First visit here & excellent food & friendly service. Mushroom and leek/potato soup starters were delicious. Lamb & Beef main dinners were really tasty with perfect amount of meat & veg. We just about had enough room to share the banofee pie which was equally good. We travelled from the other side of the island so an hour round trip but well worth it & will definitely return!

Best Chinese I’ve had! I have not had Chinese in a while but for my brother birthday we decided to get a Chinese takeaway.Although the wait was long it was definitely worth it, would recommend salt and pepper chicken

Can’t honestly fault this! Room was very clean, everything you could need (even dog bowls 😊🐾) The communal kitchen area had everything & again was spotless. The pub downstairs was really friendly, staff were amazing & the food was awesome, wholesome home cooked & yummy!

We visited for Sunday lunch. First, let me say I never add seasoning to my food in a restaurant, I expect the chef to already have seasoned it perfectly, so please don’t think that’s the reason why I am saying it was over seasoned. I had the roast beef Sunday lunch, and only got 1 slice of beef which was overcooked in my opinion, but edible. The small spoonful of mash was far too salty and peppery as was the cabbage. The roast potatoes and carrots were cooked nicely. They were very stingy with the gravy. I had the “sherry” trifle for dessert which was ok but I couldn’t detect any sherry in it. Having made many sherry trifles myself over the years, I know the sherry goes into the sponge base. Since this trifle didn’t have a sponge base that might explain the lack of sherry! The pub is also advertised as dog friendly, this is a stretch - dogs are allowed in a tiny room at the back which has 3 tables crammed into it! They could quite easily open up more of the restaurant to dogs whilst still keeping a large area dog free. Positives: the staff were friendly, well dressed and attentive and the pub was clean. It’s also in a nice setting. All in all a disappointing experience, but the faults could be easily fixed.
