The Oak Tree Restaurant Mayobridge Golf Club

Mayobridge, Newry and Mourne, 30-45£
20/11/2018: It is a lovely restaurant: simple & authentic. The meals are delicious and beautifully presented moreover you get more variety of dishes than usually in a local Irish restaurant. Well done to the chef and the staff. Perfect place for a nice, tranquil breakfast or Sunday lunch.
09/09/2018: We have now been to the Oak Tree restaurant at Mayobride Golf Club a few times and it is fast becoming our favourite eatery in the Newry area. The hospitality is what you would expect of a countryside farming family in South Down - warm and genuine.

10/12/2018: Great food. Lovely staff. Love the fact they are helping young people into the industry. A must visit if you are in Portadown.
07/09/2018: As a restaurant that helps Special Needs Young Adults, the variety of food, service and cleanliness is amazing. Their specials are great value and choices are varied. Special dietry requirements are catered for too. Glad it got funding and was able to stay opened! Well worth a visit!!!

The Old School House

Rostrevor, Newry and Mourne
18/10/2018: Four of us arrived for lunch on Tuesday afternoon. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. The menu was explained and each of us chose one of the 'Specials', Beef Stroganof, Cottage Pie, Sirloin Steak Open Sandwich and Venison Burger. While waiting two of us enjoyed a local Gin Cocktail which was very refreshing. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. For dessert three of us enjoyed Chocolate Fudge Cake and one Caramel Square with coffees. The service was excellent. We spent a great afternoon catching up and enjoyed the lovely relaxed atmosphere. Thank you for looking after us so well and we look forward to our next visit.
15/10/2018: Yet another home run from the Quinn camp on the hill. Smashing feed in this quaint little restaurant every time.

Kitchen

Woodville, Craigavon
11/12/2018: Lovely friendly staff and good food great choice on menu from light lunch to full lunch and children menu aswell
20/11/2018: I've visited Kitchen a few times over the last couple of months and usually with baby in tow. Staff are very helpful, rearranging furniture to make space for highchair and then storing buggy. They do a wee bowl of mash, veg, gravy etc for toddlers. Seems to be a very popular spot and understandably so! Highly recommend a visit.

31/10/2018: Called here after a day shopping and glad we did, we enjoyed a lovely tasty freshly cooked meal and excellent customer service from friendly efficient staff, menu is not extensive but varied enough and there are also daily specials, didn't get to try sweet options as main meal portions were large and very filling, will be back to try one of them.

Bide A While - Country Tea Room

Tullyhappy, Newry and Mourne
31/10/2018: Great bacon on toasted muffins with poached eggs and bbq sauce. Brillant. Rhurburb and Apple pie lovely with cream with coffee. Well priced. Great food.
12/10/2018: Visited this lovely place with my sister. Was recommended by many people and it certainly did not disappoint. The staff and owner were so friendly and welcoming. The menu was obviously homemade and to everyone's taste. The tables were continually being filled and on chatting to other patrons it was obvious they all loved returning. Cannot wait to introduce others to this little peaceful retreat in the lovely countryside. Thank you!!

Sintons at the bridge

Poyntz Pass, Armagh
17/12/2018: After a brisk 4 mile walk on the towpath, this was a perfect dinner stop!
13/12/2018: Just called in on a Sunday as we heard a lot about Sintons but had never been. Didn't disappoint. Meal was lovely and not badly priced and staff were very friendly. We were served shortly after being seated. Staff all know what their doing. Meals were brought out of kitchen to 1 of the main serving places where staff waited, taking it in turn to serve the tables and 1 of them lifting the empty tray each time to save any delay. Will definitely be back. Nice atmosphere.

Fusion

Clonallan, Newry and Mourne, >100£
24/11/2018: Highly recommend Fusion Warrenpoint for a great night out !
02/11/2018: Haven’t been here in a while. Love the Italian menu. Only thing that I noticed was the absence of pizzas, but the array of dishes you’ll find are more than adequate. Service was 11/10, attentive and more than willing to offer sufficient advice on all dishes and beverages.

4 Vicars Restaurant

Callan Bridge, Armagh
09/12/2018: Had a lovely dinner here the other night with my wife. Beautiful location right outside one the cathedral entrances on a hill above this historic city. The cooking is well above just about anything else in the area. Cod, duck and pudding were standout dishes. My only complaint is the price. Three courses cost £38 each. I ate a couple of nights earlier in a Michelin star pub in England and three courses were £32 (and on a whole different level of quality). Noble in Holywood with a Bib Gourmand is £30 for three courses (plus a little more for a side). Maybe because they're only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights they can get away with it. But there were empty table on this Saturday a couple of weeks before Christmas. It was surprisingly easy to get a table. The quality of food and service and atmosphere is spot on but maybe a look at the price might be advisable?
06/11/2018: Good food friendly staff somewhat cramped but this is compensated for by the quality of the food and the efficiency of the staff

Cobbles

Daisy hill, Newry and Mourne, <20£
21/11/2018: The doormen need to learn how to speak to paying customers. Especially the big foreign lad. An absolute disgrace the way he speaks to people.
20/11/2018: I was searching for a great place to eat near the bus terminal and Cobbles was the best place to go. Fast service, friendly staff and food is great (I ordered their special: roast beef...though veggies could be better). Price is very reasonable too.

The Harbour Inn

Annalong, Newry and Mourne
03/12/2018: Visited on a cold November Friday night. The place was extremely quiet which can be no reflection on the quality of the food as we all agreed that it was a really good meal. The service was a little bit frantic so we assumed there were perhaps some new staff on that evening. Everyone was, however, friendly and helpful. The hake, chowder and soup were all superb, the portions were the perfect size for a cold winter's night by the sea. The only small issue was the Christmas music in November ;)
03/11/2018: Wet windy day -best decision to drive out Harbour Bar Annalong a beautiful venue sitting at a roaring open fine looking out over the rainy sea and then to top it off great wine and amazing food - sea food chowder was the best I have tasted - scampi and chip ohh so good reminded me how scampi is supposed to taste (not a greasy batter ball ) the special was special and the cream brûlée was better than the French!!! Worth the drive.
