We were here on a sunday and had the 5 courses. The food was delicious and the surprise menu was fun. Special thanks to our server Stephanie. She was the best and good luck at your new job!

Staff were brilliant, lovely setting too. 10 course autumn menu was outstanding and great value for money.

Fabulous cosy restaurant spotlessly clean with an excellent friendly and professional staff. We had the 10 course taster menu which was truly excellent. Some things I wouldn't normally order but was fantastic. I had the matched wines which were very good and all in I thought it was good value for the type of meal it was. All in an amazing experience.

had an amazing time as always, first time i've been able to treat my mum to such a nice meal in a while. There were a few hiccups in part to me misunderstanding the booking and a couple service hiccups but all were handled professionally and curteously. I am a big believer in the sign of a good business isn't that they don't make mistakes but know how to handle them and the team at 111 proved this. Highly recomend this to anyone for an amazing gourmet experience for an afordable price

Overall slightly disappointing visit. Food was average, portions were ridiculously small even for a tasting menu. Some needed seasoning and some the temperature was off. Also to not offer a wine till the second course on a wine pairing tasting menu is a first for me. Could be better for the price

The concept of this restaurant is truly remarkable, as it offers a unique dining experience with a ten-course meal where the dishes remain a delightful surprise. The staff members are exceptionally courteous and friendly, which creates a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning in the future

The autumn menu is amazing! We had a few dietary requirements within our group and the chefs were very accommodating in making substitutes which were just as lovely. Well worth it for a treat night out.

Excellent and efficient service to compliment equally brilliant food. Despite visiting at the end of the summer season the menu still captured the vibrance of the produce and gave a welcome break from the crispness outside. Looking forward to returning to see what they do with autumn!!

Visit 111 by Modou with a few friends for the Monday Total Trust menu, and it was absolutely spectactular - probably the best meal I've ever had. Ten taster dishes, six glasses of wine, and a blank menu that you fill in with your guess of what you're eating. They accomodated beautifully for a full vegan taster menu, keeping them as close to the regular tasters as they could - every dish was amazing and I'm already planning when to go back (this was one of my friend's second visit). Beautiful restaurant, the staff were spectacular and very knowledgable - if you're wavering on trying, it's worth it.

Went to a wine tasting and food matching experience. Our host, Stephanie was knowledgable, articulate and charming. We were most impressed by the whole experience. All the staff were attentive and the food/wines were outstanding. What a lovely night out!

Great idea and execution of 11 small courses (on the day we went) with seasonal fare, in a wonderful atmosphere. Similar to a tasting menu you may have come across offered by some restaurants but no option to have less but larger portions of the same. Recommend

Have visited for both the critics choice (lunch) and the 10 by Modou (early evening). I’d say i enjoyed the latter better, there was more of a buzz about the place and the mystery dishes were very exciting. Would post pics - but that would spoil the experience.

Michelin style, but with very reasonable prices. One of the best restaurants in Glasgow. Great value for money. A must try. For first timers, it will be fun and, possibly, different. But be open minded and enjoy.

We had an absolutely lovely evening at 111 by Modu. The serving staff were absolutely fantastic, really knowledgeable and explaining all the dishes. During one of the explanations I showed myself up rather by asking about the 'urban flavours' but it turned out our server had an American accent and he had said 'herbal flavours'. The fit of giggles sustained through the sea bass with picked fennel and boulasbaise only added to the joy of the food. I really cannot recommend this place enough. The whole operation for serving 10 courses and 6 paired wines is just perfectly choreographed and you get to see the whole show if you sit facing the bar/servery. After the first two paired wines I was rather worried that my second Park Run this year was rather in jeopardy. But I managed to make it to the end and am confident that I will still be able to trot around Springburn park in the morning, despite all the feasting and bonhomie. Every course was just exquisite and it's hard to pick one out. But the frozen granny smith granita thing with pecan yumminess on the top came at a very opportune moment when I was starting to flag (course 9). The whole things was a work of art and the staff were amazing. Thank you.

The food was sensational, coupled with the wine paring menu it was excellency with every bite. Michelle was our server and they were phenomenal. Polite, enthusiastic, friendly and warm we were took through our 10 ten courses with their expert care and we will be back with haste!

Was a fab meal but felt a bit rushed

Absolute must-visit if you’re in Glasgow. We had the Monday 10-course tasting menu with wine pairings - food and wine absolutely delicious and incredible value for money. As a pescatarian I also massively appreciated the restaurant catering to this with no fuss. All the staff were friendly and professional, and the restaurant was completely full with a great atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back if we visit Glasgow again!

Hands down one of the best meal I have had.. we had critics choice 5 course meal with wine pairing. Best part was guessing what’s in every course.. service was great.. everyone was very engaging and fun.. overall great experience! Highly recommend.

This is the second time we have been here and can’t fault the food. Very high quality and innovative menu. We ate from the trust the chef menu where you get 5 courses and if you wish to you can guess what’s in it. Makes the experience so much more interesting. If you like trying new things and don’t have any food fears this is the place to go. Unlike a lot of tasting menus you feel full afterwards because it’s so well made and luxurious. The staff are great and the interaction when they reveal the courses adds to the experience.

We visited 111 by Modou for their Monday 10 Course tasting menu. We chose the option of working out what was in each dish, rather than being told when being served which made our dinner feel more like an experience! The food was delicious, and the service was good, with all but one of the waiters being very knowledgebale about the dishes and really assisted in making the experience feel special. All in all we had a brilliant time and I would highly reccomend it to anyone who loves good food for really reasonable prices!

The Critics Choice 5 course menu was delicious, what a great idea, you don't know what you're going to get but just leave it to the chef. The price was reasonable and the service from Paula was excellent. We will be back

23/5/23 The food was amazing. The atmosphere was frenetic. I sat with my back to the serving area. The noise levels were incredible. Bottles were thrown into bins, waiters squeezed through the tight space between our table and the next until I blocked it. The noise level was terrible and not relaxing at all.

Top notch. The food, the service, the ambiance. All perfect. We were there as a wee treat for my daughter's birthday and it didn't disappoint. Special mention to Eric and Michelle.

Great food, nice relaxed atmosphere

Food was amazing, very attentive service. All around great dining experience. There was 10 courses I just forgot to take pictures of them all. They were also very happy to sub out courses for the veggie menu to met dietary requirements.

My friend and I came here for the Spring menu. The service was great, value for money is excellent. However, the menu itself was underwhelming. For a spring theme we expected the dishes to have a fresh and light flavour. Instead, it was overly salty and one of the dishes was basically macaroni and cheese with bacon. How is that a spring flavour? I drank 4 glasses of water with the 10 dishes cause I was so dehydrated with how salty everything was. We really enjoyed 2 out of the 10 dishes. I would come back again to try a different menu, but really think the Spring one is not a success... Also, who serves a block of cheese as dish #8 when people are already stuffed? Could have definitely been presented better.

Great tasting menu as always. We've been a few times and the food is always excellent. We are going again next week.

Had the vegetarian version of the 10 course menu, with wine pairings. It was just great, the best meal I've ever had, and I'm 62 so have had a few. Very good value too. What a lovely restaurant, great menu and staff. Thanks for a most memorable evening.

We were really looking forward to that dinner. But our expectations weren’t justified. The time between dishes could reach 15-20 minutes, which is very long, the whole process of eating took 2.5 hours, although we had plans after the dinner and did eat very quickly, the food was ordinary, out of 10 dishes we liked 3-4, the fish was very salted, in at the end of dining I was extra charged another £4 and I only noticed this after we had finished. We are really disappointed with the experience at 111.

We went for the total trust menu (£25 on a sunday) for 5 courses which you dont know in advance. The food was brilliant the service was brilliant. We will be back for sure.

Ethan was incredible and the service from all members of staff on shift tonight was genuine, knowledgeable and lovely. Food was incredible and so was the wine pairings with it.

We love going to Modou. Best tasting menu in the city. Can't recommend it enough. Only drawback is that it's always roasting, winter or summer. Some AC would be greatly appreciated.

We attended 111 by Modou for Mothers day. We were totally blown away with the whole experience. The staff were amazing and the food was divine. Possibly one of the best restaurants we have ever visited. A special thank you to all the staff, especially Pola, Jim, Michelle, Findlay, Louis and of course the chefs who are culinary geniuses. We will definitely be back guys, thank you so much for making a very special day.

Total Trust, great idea, great food and great fun

Enjoyed the 5 course "Total Trust" menu, excellent food and value at £25. Couple of small points, coffee came before dessert and no teaspoon with coffee, slightly nippy waitress when asked for teaspoon and dessert. Was overcharged by £30 on bill (Inspire instead of Trust), sorted out okay. Rest of staff were really nice. Would recommend.

The “Total Trust” menu is great fun and also really good value - £25 for the five courses. The menu changes with each service so little point giving a run through but some inventive and skilful dishes here. You can choose not to know what the dish is and then write down your thoughts on menu. Service very friendly and helpful and they seemed happy to take part in the guessing game. At this price and with standard of cooking, well worth a trip.

Update: I was asked to contact the restaurant to discus it further - I had emailed but had no response. Great value for money and the majority of staff were lovely. However when having the total trust menu (where you guess what you are being served) my girlfriend who has been vegetarian for 10 years was given and ate fish risotto. It was three or four courses in and the server was aware it in the previous dishes that we were having the vegetarian menu. We quickly questioned if it was fish and the dish was replaced but the situation was laughed off and there was no sincere apology, even though there was clear upset. Obviously mistakes happen but messing up a menu that is based on trust is not good - the following dishes were nice but it was hard to enjoy as we were having to question if it was vegetarian.

Had a wonderful 10 course tasting every course was superb and the staff were excellent thanks for a brilliant time.

Went to “total trust” on Sunday. The food was amazing, and we were very well looked after by Finlay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this as a way to pass a Sunday afternoon! Will be back.

Went with the Total Trust Menu where the chef decides your menu. Added to that was that you can guess what the menu was after eating it. You can be told if you wish. The food was amazing, top quality which was added to by the fantastic service. Thank you Finlay and the two other servers I didn't have the pleasure of knowing their name. They were outstanding members of the service industry and I hope to have the pleasure of being back at Modou soon.

Very well presented and tasty dishes. And with the 10-course menu for £30pp you simply can't go wrong! Staff is always friendly and helpful too.

We tried the 10 course trust menu. I really enjoyed it, was so nice not choosing your own food and just trying new things. Some courses were much better than others and I felt like it was much more inventive at the start and was a little less so as it went on, but overall I enjoyed the food and the service was lovely.

What a total delight! Came for the Total Trust surprise menu for a special birthday outing and it was glorious - wonderful cooking and such fun trying to identify the different flavours and ingredients. Confident, clever and satisfying food and really reasonably priced for the standard. Special mention to Finlay our waiter, full of enthusiasm and information about the courses and ingredients and a real sparkle and warmth in his hospitality - he made the meal even more special. Will definitely be back!

Loved it. Did a 10 course tasting menu and guessed the dishes too. I would say im a BIT picky but i LOVED 9 out of 10 of the dishes (i just hate mince pies!) Would have personally liked to have each course served faster. Definitely recommend. Something different.

My fiancée and I went there for a special lunch after my kilt fitting and all of our expectations were met in the best way. We had the "Once upon a time" menu which had a great variety of rich and delicious dishes. My partner took the wine tasting which Matthew presented with each course. The service was perfect (the restaurant was fairly quiet that day). We were well attended and any of our questions were carefully answered. We had a great experience and would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable, high-quality meal.

Guessing what you were eating was fun if you want that option and the main thing was I was better than my wife at that. Not that I'm competitive. Finlay, who attended us is so friendly, knowledgeable. He has provided exceptional service. The foods have always been fabulous. I always love Modou's creative menu. We are here for the trust menu. 5 plates chef's choice. £25 per person feels like exceptionally good value. For the price of a starter and main, we had 5 delicious courses. The restaurant is small and intimate with modern clean decor and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Can't recommend this more highly.

Have been here on a few occasions now, it’s a must if I’m visiting Glasgow! Some of the best food I’ve eaten in Scotland by far. Great wee place, with great service and atmosphere. I love small and intimate spaces and this one sets the bar high. Fantastic tasting menu with great wine pairing… what more can you want!

Visited with my boyfriend and I for my birthday. Mona was our server and she could not of done anymore to make the occasion more special. We got a complimentary glass of fizz each to celebrate my birthday and when it came to the food and wine she was very knowledgable. We got the wine pairing which I think is great for the money and completes the experience in my opinion. Would love to come back on the Sunday or Monday for the total trust menu.

Finally got to visit the restaurant. It was a great dining experience, so glad I made it. Same as my other review I enjoyed 5 of the 6 courses. The Chefs paid attention to every detail of each dish. Staff were welcoming and they knew the menu well. The apéritif’s were a great addition and perfect for the food served. I hope I get to go back soon.

This is simply stunning food at this price. So much thought, care and attention to detail goes into every dish. Staff were excellent at accommodating various dietary requirements and courses were nicely paced. Accompanying wines are judiciously chosen and service is cheerful and available without being overbearing. One complaint is that hard surfaces can make hearing dining companions tricky, especially if you have hearing issues. Overall though a superb meal, stunningly presented, and probably the best value In Scotland if not the UK. Well worth the cab fare from the city centre if you’re visiting.

As a chef with my glory days behind me, I am always excited to see what the new generation of cooks is serving up so, having been watching this restaurant's presence grow online and having seen a few menus, I was looking forward to eating there. We were seated quickly and our server explained the process of the menu. Three choices of main ingredient per course with optional cheese board and amuse bouche. We chose our ingredients and I opted for the matched wines. Mrs. Me was driving and abstained. The snack item to start was a fish cake with aoli. This was pleasing, but in no way did it suggest what would follow. The Squash velouté was as smooth as I've I've ever seen and the pickled squash disks are light and crisp. You dig down to the bottom to find black olive tapnade and dill oil. Beautiful. Steak tartare next. Amazing. Just amazing. As good as I've eaten. Perfection. Next up lamb belly. Perfectly cooked with a delicate jus and squash purée. The flavours are remarkable. The textures are complimentary. Intelligence is at work in this kitchen. I ordered chicken next. I never order chicken. It was a ballatine. It was splendid. My dessert was inspired by Turkish coffee and I'll admit I didn't really get coffee in my palate, but it tasted great and my glass of sherry complimented it wonderfully. I did have the slightest of tastes of my wife's choices and everything was really, really good. The wines were well chosen. This was a great eating experience. This is a kitchen brimming with well earned confidence. Fresh ideas and great use of ingredients. The service is faultless and everyone smiles. They know the menus well and make you feel welcome. It's not cheap. It shouldn't be. Go there before they get their star and it is even less cheap. We'll be back.

Excellent food at an excellent price, but you have to trust the chef as it’s all a surprise!!

Total Trust menu - This was an exciting birthday gift. The food was excellent quality and the dishes that I liked were delicious. Unfortunately, the last 2 courses weren’t for me. I was so disappointed, as a milk hater, to get breakfast flavours for dessert. I have given 1 star for atmosphere as the diners were all very close together, even though the restaurant was quiet, so it felt a bit awkward. I’d still recommend it wasn’t bad enough to put me off. If you’re a fusspot, like me, don’t choose the trust menu (even though it was quite entertaining trying to guess the flavours)

By far the best restaurant experience I have ever had. Took my in-laws for my mother in law's birthday and the staff really made a fuss of her. Every dish was incredible and we loved trying to guess the key ingredients. Just a truly fantastic experience and incredibly good value.

Nice place. Great food. But when we booked, we booked for just two people and in the notes we said we'd be bringing a baby + asked for a high-chair. The waitress - south African lass - gave us a proper telling off when we arrived, saying we should have booked for three and it was hard to accommodate us. Properly dressed us down for it. Other servers were really nice, but, like, why have a go at the customers? What's to gain? Would have had a nicer evening without that.

Great concept, fell short of expectations. Highlight: The risotto was the only actually well executed dish, from balanced flavour to great texture, well done. Low: The desert was just lazy... Mousse combination with enough sugar to power a horse for a day, no imagination, cheap and easy to serve are the only reasons I can come up with for this being on the menu. What we hoped would be the cherry on top of previous courses was eating a cube of sugar like experience and exercise in disappointment. The rest seemed like a brilliant ideas that fell short for various reasons: - The carp-like(can't recall the name) fish had fantastic texture but the flavour was covered up by the acidity of the reduction and sauce used. - The pork cheek was like wise cooked excellently but it's garnishes (i.e. the carrot puree was salted to the extent of overpowering the meat. - The single Ravioli was okay, interesting use of lovage but the combination didn't feel quite right. I don't usually take the time to write restaurant reviews, the main reason for this one - I would really love to see you succeed and nail it. It is not far from being spot on, just drag it over the finish line. Best of luck.
