Beautiful 2 course lunch with free entry to the park. The food was delicious and the service efficient and friendly. We love this place.

Great location and a great pint. Camping available behind the pub.

Great spot to stay to break the journey down to Cornwall. The room was clean and had everything we needed - thank you for being so understanding and giving us a ground floor room. The reception staff were kind and professional, the restaurant was bright and cheerful with good choices of supper meals and prompt friendly service. Breakfast was very good - a wide variety of continental style items, presented well with replenished often.

We were visiting Weymouth and met up with some friends from Poole at a mid point restaurant, The Countryman. First impressions were really good, nice atmosphere, friendly welcome from all the staff. Chicken Schnitzel, Bacon & Cheese Double Burger, Steak & Ale Pie and a plate from the Carvery were our order. The Carvery was a huge hit, loved it! The Burger was okay as was the Pie but the Schnitzel looked far better than it tasted, but that could be down to personal taste. The wine was not only very good it was sensibly priced which encouraged us to purchase a second bottle for the non drivers! As it was stated at the beginning the place, the staff were superb but only the Carvery and the Pie were hits but the other 2 meals were let’s say a just little ordinary. Disappointing.

Fabulous stay on the campsite adjoining the pub. Lovely dinner and fabulous breakfast in pub. Welcoming host and staff. Could not fault it. Will stay again. Brilliant base for amazing Dorset walks. The Jurassic Breezer bus stops right next to the pub if you want a ride back.

We live locally and have driven past many times. Called in for lunch one Friday. Very welcoming staff. We opted for the philly cheese steak and BBQ pulled pork with pitta breads. The food was excellent and of a generous sized helping. No room for a dessert - sadly. All told excellent all round.

Came across this pub on our way to Weymouth and was delighted by the fantastic reception that we received from the manageress. She was extremely welcoming to both us and our dog and showed such enthusiasm that we were blown away. As it was a cold day we ordered bangers and mash which hit the spot. Nothing fancy but just good plain food. Also looks a good place for Motorhome / camper stopovers. Would certainly return if in the area.
