The best restaurants serving Italian food in Stow Hill Newport South Wales

Had a great coffee for a reasonable price, lovely people running the place. Great to see a independent cafe thriving, will be back.

Family gathering of 5 adults & 3 children. Very pleasant evening with great company & food to match. Our booking at 5 15 on a Sunday evening meant there were more in our party than the other visitors.Extremely quiet. We ordered our food (no starters) 2 children's set meals, 4 pizzas, a King prawn pasta dish & my choice of Truffle & Pancetta Carbonara, which was very tasty - Fresh Creste di Gallo pasta with wild mushrooms in a rich pancetta, performing & truffle infused carbonate sauce - WOW! Loved it - so very tasty 10/10 from me. My choice for dessert was a Raspberry Collins Cheesecake - decadent raspberry & gin layered Cheesecake served with strawberry sorbet. Another winner from me - great finish to my meal. I mentioned that I had a £20 off £50spend code but was advised it was on a maximum of 6 people! It did not state that on my e mail & as we were leaving, I didn't pursue it but on re-checking in my Perkz wallet there is no mention of that!!! Returned to Zizzi the following day, showing them my e mail offer from Zizzi - WHICH DID NOT STATE A MAXIMUM OF 6 PEOPLE for the offer. Lady I spoke to took details of my offer to check with her Manager & would contact me re outcome. Telephone call from her 2/3 hours later requesting card details so the £20 REFUND could be authorised by them A few days later this was in the bank account of the payee

Very excited to try this restaurant for the first time. Greeted by a very helpful waitress who was also very happy to advise when we found it hard to choose from the varied menu. The white wine on serving wasn't chilled enough on serving but the waitress provided ice in a cooler. Unfortunately the food to follow was very disappointing. The Calamari to start was rubbery and I would assume straight from the freezer. The pasta mains were very bland, lacking flavour and seasoning. Both our pastas, though different choices, clearly had the same flavourless sauce but one had 3 mussels and a few other shellfish added. The garlic bread was ok. The restaurant seemed full with Christmas parties and the atmosphere was fun. We wouldn't return - the food just wasn't good enough.

Franchement pas la meilleure expérience de pâtes que j'ai mangé. Nous avons une franchise en France qui s'appelle Del'arte et c'était pareil moyen. Pas des pâtes avec goût , on dirait que c'est fait comme chez vous à l'arrache et pas de goût.
