I had a late lunch in The Red Lion this lunchtime. First time I had been in the pub in 5 years but with new management and hearing great things since the new owners took over I was keen to give it a try. Bar staff were very welcoming to me and my Cavapoo. Lovely friendly atmosphere and spotlessly clean. I ordered a scampi, fries and peas. It was delicious and too much for me to finish it. I will definitely be back soon with the family 👍🏼

This was from 2020 but couldn’t select an earlier date. I bought a round of teas/coffees on a cold rainy morning for builders and myself. The woman told me some drinks were not available, so she pointed out the available drinks on the menu. With that, I ordered myself a large latte (which was around £3 from memory). I had to wait outside because of covid so I didn’t see the drinks being made. When I got back to site, I took the lid off to add sugar, expecting to see a frothy milky latte and I was extremely annoyed to find that they had blatantly charged me £3 for a very dark watery instant coffee with the tiniest amount of milk added. I tried a small amount, but it wasn’t nice and was nowhere near resembling a latte, so I threw it away. I want to support local business, and it may have been a teething issue. I might try again if I’m desperate, but I will check what I am given before leaving if there is a next time, and review my score accordingly.
