Zaru Cafe Bistro in Dacorum

I purchased a brunch of full English and decaffeinated latte with almond milk. Whilst the meal was ok I was charged an extra £1:70 for the almond milk over and above the normal cost of the coffee. There was nothing on the menu to warn me nor was I informed at the time of purchase. Very very expensive milk!

We had been recommended this place by friends and found it busy for a Sunday lunch which is great sign. The greeting from the staff was excellent and we loved the buzz on here, plenty on the menu to choose from for breakfast and lunch options. I had the rise and shine toasty which was very good served with a nice side salad. Some may think the prices are slightly above other places - it’s worth it for the quality of food and service- our waitress Katya did an excellent job. Try it out - you will be back if you do.

Came for lunch at Zaru and it was amazing and delicious!!The servers were very fast and attentive,the food was very high quality and the menu had a very wide selection and variety of options!Would definitely recommend!!

I came here twice in 2 days. Really good service and menu. Food was reasonably priced arrived quickly and couldnt really fault the place attall. Lots of staff to hand to assist. Never felt unattended. Great selection and presented very well too. Would recomend to anyone in the area. It isn't often you get somewhere ticking all the boxes like this.... Well Done! Lovely breakfast. Ingredients are all good, thic bacon and pwopa Cumberland sausage. Service was quick and friendly.

I like Zaru, the food is good, there is a good choice, the staff are lovely, it can get a bit noisy inside but I like the buzz. They can be quite slow so not ideal if you're looking to get in and out in a rush. Biggest issue is that they have a small car park at the back of the restaurant. There is now a parking limit which is not particularly clear! So be very aware that if staff are slow to bring food or the bill, you will likely get a fine.

Great in the summer being able to sit outside, service can be a little hit & miss in regards to how attentive they are. Have sat inside the last few times I’ve been there & the music is really loud, on repeat & not the most relaxing for morning/lunch. We couldn’t hear ourselves think. Food has been lovely in the past, but again the last few times I’ve been since September time it’s been really greasy & not that enjoyable, with portion sizes being inconsistent & incorrect across the group. It’s a shame as I really liked this place, so for me it’s more of a coffee stop now rather than breakfast or lunch

I had a fabulous lunch with friends this afternoon. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and watching the world go by. Very relaxing afternoon and the food and staff were great. I would definitely recommend the Zaru.

Definetly worth a visit. Place was really busy and I can see why! Served quickly with prompt delivery of hot, delicious food. Smoothies and milkshakes were also stunning.

Great food, friendly staff. I had the London breakfast with poached eggs, hash browns, sausage and bacon, as well as beans and tomatoes. So for a mushroom hater it was perfect! Music way too loud though.

We have visited ZARU for breakfast / brunch a number of times and it never disappoints. The service is always great and the food tastes lovely too.

I ordered a bacon sandwich and coffee. I got a bigger salad than the bacon sandwich I wanted. The sandwich was mean on the bacon, if you charge £5 then fill it with good bacon. The salad was nice but if you order a bacon sandwich that’s what you want. Coffee and service was good.

Food was very good and service was fine. Front door always constantly ajar and needs fixing and toilets need to be spruced up a little but overall such a welcome addition to this area of Hemel Hempstead. We shall be back sooner rather than later, Thanks, Andy & Lois.

Visited with friends now four times in recent months. Nice, clean place. Food is cooked nicely but please why spoil it by putting cooked hot/warm food on cold plates. Also on last visit, staff not very attentive in taking away plates after finishing eating.

At last we have a totally brilliant restaurant in Hemel, great ambience, fantastic food,super prices, great staff in really nice surroundings

The food is good but £15 got a burger and £13 for a jacket potato isn’t really acceptable unless you are in the West End of London !

It’s first time I have been here food great staff lovely very clean and loved the decor .Definitely will be back and recommend.

We have been for lunch at Zaru many times and we always go for the omelettes. The food is smartly presented and healthy and wholesome. Everything freshly made. The waitresses and staff are welcoming and accommodating to alter dishes to suit tastes and allergies. it is excellent value for money also and a very cosy, friendly ambiance. Perfect for couples, families, single people and work coffees or lunches. High recommend.

Tried Zaru for the 1st time with my mum for lunch, it was absolutely delicious. Menu had so many things that I wanted to try and I was very impressed with how extensive it was. I went for a Panini and my mum had a halloumi burger. Both were 10/10. Will definitely be back.

Wow! First time here and a recommended by Mum! Great atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. Great coffee and had the grilled chicken and halloumi salad, phenomenal, 10/10, highly recommend and will be back soon for sure. A job very well done, thank you Perry and his mum ❤️

Popped in for lunch with my granddaughter. Lovely quirky decor. Fantastic choices on the menu. I had a great salt beef toasted sandwich which came with a fantastic range of salads, almost a meal by itself. My granddaughter had a panini which also came with a fabulous salad. Had a real mint tea. Great value for money. Nice friendly service Can't wait to return

Was recommended this restaurant by my daughter and five of us went here for lunch and it was absolutely amazing, with really great friendly staff to the brilliant menu there was so much choice. When the food came out it was first class, taste, presentation and such good value. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a restaurant and felt so appreciated. It’s definitely going to be our go too from now on.

Visited for lunch. I'm really impressed with how nicely its been renovated. The staff were really friendly and efficient. There's a large selection of food on the menu. I had a Mediterranean breakfast and it was delicious. Freshly prepared, great portion size. We will definately be back.

Liked this place so much visited twice in 2 days! First visit was for brunch. Ordered pancakes with streaky bacon and maple syrup. 2 London breakfasts too. Food was fresh, hot, well presented and tasty. Lots of choices on the menu. Second visit had the salt beef hot sandwich. Excellent. The salad garnish was great too. Did not have to wait too long for food to be served; all freshly cooked. Staff very friendly and attentive. Very welcoming too. The ambiance is relaxed and clean. Particularly liked it as I can walk here from home. Enjoyed sitting inside and out and on the terrace, great in good weather. Will definitely recommend and return. Only negative was the price of 2 pots of tea came to £11.00! Overpriced for tea bags and water.

I visited here with my mum today as it was a lovely day and wanted to sit outside. We originally were going to just get a drink but after looking at the menu we both decided to have the salt beef toasted sandwich. It was lovely, great potion sizes, the salted beef tasted really good. The freshly squeezed apple juice was also one of the nicest apple juices ive ever had! The decor and inside of the restaurant is beautiful and even loved the toilets. Great menu selection and really affordable.

We tried out this new restaurant for brunch and can't wait to come back again. The food was excellent - freshly cooked to perfection and it took us right back to our summer holiday! The staff were all lovely and polite. I wish them all the very best in their new venture!
