The best restaurants serving British food in Hawes Side Blackpool North West

As a treat, we booked (The Cottage) for a chippy tea, as always good. We arrived on time and had to wait a good few mins, although seemed not very buzzy. Shown to our table and that was when things got bad. people were turned away and told 45min delay for food. people that had booked also did not stay and left for same reason. After 20 min we asked for menu, another 15 mins ordered, just two staff on. Drinks arrived, meal ok but no sign of bread and butter that should have arrived with meal. Asked finally for bill and a discount for poor service and lack of some items of the order. offered £5 off. Very disappointed. There was other moaning from other tables and still the place was half empty. All round it seemed the place was either under new management that did not have a clue, or was being run down? poor show and a real shame. Will not be going back.
