The best restaurants serving British food in Wakefield Yorkshire and The Humber

This cafe is becoming a waste of time. Last three visits over a couple of months including today, has seen us turned away because they had run out of food, then, having booked a meal for 4 and confirmed via telephone that all was available, on the next visit we turned up to find 50% of the menu including drinks, was not available. Even the waitress was embarrassed. Today arriving at 12.10pm we were informed that they had been very busy that morning, were short staffed and were not accepting anyone else. Perhaps someone should define the word cafe to the owners. If this cafe goes out of business it will be no surprise. Such a shame as it does do very good food.

When walking into the pub everything seemed to be good, the location and the decor was above standard. The two younger bartenders were very friendly and everything seemed to be going well until the bulldog chewing a wasp looking ‘lady’ with a buzz cut began to treat me and my friends like we’d kicked her pet cat. ‘she’ swore like a sailor and even though she appeared to be wearing rigger boots after a tough day labouring for the local bricky ‘she’ mocked my friends trainers, we left shortly after this. I would highly recommend some customer service training.

Food was awful. Worst fish and chips in Castleford. Curry sauce tasted watered down and the mushy peas was awful. Staff hygiene was poor. Continued to handle food when had cold without washing hands and had attitude problems when it comes to disabilities and constantly felt ignored.
