Carrick Cottage Cafe
Annalong, Newry and Mourne
17/10/2020: After 3 hours in the Mournes, was looking forward to some warm coffee and a bite to eat. This place is a gem, fantastic location, food and coffee in abundance. Everything was overseen by Rachael who has personality in abundance to make sure all was in order. Worth the visit. Photo is of nearby Devils Coach Road. Thank you.
16/10/2020: A relative who lives down the road recommended we visit,we ended up going twice! What a spot,we went on a good day and the view around the coast was stunning, the second visit was misty and gave the view an ethereal look.Food was great,we had breakfasts both visits and the soda bread was lovely,my Daughter assured me her hot chocolate was gorgeous on a number of occasions. We ate inside and were sat by a wood burner which was lovely and intimate. We also ate outside and again had a woodburner to keep us warm. There are fields nearby with a lovely friendly cow and we were lucky enough to watch a sheepdog at work,so for Townies like us was great. The staff do a great job with the CV19 situation as it is very small inside and were attentive, even checking the fire was stoked up enough for us.I would highly recommend it.

Courtneys Steakhouse
Daisy hill, Newry and Mourne
08/10/2020: A family of 4 were very lucky to avail of a late cancellation & secure a last minute booking on a busy Saturday night. They had been booked out since Tuesday we were told. Visiting Newry for the first time, this restaurant was a brilliant find. We went with trip advisor to decide where to eat. Courtney’s was just fabulous. We all 4 had steaks.... different cuts, cooking times & sauces & all were served up together in sweet perfection. We were all licking our lips after. Generous portions of side dishes too. We were absolutely stuffed! Lovely cocktails too. Staff were warm, chatty, helpful & of course we love that ‘ norn’ accent. Decor good, location lovely, overlooking river. I would highly highly recommend Courtney’s.Only one downfall..... perhaps social distancing was a bit tight for our current times. CHEERS COURTNEYS
03/10/2020: Just couldn't recommend Courtneys highly enough ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ chatting with Paula on Facebook messenger to arrange my booking was a complete pleasure... She even introduced herself to me when we arrived ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐our steaks were to die for, the sauces were devine, garlic potatoes the ambience and staff were top notch... Can't wait until our next visit ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Old School House
Rostrevor, Newry and Mourne
14/09/2020: Visited for lunch today. It’s slightly too dear to eat there every day for lunch (eg if you worked locally) but as a holiday treat (which it was) it’s fine. Good food and good service. Recommended.
14/09/2020: This was a great choice for lunch. Good menu choice, tastefully decorated inside, and there were also tables outside for dining when weather permits. We both opted from the sandwich selection - the prawn, avocado & apple on wheaten was a big hit as was the beef in ciabatta. Service was excellent. Our only disappointment was that we did not have time to taste from the sweet selection.....next time!

Rice's Hotel
Poyntz Pass, Armagh
02/12/2020: Just had our lunch, takeaway due to Covid restrictions, very tasty indeed. Doing a great job under the circumstances, thanks to Carla
25/08/2020: Had a great family meal in Rices on the evening of 21st August. We were all very comfortable with the Covid regulations in place, tables well spaced out, hand cleanser available. Waitress was very helpful and pleasant. I had the Caesar salad for starters, huge potions, very good The fish n chips for mains were excellent. My husband had the chicken goujons and chicken curry. Fantastic garlic mayo with the goujons. The curry was particularly good. Great flavour. Would thoroughly recommend Rices for a meal

Chapter V Restaurant
Moy, Dungannon
01/09/2020: Staying in a local village near this restaurant, booked 4 weeks in advance for our reservation. On arriving we got seated in the bar area, had orders taken here they lead to our table. Starters we all had soup, which was good Mains: Pork sons said was very good along with my husbands chicken I had cod found this to be a little tastiest, I felt the staff a little inexperienced & maybe they should have a mixture of age groups.
25/08/2020: Visited this resturant for the first time on Saturday night, what can I say , it was absolutely delicious from start to finish . there was a one-way system in place with hand sanitiser in reception area, we were greeted by friendly , helpful staff . They all wore visors & wore white gloves when changing the cutlery & glassware on tables. Chairs and tables were all cleaned down as soon as customers left , prior to resetting the table. The menu had a great variety for all pallets, all courses were delicious and ample in size . Plenty of time was given between courses and staff didn't rush you between servings which was great. Really look forward to returning here again in the near future.

The Brewer's House
Donaghmore, Dungannon
06/09/2020: We visited here recently for our wedding anniversary. This was not our first visit to the Brewers House and based on previous visits we had very high expectations. This time we took our kids (teenager and almost teenager)! The service was excellent. The food was even better. Great choice of dishes. Plenty for everyone to choose from. We all really enjoyed the fantastic food that was served to us. Excellent flavours and portion sizes. I had a few cocktails which were fab. Cannot wait to go back. Highly recommended
30/08/2020: Went to the brewers house last week for the first time and safe to say I will not be back!! On entering the premises I was ‘greeted’ by the rudest manageress I have ever encountered!! I was meeting a group of friends and when I walked in the door I was almost shoved back and told to get back outside as there was someone else in front of me. There was no sign or direction as to what to do when entering the building, and no one to meet and seat you when you did.I was so taken a back.I went back outside and waited. After approximately 10 minutes I walked back in and proceeded to find my own party myself.Food was ok, the restaurant is nice and the younger staff pleasant, however management would definitely need to learn some manners!!

Diamonds Restaurant
Daisy hill, Newry and Mourne
06/01/2021: Although due to current circumstances we’re unable to sit in for a meal, however, you offer Carry out option which is completely fabulous and the food and service is always wonderful. It really is just as super as usual. I have always had a beautiful meal here, taking it back home is no different. The food is still top class. Will definitely be back again soon.Ryan McCartney.
03/10/2020: Ate both nights in this great wee restaurant. Food excellent and staff were great.
Would definitely recommend, good varied menu.

Zio Restaurant
Annagh, Craigavon
19/10/2020: Zio has been around for as long as I can remember and it has always been amazing! I’ve never had a bad meal out of it and the atmosphere of the restaurant is always great. Some of the staff can be a little direct/short but on the whole they’re all very friendly and willing to help. Would be a frequent take-out customer and it’s brilliant to have authentic restaurant food in the comfort of your own home!
19/09/2020: We went in without pre-booking the table , after rolling eyes from the host for not booking a table in advance he let us in but we where told we have to leave by 5pm , that Didn’t bother us so we proceeded, food was average nothing spectacular, calamari for a starter and mushroom soup was nice, we got burgers for our main, it was bland, nothing special, service quiet slow had to wait a while for a bill, overall average. Not well organised this places could do with a better management

Belinnis
Camlough, Newry and Mourne
15/12/2020: i ordered honey chilli chicken which was served in a hard but soggy tortilla basket with pilau rice packed / hidden underneath, i asked for garlic chips that were greasy and disgusting and came in a bowl the size of a small teacup barely a childs' portion , my partner received similar, apart from the chicken as she is vegetarian of which her menu choice was very limited , we both went home feeling bloated and queasy and over charged wont ever return !!!!
17/09/2020: Had not been to Bellinis to eat for quite some time, but over the last couple of weeks I’ve been a few times and I have got to say 1st class all the way, the staff were so attentive and friendly and the food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend Bellinis and will be back.

Salley's Restaurant
Aughnacloy, Dungannon
18/12/2020: All good Covid wise. Starters were lovely. We both had Christmas dinner for mains. Wasn’t overwhelmed. Veg was just plain not caramelised or anything. Never had broccoli with Christmas dinner before. No cocktails sausages which I love with Christmas dinnerFemale staff were lovely. One guy member not terribly friendly but ok and his service was good
15/12/2020: I have been going to this restaurant for quite a time now and I love the food and the great customer service by all the staff but a special mention to Debbie who does everything she can to accommodate the customer's Debbie and her family have a wonderful restaurant and I would certainly recommend it for a meal.

Finegan & Son
St Patrick's, Newry and Mourne
05/11/2020: So it was freshly made doughnuts that brought us here. They had advertised on Facebook that these were being made today so it’s impulse buying. The selection included lemon curd, chocolate, raspberry (with a real raspberry atop each doughnut), strawberry (with a slice of real strawberry) and one with a wedge of honeycomb. They sure are a premium product, top priced at £2.8 each or 6 for £15. I got 6. They tasted very good but not wow. I got a flat white coffee too which was ace (£2.7). Was I glad to try them, well yes. Would I buy them again, no as they are too darn pricy. So when I next want a doughnut it’ll be into the shelbourne bakery just around the corner - their doughnuts have a lighter texture, they have more flavour and are less than half the price. I’ve no doubt that the Finegan & Son doughnut is a small batch, better quality doughnut with more expensive ingredients, but not worth it at over twice the price.
12/10/2020: This was the first time that we visited Finegan & Son. We decided to go for brunch. With everything going on at this present moment, we expected the coffee shop to be adhering to government regulations regarding covid-19. Upon entering the shop, it was immediately clear that this was not the case. To our shock, the staff behind the bar preparing food and drinks weren’t wearing face masks or visors. We waited at the door to be seated and a member of staff showed us to a table (also not wearing a face covering). The tables weren’t 2 metres apart and customers not seated were chatting closely (also not 2 metres apart). Forget social distancing! It’s a real shame because the food and the coffee were lovely. However, we were so disappointed and were made to feel so uncomfortable that we certainly won’t be back.

The Church
Rostrevor, Newry and Mourne
27/09/2020: this place is in such a beautiful spot in a restored church , seating areas inside and out . Service on our visit was excellent and we sat outside on a beautiful sunny September morning for eagerly anticipated brunch . one way system , very well organised and strict safety measures which was very encouraging . Sunday brunch is served till 12 30 . we were told on arrival they were busy and food would be 15 to 20 min wait , this was fine and it arrived quicker than expected . but .. the food was really not nice .. I haven’t been to someone in a very long time where I found the food difficult to eat because of the taste . Everything had a strange taste of cooking oil which overpowered all the flavour of the food . This has put me off returning any time soon and it’s such a shame as I would have rated this place very highly in previous visits .
20/09/2020: First time here... Booked a table last minute after getting off the Carlingford Ferry and they were able to accommodate us. Originally offered an outside table but on arrival it was no problem changing to inside as it was a bit chilly ❄️Such a beautiful restaurant, lovely original church features have been kept.Covid measures brilliant, all staff wearing visors, doors open to let the air circulate and tables far enough apart. My little girl is a very plain eater and our request for pasta for her was no problem at all, really appreciated especially during the ongoing situation when places are trying to keep menus straightforward. The food was excellent, I had the fish special and it was absolutely gorgeous and portion size was perfect. Kids meals very good quality. Desserts were beautiful and they were even able to accommodate my dairy intolerant toddler so he wasn't left out.Staff were very friendly and especially engaged with the kids which means a lot. Will definitely be returning, maybe for a bite if lunch and coffee next time we are in the area.

Sintons at the bridge
Poyntz Pass, Armagh
23/08/2020: First visit to this excellent establishment since lockdown eased. Very impressed with the manner in which all government regulations were observed. Felt very safe and, as always, the food and service were excellent. Well done to everyone.
22/08/2020: We went as a group of 3 last night and we can't recommend the place enough. Staff are amazing and can't do enough for you. Food wise, we'd highly recommend the calamari and the duck starters. Amazing. Can't wait for the next visit! Thanks for having us!
