Christmas lunch . Fantastic atmosphere ,felt truly welcome from Steph & Lynsey . All the staff worked so hard and couldn’t fault it . Christmas Lunch can always be challenging but at the Thatchers they got it right . Looking forward to supporting The Thatchers for 2025 a real traditional Pub . Thanks again for a great day .

The Chequers looks amazing having been renovated but retains its original character with beams etc. Excellent menu for families as well as couples etc at a very attractive price. Mine host, Terry, and his wife are Excellent hosts and work extremely hard to make it the success it is, and to remain the hub of the village. Highly recommended.

The chief shouting at the front of house staff, in an patronising way created an awful atmosphere in the restaurant and ruined our dining experience.

Excellent pub with fine selection of real ale. We received a warm welcome and were served quickly and professionally with our drinks. On a whim we decided to have lunch which was superb: I enjoyed the home made mince and onion pie in suet pastry with beautifully cooked vegetables, and my husband enjoyed the Vegetable and Quorn curry. The pub had a good crowd of regulars which made for a happy and community atmosphere. The pub is old style- just as we like it; spotlessly clean and traditional in all regards. Highly recommend this pub and look forward to visiting again when next in Bures.
