We fell in love with 155 Bar & Kitchen, a welcoming Scandi-style restaurant/spa/homeware shop/bar. The chairs were super comfortable and warm (it was freezing outside) as they were covered in fur and the staff was very welcoming (Xavier and Laszlo in particular). The restaurant gives a sense of relaxation and quietness. Service was quick and attentive but not intrusive and we had the most amazing Gin & Tonic made with Portobello Gin. The food was very different to anything experienced before, I loved the chicken with linguine and my partner loved his lamb. We would have re-eaten the same dish again! We are planning to go back again tonight as we had such a nice time there!

We booked our office Christmas Dinner, enticed by the all included wine in £75x person 2 course meal. We were left hungrier than when we arrived. The main course consisted in 3 small rolls of a thin layer of turkey with some mousse inside. 4 Brussels sprouts (I know) and a tiny slice of potato cake. And thats it!! I hehe eaten larger starters, never mind first and main course. The Christmas puddings, were tiny moulds soooo hard to cut through.Later on I saw one of the cook going into the kitchen with a tray of pre-made long rolls wrapped into cling film. It must cost them 50p x roll and they can "feed" to 10 people with it. Very poor service too. We were left from 1pm to 2 pm before the food appeared. They filled the glasses to 1/4 and from time to time they would come and refill up to the same level. I wonder how many office Christmas parties made the same mistake to book at 155.

My colleagues and I visited here during the lunch service. The restaurant did not seem overly busy and the waitress was reasonably quick to take our order. Sadly we then waited well over 45 minutes for our food to arrive. When it did I think the general feeling was that it was ok but nothing great. My choice in particular was very disappointing. I had ordered the pork belly sandwich, when ordering a sandwich I do expect a decent amount of filling, this was not the case. Across the halves of sandwich I had 3 and a bit very thinly sliced pieces of pork with the rest of the sandwich being made up of salad leaves, and pickled cabbage and cucumber garnish. Whilst my colleagues choices of fish and chips and burger were more acceptable portion sizes I don’t think anyone was blown away. The waitress was apologetic about the delay but when it’s a relatively simple order over a lunchtime you can’t help but expect more. I’d been looking forward to trying this place for weeks as I’d heard good things and the overall idea and space it fantastic. Sadly on our visit it didn’t live up to expectations.

I held my 30th Birthday Brunch celebrations here a few weekends ago. Considering there were 28 of us, the staff were very attentive and catered to us all. The food was delicious and the venue was lovely. After brunch, we all moved to the piano lounge and continued making the most of the bottomless prosecco. The events management team were ace at organising the event for me and sending me menus in advance so that my guests could pre-order their meals. I would return without a doubt, many of my friends also complimented the venue asking how I had found out about it. Thank you for an amazing day to remember and for catering for such a large group!

Went here for a joint birthday Saturday afternoon brunch with my friends. The food was good and there is a bottomless option that is well stocked. One negative though, as it was our friends birthday we sang them happy birthday only to be warned that we were too noisy and would be asked to leave. This was despite the fact that we were pretty much the only people left in the restaurant (and we're a group 15), it was a Saturday brunch (so you expect it to have an atmosphere) and it was a birthday party (so you'd expect we might sing happy birthday). Accordingly would recommend for good food and quiet people!!

This is a perfect place for a business lunch. Quiet enough to hold a conversation, good service, excellent value, and great food. The 2 course business lunch menu offers a great selection. The Cornish fish soup was incredible, although the aioli could have had a lot more garlic. The mushroom ravioli was soft and velvety - stuffed full of flavour and filling, with a terrific herby sauce that had the perfect amount of acidity to sharpen the dish.

It REALLY is such a shame , because the staff are friendly and the food beautifully prepared but this IS the 21st Century and to ensure they don't get the wrong clients staying thee too long , there are NO POWER POINTS in either the cafe or meeting room that patrons can use. You can't charge your iphone Ipad because the only plugs I can see are circular 3 pins from the 1950's ! And - The music is more important than any customer or meeting. Its not like this is Marble Arch or Trafalgar Square where every seat is PACKED !! No the noise is more important than the customers.

I pass 155 Bar & Kitchen regularly whilst walking from Kings Cross down to central London. The first time I visited, I was looking for somewhere to have a coffee that wasn't one of the standard coffee shops, and somewhere I could do some work for 30 minutes. I was immediately approached and asked what I'd like, when I explained I was after a coffee I was directed through the bar / restaurant area to some more lounge-style seating where I'd be more comfortable and my coffee arrived in due course. A little while later I was asked if I needed anything else, and I'd enjoyed the coffee so much that I asked for another one "in about ten minutes". A carafe of water then arrived, and my second coffee followed in almost exactly the ten minutes. The service, atmosphere and quality of the coffee was so good that I've popped in several times over the last month, including visiting for breakfast yesterday. The full breakfast is astoundingly good, and generous, and great value at £9. I could not have hoped for a better start to my day. When I walked back up Farringdon Road towards Kings Cross later in the day I saw the gentleman who'd served me at breakfast time walking towards me: no doubt he'd had a busy day between my breakfast and 4pm, but I received a big smile and wave and enquiry if I'd had a good day.I'm really looking forward to visiting for dinner next week, and no doubt will follow that up with another breakfast visit.Thank you!

Ironically, 155 was a second choice as for our dining that evening as our first couldn't accommodate us - lucky us! It's on a main road, but not a main tourist path in London - but not difficult at all to get to by tube/walk. We started with ceviche. Then, my daughter wanted steak, and the rest of us were looking for seafood, and all were satisfied. I had the smoked cod with a cauliflower puree. Two other companions has what in my opinion were the best scallops I've ever had. Daughter had I think a hanger steak, with some tremendous mashed potato fries (so mashed potatoes shaped and fried into french fry shape - wow!).

We found this place by chance and came in for an early lunch. Great atmosphere, trendy decor, nice lighting and cheerful staff. We had the 2 course business lunch menu and the chef was happy to swap the fried duck egg for a poached one, which made the starter really really good. I had the moules to follow, again very tasty and served with good French fries. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert was yummy and a big enough portion for 2 to share. The venue has some private dining rooms which would be great for a birthday or gathering and downstairs there is a trendy bar area. Will definitely come back!

They do a set business lunch for £14 for two courses and promise to get you fed within an hour. Excellent value and respectful to your diary. The food is modern European Brasserie fayre. It was well cooked and served hot. The mac n cheese was lovely and the ploughman's is one of the best I've had in years. I recommend this place for food and for drinks. I tried this place last Saturday and it unexpectedly became one of my top 3 restaurants in the area.Food = 5/5We had the 'savoury waffle' and 'dirty burger' for brunch. It was just delicious and honestly, for that price, I was not really expecting such quality of foods.Service = 5/5The place was very busy and, as we did not make any reservation, we thought we may get turned away. But the staffs very kindly gave us a lively table downstairs which is normally used as a function room and wine bar (with design chairs, piano, wine storage room?). Despite being the only table downstairs, the staffs regularly came to check on us (every 15 min). They were very kind and efficient.Decor = 5/5Elegant & contemporary. The main dining room appears to be scandi-style. The Vinyl store (bar & chill area) next to the main dining room is very comfy. The function room dowstairs is simply very elegant.Price = 4/5Very reasonable price for the area. I've been to many local restaurants who overprice their menu and this place so far has a very good value for money.

Clearly the kitchen can produce food to a high standard, and was all good. The service was totally random - trying hard, but too many staff spending most of their time apologising for a series of minor failures. For example, I know they have only been open over the summer, but to have zero ability to hang jackets and costs anywhere in the entire restaurant is pretty poor, if not to say bizarre. Winter is fast approaching so they need to get down to Ikea and shell out 30 quid for a coat rack. Sadly it is a bit symptomatic of front of house - just no real attention to detail. Slightly worried that on Thursday night in the City it was not full and if 155 does not make it that would be a shame as the chef deserves more. Perhaps getting a really top front of house person to fix it would be a good investment.

This restaurant has a fairly limited menu and a significant number of fish dishes. Note that if you want the lamb make sure that you order it quickly when you arrive. We had what we thought were "nibbles" (I think we read the "bar snacks" menu carelessly!) so ended up skipping starters and then ordered our mains. There was indeed a delay for our main course but we were not worried and they were extremely apologetic suggesting myriad ways they could make it up to us. 4 shared starters and 4 mains, 4 bottles of wine, 4 coffees total £236 including tip (the rest of what we had was complimentary due to delays!). This is a fairly new restaurant so it was not full, despite being Thursday night, and there were therefore too many waiting staff who didn't really know what to do with themselves. I hope that it shapes up because the cooking is good and I will return to see how it has progressed!

Newly opened bar/restaurant, in a place being both a shop and bar. Unfortunately running a shop, even bespoke man tailor, is quite different from running a wine bar - only few wines by glass are available, and if there is a nice selection of bottles they are outrageously overpriced, even for London. Maybe worth giving a second chance in few months but for the time being, avoid.

Extremely overpriced. I had a ceviche that was tiny and didn’t justify the £16 price tag and 3 glasses of 125ml very basic house wine at £8 a glass. The server seemed perplexed when I refused to pay a 12.5% service fee when I was sat outside and waited 10 minutes for each glass of wine. What a swizz.
