Hidden gem. Amazing Japanese food. Kaisu was fantastic. Crunchy rolls are a hit! To end the meal, matcha dorayaki sealed it. Definitely will return.

I’ve been OBSESSED with this place since moving locally - the crunchy crab sushi is gorgeous I’ve been getting it almost every day since finding it - absolutely one of my fav sushi spots.

So sad I didn't take a picture of the food here. I can't recommend it enough. We arrived at 9.30pm and were hosted by the loveliest waitress. We had the chicken dumplings, duck pancakes, miso aubergine sushi, crunchy salmon sushi and salmon cali rolls and I couldn't believe how fresh and beautiful it all was.

Fantastic quality sushi and hot dishes, a great place to get fish sushi for myself and meat sushi for my girlfriend, highly recommended

Six months ago,Deluxe sashimi set is rubbish, that day only two girl to Service ,no chef, everything food small (can not feel it how deluxe)Waste my money.

Popped in for a quick bite before going to Harry Potter Studios. Food was delicious and the service was fast.

Very fresh, great quality and lovely customer service. Even better that everything is halal. We had prawn dumplings (best we’ve had!) yellowtail carpaccio, tuna dragon roll, spicy salmon temaki, eel nigiri, yellowtail nigiri, gunkan and chefs special ramen with duck, chicken and prawn. Finished with chocolate mochi and green tea. Will be coming back!

Hidden gem that may possibly need a better location in Watford to truly thrive. The meals were all well cooked and promptly served, tasted great and was only equalled by the attentive and informative service. To learn that the meat was all halal was the icing on the cake. The food was really good, but going in you can see that's its a restaurant geared for takeout as its small and the atmosphere isn't great.

A friend and I got dinner here on a Sunday night and it was absolutely to die for. Makes you realise what good sushi is supposed to taste like! Even better than the Grove. My only note was that the music was a tad loud for me. But otherwise perfect. The service was excellent and it was a great place to spend our evening.

Very expensive and very small portions. All dishes were just supermarket ready made rice sushi . The Turkish restaurant it replaced was much better. Never again. Nothing to do with Japan but all to fool you to pay more for Tesco Express meal deal quality ready made sushi 🍣. Only grace was that we were the only customers so had all space to us . Save your money and buy directly from. Tesco express nearby if you fancy Sushi 🍣. Hope it closes down soon and be replaced by someone who really cooks food instead of making 5 -10 portions out of one supermarket sushi 🍣 packet. Even the Miso soup was only 2-3 tablespoons of salted water. We eat out every other day and this was the worst experience in terms of portion size and quality of food considering this is the most expensive restaurant in our area. Cannot believe other fake food blogger reviews as they may be making special meals for food bloggers and treating everyone else differently.

Very good fresh made food. We had a great lunch experience. It feels like a family run business with all the positives and negatives of the case. Highly recommended.

One of the best hidden gems in Watford. They make authentic Japanese food.

Ordered food from here online. Took over 2 hours to arrive and when it did half the order was missing. The restaurant suggested £20 back which wouldn’t have even covered the missing items. Don’t bother.

I had lunch today there and I have to say the food was very nice. We ordered some dumplings, nigiri, maki, etc etc and I was very pleased with everything really. I'd personally recommend the crunchy rolls, the crab one was so good. The waitress was nice, the music was at a right volume and appropriate for the establishment. They also had a high chair for my baby. Everything was very nice, I will definitely come back when I'm around in Watford!

Delicious food and lovely place! We went there half an hour before closing so we ordered in advance and the lady staff was lovely there. Fried Prawn Gyoza would be my fave! We ordered 4 types of sushi rolls and all of them were amazing!! Will visit again soon and try the other dishes as well.

We’ve eaten in a lot of Sushi places across the world and this was one of the best ever. It’s a simple restaurant in a location a bit out of the way (20 min walk from centre, 10 from station) bit worth it. They are obviously really focused on producing very high quality food to attract customers. Can’t recommend the place highly enough

What an absolute gem! We booked to have lunch today, at our daughters request for sushi for her birthday, not knowing what to expect. The dining room is charming, our serve was lovely and offered recommendations. The menu was great with a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options and the food was SO good!!! We will absolutely be back again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for tasty, authentic Japanese food in a lovely atmosphere. Thank you Zoya xo

Well what a nice surprise. Location is quite hidden. But we were lucky enough to come here when it was empty. So peaceful. And they played nice acoustic tracks. Though not Japanese, the songs were very calming. The food was great. Would recommend trying this place.

The food here is AMAZING so fresh and such good value for money! My first time ordering but it will not be my last. The salmon sashimi melts in your mouth, the seaweed salad is so morish.. 10/10

Excellent! Some of the best vegetarian sushi I’ve ever had. The lady was very nice and recommended the aubergine/miso roll, which was great! Nice prawn katsu and chocolate/green tea dorayaki, too 😊 absolutely recommend!

I couldn't believe I went to the same restaurant two times on the same day, for lunch and dinner, but I did! I'm so impressed by the quality of the food and the variety in the menu, as well as the friendliness of staff. It is not easy to find good Japanese and Asian food in Watford. I'm delighted to have found Zoya!

Good sushi rolls. Poke bowl was just ok. We collected the order and no chop sticks were added in the bag.

Food was fresh, displayed perfectly and the service was impeccable. It was my first time eating sushi at a restaurant but my other half is a big sushi lover, he said it was extremely tasty and well priced. We will be coming back to try more things. Thankyou for a lovely meal

I thought the food was OK, I had beef red curry, which in my opinion could have been a bit more spicy & flavoursome, was also lacking on the amount of beef. Special fried rice was very tasty and the salt/pepper squid was soft but also missing something. I'll be back to try the sushi, the pics look very tempting. The staff were very friendly and welcoming but the restaurant was freezing cold, I was going to eat in but didn't fancy eating with a hat & coat on. So, I went back and tried the Sushi, wow, really really nice, so much so it's probably in my top 5 tasting sushi places, full of flavour and freshly made. I'll definitely be back for more

A lovely family run restaurant. The food was delicious with a different selection of sushi, which you wouldn't find elsewhere. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I went there with my family and my kids insisting on giving this place 10 stars. A really nice local gem. We will certainly be back.

I have had take aways from here several times and the sushi has always been exceptional! Tonight we had dinner here and it did not disappoint at all! Best sushi I have had!

Went for casual lunch today with my friend and was surprised how delicious the food was! It all tasted fresh although we were the only people there at the time. We both had Ramen and shared some sushi and kaiso salad and some dumplings! Recommend!

I've been here with my daughter recently and the lady who served us was so nice and kind, offering to turn the heat on for us as it was freezing outside (and quite late), also taking time to explain us the food on the menu. The shop was neat and tidy. Food delicious. Thank you, we will definitely return!

Just had Saturday lunch here instead of heading into Watford centre. The menu is very diverse and we sampled hot (duck spring rolls) and cold (various sashimi and sushi) dishes. Everything was excellent, lovely and fresh and really tasty. Way better than London and really good prices This is a new business so it needs support from locals. Give it a go!

We are so fortunate to have this place just a few minutes drive away from home . Absolutely bang in the money. Good is actually hot and delicious. We ordered some sushi rolls , Thai green curry and Eel Donburi which was “Very Oishii! “ for me . The amount of sauce on the eel is just right which gives the dish a perfect rounded flavor. Service was delightful and very professional. Love this place and will continue to visit .

Small and cosy place with delicious sushi. We had different rols and they were all fresh and delicious. We enjoyed it a lot and will definitely come back in our next trip to Watford. Staf was very friendly.

My wife and I had been to Zoya a few times with our friends from church. We love Kaisu, Chicken Karaage, Peking Duck Pancake, Chicken Gyoza, Sushi and Chicken Katsu and Chicken Teriyaki Donburi were very delicious. The staffs were very friendly. We also recommended to our friends and a few of them already been there and they love the food and friendly service.

Best sushi & Japanese home-style cooking dishes night ever ! Amazing dumplings and great ramen . I’d definitely recommend yellow tail carpaccio and would return there myself . And salmon sashimi is superb, fresh , rich and so soft that ‘s almost dissolved in my mouth . The desserts were particularly tasty . Great , friendly staffs & service . Plus great good vale for money .

You don’t get quality sushi at Watford, until this place came to town! We had dinner booked for two at Zoya. The team were super friendly and the food was lovely.

Poke rice with sashimi is of high quality. My son loves the Ramen as well. The staff is super friendly. Can’t miss the home made salad sauce in the poke rice. The sauce is really nice! Must return again sometime later.

Really friendly service, and the sushi is so good. Different flavours that I’ve not had in other sushi restaurants, good portions and you can tell everything is freshly prepared! I’d definitely recommend Zoya, try the crispy rice and the green dragon rolls, they were so good! I’ll definitely be making this my go to sushi in Watford, it’s the best I’ve had so far around the area!

We got the veggie crunch rolls, dragon salmon rolls, salmon maki and a chicken katsu curry. The food was LOVELY and tasted fresh. Staff were sweet and welcoming when we popped in to order and also gave us free prawn crackers, which is always appreciated 🥰 Really glad to have this gem in our neighbourhood and defo recommend you try it out!
