Ziya Restaurant in Manchester

Sandesh and his team made amazing food for my birthday. The Pani Puri were great fun as a starter. Restaurant was warm, and he is very generous. The service was a little slow, but it won’t stop me going again or recommending it!

The service was prompt and polite. The tandoori naan and Amritasari fish was delicious!

Food was very good, accommodated to our preferred high levels of spice, chicken chettinad is a go to!! Same for the egg and chicken biryani, naan is as expected nice size, kindly server by Bisma who was excellent and provided extra utensils or glasses as requested and the price was fair for the amount we ordered, only downfall is upstairs needs to be open if there are events or gigs on below as mixing alcohol with family friendly environment is difficult. Good experience still adhered to our request to seat us upstairs very Good Friday 13th left @ 22:47 happy as ever :) photos might be in a peers post

Bisma and Jahnvi Excellent Service

I first came to ziya in 2018 when I moved to Manchester for university. After trying out various curry houses on the curry mile I decided to try Ziya. Since then, my life has improved massively and that’s because of ziya. I’ve taken my family members, my friends and lover here and everyone agrees it is without a doubt the best curry house ever. Service is amazing but the food is next level. DEFINITELY COME HERE !!!! BISMA the waitress is incredible

What a joke. Three tiny pieces of chicken for £7.50?! Absolutely ridiculous. The portion size is laughable, and the price is outrageous for what you get. I won’t be coming back, and I definitely don’t recommend this place to anyone looking for value for their money. Save your time and wallet—go elsewhere.

Best authentic North Indian food spot in Manchester. I have been here multiple times and it is one of my fav spot for Indian food. Their butter chicken and chicken biriyani is a must try.

It was a rainy and cold night in Manchester. Some colleagues suggested having dinner, and I decided to join them. Little did I know that someone would propose going to a curry restaurant. Why? I asked myself with every fibre of my being. It is not that I despise curry, but my past experiences have often been a chaotic blend of flavours competing with one another, leaving me wondering what exactly I had eaten. Resigned to the same fate, I arrived at this establishment, which proudly advertised itself as the winner of the Curry Award in 2021. "Wonderful!" I thought sarcastically. "If only we had come three years ago to confirm that." My colleagues’ excitement over the menu struck me as a naïve enthusiasm to fulfil their culinary desires. The vast array of curry options was baffling. I eventually opted for lamb with lentils, as lentils evoke fond memories of my childhood. I also ordered a chilli garlic naan bread, cynically assuming it would be a pre-made frozen option. My colleagues chose other dishes from the extensive menu. When the food arrived, I took my first spoonful of lamb and lentils. Do you recall the scene in Ratatouille where the stern food critic, fully expecting disappointment, is suddenly transported back to his childhood through the magic of one bite? That was my experience. The lamb was tender, melting in my mouth while retaining its integrity on the plate. The flavours were orchestrated like a flawless symphony—no chaotic clash of spices, just harmony. The spiciness was subtle, distinct, and in perfect balance with the other flavours. The naan bread, far from being pre-made, was fresh, warm, and an ideal companion—crispy in the right places and soft where it mattered. Still in disbelief, I sampled the dishes my colleagues were generous enough to share. Astonishing! The saffron chicken tikka was not just a treat for the palate but a delight for the senses, with its aroma enhancing every bite. The pilau and basmati rice were equally impressive—fragrant, perfectly cooked, and the ideal accompaniment to the curries. The food was plentiful and beautifully presented, reminiscent of an Olympic feast. Despite the variety of dishes, each retained its distinct identity, and my taste buds never felt overwhelmed. The delicate balance of spices and the seamless harmony of ingredients convinced me of a new world of curry that had been waiting to be rediscovered. I am well aware of the immense skill and care required to create such culinary masterpieces, particularly when dealing with the complexity of Indian cuisine. It is a challenge that borders on alchemy—achieving the perfect balance between countless elements. In this restaurant, they have truly mastered that art.

We went for a group dinner today for 11 people. The food and atmosphere at the restaurant is quite good. We are all very pleased. The quantity of food is also good. Also, we got some student discounts (available only Monday to Thursday). Overall a nice experience.

I had an amazing experience at ziya The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding flavorful, beautifully presented, and perfectly cooked. The Rahara lamb with pulao rice was a highlight. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great food and excellent service. I’ll definitely be back! Oh it was so good I had to order a takeaway.

When ordering the lamb shank, the option for rice or naan bread came up. I selected rice thinking it came as a full meal. It did not & when I phoned up I was told this misunderstanding has been made known to the restaurant. Remove the options,

Ziya go above and beyond to make an event run smoothly. They handle our large bookings incredibly well and the food and service are outstanding, I'd definitely recommend and we'll be returning 🙂

We placed a big and expensive order and 90% of the dishes were extremely hot. We couldn't eat the majority of our order and there was nothing on the menu to indicate which dishes are hot and which ones aren't.

Looked for a restaurant near a venue we planned to visit and google came up with Ziya and they didn’t disappoint ! The food is amazing and lots to try that we haven’t seen before and all the staff were amazing, they really love the dishes they are describing and are all genuinely nice people , would love to go again

An absolutely delectable delight to have the buffet at this place. The atmosphere was outstanding and the food was unbelievable. It gave an authentic taste that we all loved and the people were kind and helpful. Would come again for sure.

The food was great, we ordered the chicken jalfrezi and the the chicken tikka, also the pani puri and saffron biryani. The chicken tikka was a rather small plate, I would've expected more. As far as price goes, it's a bit on the pricey side, considering the portion. However, service was great; our server Akshita was excellent.

This place is top! I had their lunch buffet with my friends and everything was delicious! I believe it was south Indian street food today, all made with fresh ingredients and full of exciting flavours. The staff gave us a warm welcome and were super friendly throughout the meal. This is the first time I had food here. The ambience was good. Food was served hot and there was no long waiting time. The host was very accommodating. Overall enjoyed the meal. Standout dish was their meat platter.

My group of 30 preordered hot/mild/veggie curries. We were served 90 mins after arrival. There wasn’t enough and they ran out. No water on the table, drinks took 45 mins.

Really affordable and delicious north Indian food. The curries are spicy and great value. I often have 1 to share with my girlfriend with some roti too. Akshata served us today and she was lovely. Very friendly and understanding. Our friend Anusha also works here and has served us before... She is also super friendly and always beaming with happiness. Great staff! I highly recommend it. Live music on some nights also.

What an amazing time me and my family had at Ziya Asian Grill! Amazing service, amazing food and an INCREDIBLE expeience! Devang was such a lovely owner, he and staff made sure that we had an impeccable experience. Speaking about the food, Lamb Shank Roganjosh is a must try! The whistle biryani is such a unique concept that I personally havent seen! 10/10 A must try!

The best restaurant in the Rushholme area. Posh and suave, good seating and quality gentry. Our server that day was extra kind even though it was his last day in the restaurant, as he was planning to move to Bristol to attend university. Shows Great commitment! Kudos to the owners for hiring such dedicated staff.

I just celebrated my 21st birthday here and it was truly the perfect experience and all my guests were left very happy. The Bombay chicken curry buffet was phenomenal and the staff were attentive and very kind and friendly. Not only would I recommend this Indian restaurant for a dinner out, but also for hosting your private event here! I will be returning very soon to taste the rest of the menu :)

I went there with my husband to have some nice time and food but they totally ruined our time and food was so bad can't explain.We ordered k lamp karahi(it's the worse karahi i ever ate) then we ordered jalfrezi and it was like a desi salan yukk so so bad food.They don't even pack your leftovers.Poor service.Won't recommend.

All good and curries were very spicy. Including the korma. But they willingly gave yogurt to help cool it, if your good with spice the food was very nice. Although helpful and nice, service was slow and 2 items we ordered didn't come. But taken off the bill when pointed out to the server. Seemed a bit pricey including the drinks. Desserts are expensive and but not worth the money. Like the cheesecake being a frozen £1 from Iceland kind. However I would still go again as the food was nice and fresh.

Waited 20mins at our table. No menus given, nobody came to table to ask us what we wanted. We were sat in front of where the food was being made and served but still we were not acknowledged. In the end, we got up to leave and then suddenly one of the staff spoke to us. We left, the managers stood on staircase, watching us leave and offered no apology. Sadly we won't be back.

Me , my mum and my son visited. The venue is gorgeous! Our food was absolutely perfect , we ate it super quick (because it was so good) so didn’t actually get photos of our mains,, the staff were absolutely amazing , the manager lady even gave my 6 month old a cuddle and walked him around the venue it was the sweetest thing ever. We will defo be back it was just the perfect evening..thank you ❤️

Been lots of times- consistently good. Food is not heavy/greasy- tastes healthy and delicious. Highly recommended as the best in Rusholme- a lot better than any others I’ve been to.

The atmosphere was incredibly cozy, with warm lighting and soft music setting the perfect mood. The menu was a delightful mix of classic dishes with a modern twist. The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. Overall, this restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered. I don’t often leave reviews but the food was outstanding and the best curry I have had in a long time. Shared a chicken jalfrezi and chicken rogan josh with my partner. Both dishes came out piping hot, large portions and plenty of meat that literally fell apart. Will definitely return here again.

My favorite restaurant in Rusholme. Food is always fresh and delicious. Quick service and reasonably priced.

Lamb roghan josh was amazing. Food was hot. Service was v fast. Chicken kolhapuri and chicken chilli were great. Lamb and chicken buryani were served in mini pressure cookers. However I would just say that biryani is meant to be in layers where meat is cooked like a curry and then topped with boiled rice, coriander and mint with kewra essence mixed with egg yellow colour on top . In pressure cooker rice were more like just lamb cooked with rice.

We actually came to go to a restaurant over the road but it was incredibly busy. We happened across Ziya as it smelled delicious whilst we were reading the menu outside. We were not disappointed at all! Plenty of vegetarian options and they were cooked to desired spice. Naan breads and rice were delightful. The staff were all very pleasant helping us choose dishes we had never eaten before and all of them having time for our 3 month old daughter who wasn’t happy to dine at our preferred time 🤣😂. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. 5* from Scotland!

Amazing vibe and great food I had in the whole Manchester. The staff was grt and very interactive and when we came here there was live band happening too. Must try VADAPAV here guys.
