Came here for lunch, really surprised by the quality of the food and the presentation. To die for. You reminded us what good eating is without paying a fortune. Students learning, I was in their shoes a few years ago and understand how stressful it can be. The atmosphere was nice, not too many people though I would personally suggest closing main door to avoid all the noise outside. I would definetly come again and recommend highly.
Gracias.
It's a takeaway. I ordered a delivery, didn't take long, half an hour or so, not particularly expensive, not bad.
Sadly I would have rated it five stars back in 2019 - they used to use high quality burgers like you'd get at the local butcher, now they're about the same as everyone else, not as bad as McD but decidedly average. They used to have bacon as an option on the burger but no more, maybe they've streamlined and have stuff pre-prepared - the chicken wrap certainly seems to be that way since 2020.
Chicken wrap used to be irregular shaped chunks of high quality chicken breast beautifully grilled, hand rolled wraps, which admittedly didn't stay together as easily as these new compressed, pre-made things - with whatever salad you want on it. Now they're sad, perfectly uniform tubes of chicken, lettuce and mayo. The chicken's crispy though, which is kind of nice, but the stuff they used to grill in the good old days was just bare breast. So to speak.
Don't get me wrong, it all tastes fine, but it feels a bit bait and switch, like the t-shirts and modern business practice in general i.e. have high quality hand made products and get five star reviews, then lessen the quality of materials and the preparation and uniqueness - speed up the output and maximise profit.
It's fine, it's OK quality, it's just no longer five stars sadly. Perhaps it was a change in management in 2020, or it's just profit driven. Maybe they weren't making enough money.
I don't know if they're no longer on the apps in general or if they go on and off the apps depending on if there's enough walk-in demand, but I couldn't order via app today so did a phone order. They didn't ask for my card details but fortunately I had cash on me.
I'm sad to say all this, because they were so good pre 2020, but this practice of profit over quality (assuming it is a practice and not just a change in management) is just plain wrong.
Having said all that, if you've previously enjoyed food from there since 2020 and you're wondering if it's still as nice as it was - it is.
We popped in here for a last minute dinner.
We ordered large chips and a 12-inch pizza, the pizza and chips were a good size for 2.
We ordered a margarita pizza with pepperoni and onion for extra toppings. After opening the box, mushrooms were on the pizza, too. It's not a problem if you like mushrooms, but I don't.
Eastenders only accept cash. Prices are good for London. If you want tomato ketchup in a big size pot, it costs 50p, but you can get it for free if you have the ketchup squirted on your chips.
It has a 4-star hygiene rating and was clean inside. I'd go back here for a quick bite to eat or food after a night out if I was in this area.
We have visited this cafe a few times and it is consistently good food at a good price. The omelettes are thick, tasty and very filling and the breakfasts are lovely. Topped off with good hot drinks!
Staying at the Celtic Royal again we decided to treat ourselves! Slightly put off by seemingly expensive menu but the portions were amazing and food cooked to a really high standard. And then, the puddings! Amazing choice and absolutely delicious! We’ll be back - I hope!
Altamente recomendado.
Great pub, we went here when staying in our caravan at a local campsite. The pub is decorated lovely and spotless. The staff friendly and professional. Lovely food, great service. Hope to go back soon.
