Zenn Liverpool in Liverpool

I personally love a bottomless brunch and have tired many across Liverpool but found the service in Zenn to be particularly slow. I constantly felt like I was having to flag down a waiter to ask for a drink. Nobody checked on us to see if the drinks or food where OK. We received 6 drinks in the 1.5hrs which cost us £45 each not including the tip: The food was ok, definitely not like the large portions I’ve had in bottomless brunches. When we received the bill it was £30 over the charge it should have been (including the 12.5% tip they added) Nobody was dancing or having a really good time and vibrant atmosphere. Personally I wouldn’t return I found so many other places in Liverpool to be of better value for money and experience.

Stumbled across this restaurant on a night out and decided to give it a try and my god, we didn’t regret it! The food was delicious, even managed to get a roast dinner. My party all had various dishes from the noodles, to the sharing platter and the spring rolls. The Popcorn was absolutely delicious and something we’ve all never tried before. I’d absolutely recommend the roast dinner. Great atmosphere and beautiful inside. Service was fantastic and absolutely couldn’t fault the place at all.

Fab place if you’re looking to celebrate or just for an evening out that’s a little bit more special.

Not too sure why we were let in and able to buy a lot of drinks if we could not sit down anywhere. When we did sit down we kept getting told to leave in 20 minutes from three different staff members. Then to top it off the floor manager I presume, said to my mum ‘drop the attitude’ when she asked why we couldn’t sit here for longer. Small man with a big ego I suppose… Not too sure who Zenn think they are? Is it supposed to be select? They’re happy to take your money but not happy to provide a decent service. Will not reccomend nor return.

This week I visited Zenn to try their new menu and I was very impressed from the minute I walked through the door! I loved everything about the venue. It’s big, stylish and very spacious. Theres lots of luxurious booths which I’m obsessed with, and there’s a large rooftop space which is perfect for the summer but also has heating and is covered for this time of the year. It’s such a special and versatile venue with a really nice vibe. The food is delicious with a large new Asian Inspired menu to choose from along with Classic Dishes too - I was spoilt for choice. You can try anything from Sushi, Oysters or Steak and everything in between! We tried the Sharing Platter which had Chicken Satay Skewers, Japanese Bon Bon’s, Tempura Prawns, Sticky Beef and Coconut Rice, Prawn Crackers, and a selection of Sushi. This was a perfect combination and a great way to try a selection of food. All of which was delicious, especially the Tempura Prawns and Sushi. We also tried the Oysters and the Bread and Dipping Oil. I’ve never tried oysters before and I was pleasantly surprised. After dinner we had a cocktail and mocktail and explored the venue space including the roof top which was fabulous. It was covered in fairy lights and looked beautiful. The prices are competitive, the service is excellent and you can even book the biggest private booths I’ve ever seen which can come with your own personal hostess. I highly recommend a visit to Zenn, whether it be for a week night treat, a Bottomless Brunch, Sunday Lunch or Afternoon Tea - you are guaranteed a fantastic time!

The best Sunday night tea-time experience I have had. Me and my company had our fill of a meze style Pan-Asian mini and private buffet, complimented with various sweet dishes for dessert. The food in its variation was beautiful, though the zsechuan crispy & sticky chilli beef was in my opinion not as tasty as previously and in the past when I have ordered it. Still, the food was REALLY GOOD. The level of service provided was quite amazing, I cannot fault our treatment from our host during our stay (Macie) who went above and beyond and was very understanding and considerate with the "Lactose Intolerant" company I had in regards to the Pan-Asian style cuisine and the sweet treat desserts provided. Thank you very much ZENN and my host Macie for a brilliant experience. I will no doubt be seeing you again soon - Samuel

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great with a singer on, who was very good, I give three stars for service because when we first got there we had a lovely young lad looking after us but he went home and we got a young girl, you could tell she didn't like her job and didn't want to be there, it hasn't put us off going again because the food was delicious

Unfortunately this would have been a 3/5 but the service at the end topped off the whole experience and it’s dropped to a 2/5. The service from the get go was surly, rude and we were made to feel like inconveniences. They also seem to be focusing heavily on bottomless brunch and hen parties which is fine, but then don’t offer afternoon tea if you a) don’t want to do it and make customers feel like inconveniences and b) have turned the restaurant into a nightclub, it just doesn’t work. We got asked for drinks without being told what came with the afternoon tea or even offered a hot drinks menu, we were kept in the dark of what was actually happening and had to check they knew we were there for afternoon tea and what we were meant to be being served. The food was average with the savoury actually being quite good but the sweet was shop bought and very standard. The image of the afternoon tea was also very different to what we received. We received no soy sauce for the sushi and only 4 sweet items not 5 as displayed. The service at the end when we asked for the bill was very rude. We weren’t checked up on, not asked for more drinks and were made to feel very uncomfortable. Overall not a great experience and we wouldn’t return.

Same dull boring music for the 3 hours I was there. Ordered rare steak, came back well done. It was replaced, but waiter explained that some came out rare and some came out medium. Not really an excuse considering the meal cost 76 pound. Sticky toffee pudding was like cardboard. Portions may as well been a kids meal. Over priced drinks and nothing on draft, all bottles. Toilets was disgusting. Paper all over the floors, half of the taps didn't work. Shabby, really unhelpful staff. Will not be returning

Had a bottomless brunch, food was great and cocktails was amazing. Could of been a bit quicker with the cocktails but they brought a load at the end!! Strawberry daiquiri was unreal!! Haris our waiter was great! Thank you - I would come back definitely

We visited Zenn as the exterior of the building looks so inviting. Inside looks like a seedy 80s nightclub, including tears in the upholstery & sticky surfaces. The staff were friendly & pleasant. “Atmospheric music” was loud & overbearing. The food looks a lot better than its tastes. The meat dishes were completely bland, lukewarm at best and even salt & pepper couldn’t rescue them. The side dishes were the best part of the meal. The salt & chilli chips & special noodles were very nice. Incredibly disappointed with the whole experience. Would neither return nor recommend

Went for a bottomless brunch to celebrate a friends new job, what an amazing experience! The food, service and atmosphere was on point and I would recommend this so much to everyone! Staff were so helpful and Charlotte the reservations manager was unbelievably friendly and nice!

This place is by far one of the best places in Liverpool quality food and music will set anyone up for a good night me and my friends had great fun visiting here and all the staff were really friendly and helpful, service was 100% would highly recommend this place

We visited recently on a Saturday afternoon and booked the BBQ rooftop menu. We had a great time, the music was chilled and the vibe was wonderful. I was apprehensive that it may be a bit too young of a vibe for us 40+ something's but I was totally put at ease when we arrived and couldn't have been more wrong! With parties of all ages we felt really comfortable. The service from Danielle was attentive, friendly and she helped with recommendations with the food and gave us some great cocktail recommendations too. We ordered some some places, tempura prawns and the calamari - both were cooked perfectly and we enjoyed the halloumi dish too! For mains we ordered the peppered steak - served perfectly Pink like I asked for, and we got the cheeseburger which was also really good. The Cajun wedges Danielle recommended were insanely good too! We would 100% come back on a Saturday afternoon, great staff, great vibe and beautiful rooftop!

Had my baby shower here and can’t speak more highly of the place. So helpful when organising the event for over 60 people, easy to get in touch with and was on hand for all aspects of the event, they even helped with the decorations. Started downstairs with a meal, where we were given the choice of afternoon tea or Sunday roast; both were delicious. There was a live singer which helped create an even better atmosphere. Then afterwards we headed up to the rooftop where I’d hired a DJ and we carried on the party. The staff even brought all my decorations up from the ground floor. After the event the team kept all my belongings safe until I came to collect a few days later, there really was nothing that was too much trouble. Loved it that much I’ve just booked my birthday here. Great venue, great food, great service. Special mention to Rob who was amazing from start to finish.

First time visiting zenn last night and I think it’s become my new favourite place by far. Food, atmosphere, service & music was all incredible! Can’t recommend it enough! Will 100% be returning again.

I went to Zenn for the first time last night and it did not disappoint at all! I had the duck rolls and a chicken salad and it was delicious. The cocktails are spot on and The staff couldn’t of been better, me and my partner will defo be going back soon.

I’ve been to Zenn Liverpool Twice now and the level of service is faultless. I like to eat somewhere with an atmosphere and Zenn definitely gives that, it has a really good vibe and the staff can’t do enough to make sure you are enjoying your evening. The food is gorgeous and there is a god variety on the menu and the signature cocktails are unreal. I would say it starts to get lively around 10pm and there were dancers on which gave the place a little something extra. It’s definitely somewhere I will be recommending to my friends.

Very disappointed with a service .Not only been ignored whole time ,waiter was so confused giving our food to someone else been asking to get water for our table twice unfortunately still never got it .Loud swearing staff literally next to out table not best experience at all 😳

Went there for my friends birthday… And was met with nothing but disappointment, considering I’ve been wanting to go there for months. Considering the prices you’re paying, the portions were smaller than the meals I feed my cat. How a starter and a main come on the same plate? I don’t know. The service… Was appalling, not a single waitress smiled at us, they were all significantly rude, and looked down at us, with a facial expression as though they looked like they hated their lives. The service staff also kept mithering us about leaving so they could use the table for other guests, despite us booking for two hours. Would NOT recommend. Perhaps they treat you differently if you pay extra for the roof?:) However the bouncers were lovely gentleman, I will give them that, it’s a shame they don’t work for a more respectful restaurant with nice staff.

I got gifted an afternoon tea from buyagift as a present. Overall verdict: disappointing. The gift was for a terrace rooftop afternoon tea, we were sat on the ground floor. We visited at 1:30pm on a Saturday, there was no other guests at the venue. When we arrived, we were seated instantly, but the host left and said nothing, as the voucher said roof experience, we were expecting to be moved later, but 20 minutes later the host returned to take our drinks order. We hadn’t even looked at the menu, but made our order quickly. The drinks arrived in 10 minutes and again the host said nothing. After a further 20 minutes we finally asked what was supposed to be happening to be informed that they were prepping the afternoon tea and will be with us shortly. We enquired about the terrace and were advised we could go up afterwards. The afternoon tea arrived and the host went through what there was. (Disturbingly, accidentally touching it with her fingers too 🤢) I would say the food looks 10 times better than it tasted. The food was like lukewarm, filled with chilli and wasn’t the best Asian I’ve had. Overall I would say the food was ok, it wasn’t awful, but also not good enough that I would be listing to come back. The brownies was delicious and that was about it. I wouldn’t recommend and I think the lack of other guests spoke volumes already. 😂

Had an amazing pan-asian afternoon tea. The food was delicious. There was a selection of small plates, bao buns, sushi and deserts. It was very deceptive as we were stuffed by the end. Everything was freshly made and it was well worth it. The atmosphere was really nice, we weren’t rushed. Abbie who served us was lovely and made sure everything was to our liking and the barman was very friendly and made a really nice coffee for me. The chefs deserve a lot of praise. I would 100% recommend and hope to visit again soon.

We came here as a group of 7 girls on bank holiday Saturday for drinks. There was a great selection of drinks and cocktails. It has a live singer on who was excellent and gave a great vibe to the setting. Large tables available for big groups. Rooftop bar available too.

I went to spend the night in Zenn. Upon arrival, I headed straight to the bar to have a Sangria. A young man approached me, claiming to work at the bar. He informed me that someone from the staff was interested in me and insisted I talk to him. Politely, I asked him to leave me alone so I could enjoy my drink in peace. Feeling irritated by the encounter, I decided to settle my tab and leave after just 28 minutes there. While waiting for my Uber outside, an older security guard asked me if I had any 'nasty tattoos' on my body that he could see. Feeling uncomfortable, I chose to walk away, despite already having paid for my Uber. Upon sharing my experience on social media by DM, the establishment said that they would investigate the matter and get in touch with me. However, I never received any follow-up, and when I attempted to contact them, I was ignored. It seems likely they will also ignore this review. I do not recommend this place for women as it does not feel safe, and unfortunately, the staff lacks proper training. I will be filing a complaint with the appropriate authorities. Regards.

Went to watch Jax Jones on the top floor last night. Awesome space, good sound system, quick and friendly bar staff and decent bouncers. Highly recommend and will likely come back.

The atmosphere was good, the drinks were good, and the music selection was good, but the security guard's attitude was enough to ruin my whole night and make me never want to come back to this place. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. I didn't expect him to treat me extremely politely, but he could have just spoken in an appropriate way. After he checked my ID, he threw my ID card to the floor and told me I could come inside the bar. After he threw my ID card, he pointed at it, indicating that I should pick it up and come in. I looked at him for a moment as I did not expect such a behavior just literally said, "I am not your dad, mate," which is also not the kind of response you'd expect from staff, and there was no particular reason for it. I just wanted to avoid ruining my friends' mood, so I ignored his attitude and went into the bar. I actually liked the place in terms of drinks, music, and atmosphere. As we were leaving the bar, he just stared at me, so I politely asked why he threw my ID. Then he just asked me why I was asking and started cursing repeatedly and heavily for no reason. I didn't respond, and as I started walking away, he continued cursing at me and laughing with his colleagues. Without exaggeration, he was the rudest, meanest, most aggressive security guard with the least anger control. The most annoying thing was that I didn't cause any trouble at all, and I didn't use any offensive language either, I just literally did not respond. He just started being aggressive for no reason at all. There was absolutely no reason for him to treat me that way, so I couldn't understand why he treated me like this. I don't think any responsible person will take my problem seriously and contact me, as there was no reason for him to treat me that way. I mean, if he thought treating a customer in that way was not allowed, he wouldn't have treated me in that way. He could have treated me that way if he thought it wasn't allowed to talk to a customer in that manner, or maybe treating guests like that is the norm at this bar. But I can clearly say to those who want to spend time here: don't even talk to the security guards, as it seems they have the ultimate authority to treat people however they want, and they throw IDs if they don't like their design.

Went for celebration drinks after a white collar boxing match! Most people had come up from London! We pre-booked a table and drinks and when we got there, the people at the door were lovely showed us to our table and we had a great person serving us. Thank you Zenn for a great night!

We took some friends who were visiting from Dublin for Sunday Roast. It was lovely. The roast lamb was delicious and the staff were very professional. Elliot really did a great job of looking after us…. Very personable. We think we will be regulars…..especially on a Sunday. X

Went for our friends birthday meal - there were 12 of us who ordered off the set menu. We specifically said on numerous occasions that we had a vegetarian with us. When the food arrived it was basically chucked at us. Absolutely no organisation whatsoever - i think the staff were just in a rush to get the food out. When we had our starter we asked the young lad if the dish given to our friend was vegetarian NUMEROUS times, to which he said it was safe. Molly then took a bite and confirmed that it was in fact fish. We then asked the lad again if it was vegetarian to which he said it was prawn. Someone who has been vegetarian their whole life and never eaten meat had been served fish and told that it was safe to eat. When we complained about this we were only offered a free drink for compensation. They then had the nerve to charge us a service fee! Honestly the food nice enough but not worth the money and hassle in my opinion. I think this establishment is just for show. Get some new staff.

It has great vibes, food and service, but I’ve visited on multiple occasions and every time they carry bins from both the kitchen and behind the bar through the restaurant, right past your table as your eating, which I find so strange - I haven’t experienced this anywhere else, even having worked in bars and restaurants myself it seems like a really strange system.

Booked and paid for rooftop table for drinks only. Upon arrival rooftop was closed, was no informed about this before hand or told On arrival we was placed on a table in side, only I had to go speak to a member of staff. Beautiful restaurant

we booked a bottomless brunch for six of us we got there and was the only people in yet we was constantly sat with empty glasses waiting for the next, the few drinks you can pick between was that weak they tasted like pop the food was horrendous if you can even call it that and the music if you can even call it that was just noise like in a waiting room or if you was placed on hold, we asked our server if by any chance we could have any music on and he said no the manager is strict on this and that they also hated it. Truly disappointing as i had high expectations but would avoid at all costs.

I bought a ticket for an evening of DJ music on the roof. The music did not inspire dancing. We were allowed to sit at a table near the entrance where the heaters were not working and it was cold. There were many free tables around, but they were under reservation. My friends and I left after half an hour because we couldn’t find a place for ourselves there. This club did not please us with hospitality and did not take care of our comfort.

Had an amazing lunch today with my friend. Elwis was absolutely fantastic and really went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Very attentive without being too in your face. The food was incredible. The Fillet steak was cooked to perfection. The Duck spring rolls where devine as where the desserts. Mouth watering. Again thank you to Elwis for being a great host.

After a recommendation by a work mate we made a booking at Zenn pre theatre visit. The girl at reception was lovely and a credit to Zenn... and gave us a lovely warm welcome. Food was lovely and served in good time... and all staff were very friendly andinformative. Would definitely recommend and will absolutely be back again.

Expensive New Year's Eve dinner, you have to pay for the table and consume at least $65 each plus the $20 reservation. All this only for 2 hours. If you wanted to stay for longer you had to book and pay another $40 and consume I don't know how much $ obligatory. (I hope all this only because it was December 31st and not always like this). As the place was full, the service was slow and the music was very loud like a disco... nice and elegant environment, but just on December 31st!

Beautiful venue, but the restaurant service is really poor. We were pretty much ignored throughout our meal until the end when they brought the bill before we had received everything we had ordered. Would recommend drinks or visiting during quieter times when the service is probably less stretched. The vegan calamari was great.

My visits to Zenn have been consistently disappointing. My first visit I thought it was a fluke and I would attempt to visit again, it was in fact not a fluke and just a waste of money. The food is flavourless and disappointing, the service staff are slow and not very attentive. I had to send dishes back, and even had one taken of off the bill from our group. I wouldn’t recommend anyone visit here. The music is so loud you essentially have to shout across the table. This applies during the daytime and evening meals. The drinks are watered down (both alcoholic and non alcoholic). We tried various starters and mains across different attendances and were disappointed by all. The only thing I would recommend is the truffle fries but you literally get 9 fries. So, take that as you will. I’ve attended both during the day on a quiet Sunday, and on a busier Friday evening. Both experiences were negative. I would give 1 star but I added a star for the 1 competent staff member who attempted to rectify some of the issues we had both times.

Food was nice. For some reason we didn't get clean cutlery after our starters. The waiter just took our knives off our starter plate and put them dirty on our napkins. We asked if we were going to get clean knives and he just said "no". Thought that was very strange. Had to wait a while for drinks too and when asked for house vodka and gin they served us Grey Goose and Bombay Sapphire. Never known them to be a house vodka or gin 🤔 Entertainment was good though

8 starters came out, 2 others waited 25mins after we'd eaten. Starter was tepid, and sent back. Toilets were disgusting on 1st floor. Unisex and urine all over seats and floor 🤢

Our first and definitely not our last time at Zenn. This place certainly has the Wow factor, indeed, what a beautiful and amazing place. The ambiance, the choice of food on offer and the taste was along with the drinks, the service and the decor are truly phenomenal. Enjoyed cocktails and food in the afternoon in an unhurried and relaxing atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.

Incredibly rude bar manager... We had spent a considerable amount of money in the premises for what is a fairly average venue....
