The Stag Inn

Petworth, Chichester, >100£
07/06/2018: This pub couldn’t be more welcoming! The planters round the front are bursting with flowers and the welcome by the staff is very inviting. The man behind the bar served our drinks whilst enthusiastically giving us the specials. He said the portions were on the...
05/06/2018: We popped in for Saturday evening meal, the staff were really friendly and welcoming- the land lady chatted to us about their new ownership of The Stagg, and even gave our 8 year old daughter a farting megaphone to play with (!!!). I had a...

The Gribble Inn

North Mundham, Chichester
20/06/2018: I thought after the devastating fire that it would loose its charm. but no its still there food is excellent and as for their own brewed beers, well I need to find a good local taxi firm so I can enjoy them to the full
19/06/2018: Got to love this place. A walk across the fields from Tangmere sat in a beautiful pocket of countryside. It has a great feel to it. There are eating areas and a cozy snug by the open fireplace, and as for the garden area it's great for little people. I'd recommend it with kids or without.

The Fox Goes Free

Boxgrove, Chichester, <20£
20/06/2018: We did a mistake in our booking, we mixed the dates, all our mistake. But the disguisting girl in the bar ( at 06 pm no the 19th of June) was terrible. She looked at us like we were totally idiotsWe were polite all the time, we understood our mistake, payment had been done, and that was all OK.
20/06/2018: Went with a friend to the horse racing few weeks ago and on the way we stopped at this lovely looking pub, beautiful from outside and the garden on the back is gorgeous with lovely views of the fields. Service was fine and we had the Sunday roast. It was ok but not the best I ever had. It was too much fat (even for me that usually don’t mind a bit of it), but the vegetables were really nice. I would probably try something different next time. I did enjoy the overall experience.

El Castizo

Chichester East, Chichester, <20£
31/12/2017: Been a number of times and NEVER fails to impress. Food is excellent authentic tasty and great value.. . What more can you ask for... oh the staff.. they are wonderful helpful and full if smiles.. we know why you need to book and why it's so popular... worth planning in advance
21/10/2017: Food great, welcoming staff. Real different to all restaurants and surely one of the only non-chain restaurant's left in Chichester. Such a shame for this to close down.. cannot understand why when it always seems to be so busy

Meghdoots Mystique Masala

Petworth, Chichester
17/06/2018: The usual pleasure to visit. The adraki barrah (lamb and ginger kebab) might split opinion, popular with two of our party but not with two others. Mango lassis went down as well, Cobra delicious - but does it really need to be £5 per pint?
17/06/2018: My Family , Table of four were given a table by the Window , near front desk . The booking was made same day . The service was poor not busy ... 6:45 pm . To get the order taken by the waiter was a...

Spice Cottage

Westbourne, Chichester, <20£
18/06/2018: This was our second visit to Spice Cottage, this time to celebrate ‘Father’ Day’. As before the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, the children were even shown napkin folding as we pondered the extensive menu.
18/06/2018: Lovely place with always nice food.and always delivers the food hot!We have enjoyed many good take away and eaten in on the odd occasion

The Millstream Hotel and Restaurant

Bosham, Chichester, >100£
11/06/2018: Whilst staying at the Millstream, which certainly is a pleasant , and well situated hotel, A visit to the fine dining room is a worthwhile experience. It would be difficult to fault the quality of fare provided, the Chefs are quite clearly talented and the presentation first class, couple that with excellent and rewarding tastes and this is a very good dining venue. My only very slight comment would be that accepting that it is a good restaurant, the quality of service could be improved, it is never good enough having given your order to the Maitre D to be asked "who is having what" when the plates arrive. But a minor point and certainly no reason for not enjoying the splendid fare on offer and the otherwise friendly service.
11/06/2018: From the wedding arrangements, to the accommodation, the civil ceremony, the reception, the quality of the food, drink and above all service was excellent I can’t recommend this hotel and restaurant highly enough, 5 stars! Thank you for truly memorable day.

The Banyan

Easebourne, Chichester
04/05/2018: Been coming here last 3 weeks prices go up every time think there over priced now will be last time come shame as is pritty good food but doesn't justify price rise
15/04/2018: I staged my 70th birthday party at the Banyan in mid-March. From the web-site (under "Events") I found a choice of 3 menus for private parties and the information that they can seat up to 50 people (there were 46 of us) and cater for more than that buffet-style.

Midhurst, Chichester, <20£
18/06/2018: I came across this hidden gem whilst out for a ride on my motorbike. I needed a drink and something to eat. Fitzcanes was the perfect solution.
18/06/2018: Stopped here for brunch this morning having seen it on TripAdvisor and it met all our expectations. Lovely food (I had the full monty and my wife had the eggs royale). Both were cooked to perfection and served with a smile in lovely clean surroundings. What more do you want from a food Servery? We also received helpful and informative advice from the staff about The Midhurst road closures- what a nightmare that has been for local businesses. Well done Fitzcanes. We’ll be back for sure.

The Sussex Brewery

Southbourne, Chichester, <20£
03/06/2018: Had a good meal here on the 2nd.There is plenty to choose from, which includes daily specials.
05/05/2018: Well done the staff at the Sussex Brewery. We had a group of 21 and they rolled out some very good food. The food was nice and hot and well prepared. Very nice atmosphere at this Pub.

The Lickfold Inn

Easebourne, Chichester, 30-45£
19/06/2018: Excellent friendly attentive service without being intrusive. Food excellent as was the wine by the glass (guess who was driving). Really impressed. Special occasion rather that everyday pub grub! We will go again and soon - just got to find any old excuse.
16/06/2018: 3rd visit here in as many years. Food generally excellent. Starters of pea and mint soup accompanied by an almond gazpacho (not sure why) were excellent, as was the gin marinated salmon, and the outstanding beef tartare, with "Lickfold BIts". One of us had oysters, he did not want them cooked, so they kindly suggested a dish with 6 raw oysters with accompaniments.

Waves Cafe and Sandwich Bar

Selsey South, Chichester
18/06/2018: Great café Do different size breakfast to suit differing appetites. Always has specials on. Cooked to order, always hot. Serving staff good and polite. Great sandwich bar and take out
12/06/2018: Came to selsey for a week and came to waves everyday. Every meal we had was hot till the very last bite and the grandchildren said the chicken nuggets were the best they had ever had . We had friends came to visit us who...

Gartons Coffee House

Midhurst, Chichester, <20£
18/06/2018: we turned up a busy time and the waitress said it would be around a 20 min wait for our food we said that was no problem, within 10 mins our food was out to us and very nice it was to. I work in retail and some people just love to moan having seen some of the negative reviews on here I would disagree with what they are saying. the young lady who served us was polite and efficient so thankyou to gartons and we will be back again.
17/06/2018: Stopped at Midhurst for a brief coffee break.

The Deck

Southbourne, Chichester
19/06/2018: i visited the deck over the May bank holiday, on the sunday. it wasn't busy when we arrived, and majority of people sat downstairs were being served by the takeaway station. it was extremely hot indoors and we didnt notice a single fan or AC unit so asked to sit outside on the terrace. there was no shade, and in an attempt to put an umbrella up we were told it had broken in the storms and they hadn't repaired it yet (it had been more than long enough to repair an umbrella). when we went to move to the one table under another umbrella we were told it was reserved- turned out the 6 seater table had been reserved by just two!! people who had been sitting inside and i guess they fancied a change of scenery?
18/06/2018: Great relaxed place. Nice fresh food. Throughly recommend. Lovely outdoor tables, there was music when we were there. Very chilled.

The Blacksmiths

04/06/2018: We stayed at Donnington Wild Camping for the last weekend of the half term and were recommended the Blacksmiths. It was easy to walk to from the campsite and we were welcomed upon arrival.
