This was my second visit. On my first visit my partner and I had breakfast, the portions were good and the food was tasty and freshly prepared. We chose to return on the 20th of January for lunch. We did not book but managed to get a table. Despite it being a cold Monday there were plenty of other diners. We opted to try four dishes (chicken shawarma, pork belly, hakei and parsnip and sprout pakoras)the small size …with a side of bread with olive oil. The service was good and when the food arrived it was well presented and colourful. We had a lovely experience sharing the dishes and they were all very tasty. The cost was more than we would normally pay for lunch out but this was a special occasion, with less dishes it would have still been enjoyable. I would definitely return, it’s worth a visit.

A truly awful experience. We got to the café at 2.50pm, only to be told that they we now only serving drinks and cakes, due to a backlog, although disappointing, as the closure time was 4pm, we decided to take a table and order a Latte, an Americano, and a Cherry Bakewell. Whilst seated, the small room was very cramped with as many tables as they could fit it, making it so loud, it was hard to hold a conversation, as it was that full. We wait around 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive, and thought the Cherry Bakewell would follow. After 5 minutes we asked one of the servers about this and the response was “There is a backlog”.. The Cherry Bakewell eventually arrived 5 minutes after this, by which time we had finished our drinks. Even if we had asked for more drinks, this would have been caught in the “backlog”..! On the food & Drinks - The coffee was awful and Cherry Bakewell, turned out to be a cake on such a small plate, it was impossible not to drop some of it on the table whilst trying to eat into it. The cost of this truly awful experience was £13.90 The problem on service is clear to see, not enough backroom staff to accommodate the number of tables they have crammed into such a small space. If you want to be sitting in a crammed room, waiting for service and paying top money to be treated like cattle, then this is the place for you.
