An oasis of old world charm in unassuming Ballinamore outside Ballymoney. This rambling cottage is totally charming and huge. There were 10 of us, but it could easily have held 20. Brilliant drawing rooms to sit in (complete with grand piano for a sing along), a fantastic well equipped kitchen ( it used to have a restaurant) and plenty of loos (even if we couldn't find the lights for the one near the kitchen until the eve of our departure.) The wall panels in the front hall tell the fascinating history of the place. The garden is really a series of glades intersperced with thickets leading down to the old mill. What a marvel it would be for children in summertime! Heating seemed good though to be fair it wasn't that cold for early October outside. Our bathroom was good with a power shower which I imagine worked well if you were more familiar with power shower controls, which I wasn't. It was fun trying to work it out anyway. This place is well worth the money if you have a large group.

Takeaway Dirty Clucker with skinny fries was damn amazing, tastes all freshly made, the pickled gherkin was sweet not acidic and looks homemade, the ranch sauce was so creamy, also bought kids portion curry chicken and skinny fries for work later and its huge, had quick taste also amazing. Also took pics of their current lunch and evening menus so everyone can see. This staff are lovely and friendly. And took a sticky toffee pudding for later again homemade can't wait to taste it. I have had their breakfasts(also amazing and freshly cooked) before but will definitely be back for lunch or an evening meal. They don't sell alcohol so would be interested to see what their corkage fee is. This establishment deserves more and more clientele as they are open 7 days a week.

Afternoon tea through a voucher by Groupon. Lovely food, good, pleasant service, the leaf tea itself was the best. A quiet little oasis tea and food shop right in the centre of Belfast, just a quiet nook for a break. This is good value for a simple afternoon tea. Knowing that the voucher sites get a very large chunk of the voucher price, it is very good for how much the patisserie are receiving. It's a small afternoon tea, but lovely, and @ £9.50 a head compared to over £40 a head at a nearby 4 star hotel. I think Afternoon Tea is in the mid-20s without a voucher (for 2). You may have to book it, I don't know. The voucher tea needed booking. Our tea included in refreshing bitter lemonade on arriving, which was actually very refreshing left for the end, Though it wouldn't take up an hour's time quite, it's still worth a visit out especially. If you're going to be in the centre already, it's a simple, nice haven and recommended. I can't give 5 stars as the heating needed turning up on a cold winter's day, upstairs where we ate, but also downstairs.
