The best restaurants serving Default food in Cartmel and Grange West South Lakeland North West

We didn't stay over but the food and staff were 👍 great

We visited as a family of 4 with 2 children (3 & 7 months old). It was obvious on arrival that we were not welcomed or wanted. Although there is a kids menu, it was apparent that Children were not ideal for them and got the impression that adults or young couples were preferred. The restaurant area was very quiet with a lot of empty tables but we were put out of the way up the corner with a double buggy obviously blocking the door for staff to come in and out of the kitchen which wasnt ideal for them or us, but i think because of the worry of us making too much noise we were put there. We very quickly ate our meal and only had one drink and paid the bill. we were never asked if everything was okay or if there was an issue. If we had been made to feel welcome then we would have had 2-3 courses and more drinks which was a shame as the sunday lunch was nice. Wouldnt visit again.

We had a couple of beers outside on a sunny square, watching the walkers go past. Looked far too strenuous to us so we went for lunch instead.
