The best restaurants in Houghton Hall Central Bedfordshire East of England

I visited at the weekend to see a friend, and I ordered the breakfast pancakes, at almost £9.50. The pancakes were tiny, and didn’t have a lot of maple syrup on. There was one piece of extremely thin bacon between one of the pancakes and one sausage - it was very disappointing for the amount charged. The coffee was nice, however they don’t bring it to the table so you have to go and get it from the counter. Personally, I won’t be returning - there are plenty of other nicer coffee shops around which are better value for money.

A budget Christmas meal - for less the £10 you cannot complain When you pay for a budget Christmas meal - for less the £10 you really cannot complain. Morrisons offer their Christmas meals from mid November - and bah- humbug Christmas doesn't start until December - but with 2 courses for £9.99 and three courses for £11.99 the experience is always entertaining. The staff are overworked and stressed as there are not enough canteen workers to take on the additional work of preparing the Christmas nosh. One customer complained that he didn't get an egg - and the staff patiently explained that an egg was not included. 10/10 for patience and politeness. The food was ok - we waited about 30 minutes for the meals - but they were edible and served fairly hot. The staff did not wear antlers - but you cannot expect everything. There were no Christmas carols being played in store - but that was perhaps acceptable for November. I would give our food 8/10 overall and as said - for less that £10 you really cannot grumble. If you want restaurant service then go to a restaurant and pay £90 for three Christmas meals - we had change from £30. Date of visit: November 2022
