The best restaurants in Bunhill Islington London

One of the best Indian food we had after long time at Bengal Tiger restaurant. Absolutely brilliant atmosphere, very well decor. Staff are attentive and helpful well as very tasty and delicious food...!

This is going to be an unusual review in that I can't think of another restaurant where I've enjoyed the food very much whilst taking an active dislike to the restaurant interior. The quality of food is all that really matters, right? If so, please read the next paragraph and ignore what follows it! My wife had already visited Tanakatsu several times with her friends. We both had a lunchtime bento box, which was expertly prepared with wonderfully crisp pork katsu, tasty salmon teriyaki on good quality rice, an excellent pumpkin croquette, a small selection of high-class sushi and a fine side salad on which you could drizzle the owner's "mighty dressing", served with miso soup. I really couldn't fault it. Another big tick from me for the modest 7.5% service charge. So what about the internal layout? It's actually quite spacious with plenty of natural light but the internal concrete walls were for me unappealing and the overall decor off-putting. Along two walls are some tightly spaced and rather small tables. The one we were shown to was unpleasantly sticky and our conversation drowned by an exceptionally loud man next to us conducting a job interview in a domineering manner. On the other sides were two long 'shelves' which I suppose was the inspiration for the unusual restaurant name ('tana' = 'shelf'). I can understand the logic - it makes it easier to accommodate solo diners - but surely the point of sitting diners side by side is that there should be something more interesting to look at than a very uninspiring street or concrete wall. Also it leaves so much wasted floorspace in the middle! Anyway if you think these observations petty and unnecessary - just go there and you'll have a really good meal.

Very cute cafe with two outdoor tables and some indoor swats aswell. Not ideal for studying but super cute for a catchup. The coffee is really nice and is made with a proper espresso machine ans great breans. There are alternative milk options (almond, soy, oat) and they also have matcha. They also do sandwiches and cookies etc. But I didn‘t see any gf/df options. The cafe is Ukranian and the barista is super kind and fast. Definitely a cafe to go to!

I went here yesterday to chill whilst my partner was out watching the football with his friends. The welcome was amazing, as were the potato braves! We don’t live too far from there and will definitely return for dinner one evening. I can see why it’s a hit with such locals, a beautiful restaurant.

Great ambience. Pudding was tasty. The service was great. Friendly and accommodating staff. We will difinately go back.

This place deserves as much credit as it can get. It easily matches the upper end burger joints for half the price and a vibing atmosphere.

Honestly hands down the sickest burrito in town. Hilarioius and friendly staff always make me feel so welcome and warm inside. The guacamole is so SICK and there spicey hot sauce is out off it’s everloving mammarys! GO HERE

Amazing sushi, really friendly staff and reasonably priced. Amazing sushi! Tucked away down a side street. Highly recommended.

Trip back to London and an hidden old lunch time haunt Service with a smile and food that makes you want to go back again and again. Totally worth the walk from the station, great to tuck into the wrap and chicken. Wish you well and see you again sooner than 5 years

Un fresco de limón y lima en cada habitación. . . . ❤ Su outlook en la cosas pequeñas y el servicio al cliente se destaca. Las habitaciones son de bombproof tranquilidad total, la mejor noche de sueño camas excelentes, incluso la víspera de año nuevo, aunque me fui a la cama a las 4 de la mañana el último de los juerguistas de Le Chiffre. Mi compañero dijo que no oí nada!Es mi favorito en el orificio del perno en Londres. ❤
