Ordered haddock chowder with Crusty Bread, delivered with a slice of toasted sliced white bread. Waitress and barman didn't seem to understand what the problem was. Had to ask for a spoon (twice, as the first one was dirty). Not good enough. If you are out of Crusty bread, tell the customer when ordering and offer an alternative, say a crusty bread bun, not a bit of rock hard toast !!!

This is the most truly awful over priced poor quality food I think we have ever had. Giving it 1 was too high! Del boys would be a better name. Milkshake had an enormous chunk of ice in more than anything else. Panini soggy and tasteless. Words cannot describe just how truly awful this place is

Called in to Seaham hall for a cream tea with a friend. Directed to the bar area which was unstaffed. Waited 10 minutes then had to go looking for staff to serve us. We were served cold coffee. Had to go looking for staff to advise of this, no one to be found. Eventually caught the attention of a passing waitress who renewed coffees to slightly warmer ones. Scones were beautiful but no one came to check if we were happy and I again had to look for someone to pay the bill. Very disappointing service for what is meant to be a 5 star hotel!

At £28 per person from one of the top hotels in the North East I was expecting a lot better, 4 small finger sandwiches each, 4 scones and small cakes. Not a lot of effort and no selection of desserts cakes and pastries as advertised. I had a flat white which was cold so asked for another and received a cold cappuccino! We had been gifted afternoon tea for 2 as a birthday gift (£56) and so I emailed the hotel to ask if I brought my niece and nephew would I have to buy another two teas and was told no. We were seated and I gave my gift voucher to the staff explained it was two teas. Embarrassingly we were charged £56 for an additional two teas. Also £11 for a glass of wine!! Not recommended at all. Very disappointing.

We went on a Thursday dinner, 4 people in the queue before me, it took nearly 30 minutes to be served. One man working on his own, didn't have a clue what he was doing, only putting enough chips in for a couple of orders and then having to go and get more. Didn't take anyone's fish/extras orders until they were at the till, so then had to wait until he disappeared to go get the fish and bring it back and cook it. Didn't serve anyone else while waiting for the stuff to cook. Chips were covered in thick brown grease and looked grey. Tasted about as good as they looked. Cash only and he couldn't work out the change, tried to short change me by £5. Definitely would not recommend or go back again.
