Went couple of months ago for the first time and won't be returning. Food was luke warm considering they'd just opened and not worth the price

Delivery on time. Fajitas absolutely stone cold when arrived. Mine had onions in, which I can’t eat. And it shouldn’t have. Fries were meant to be seasoned and absolutely tasteless. Chicken was nice. Used to love this place but after tonight I don’t think I’ll return. Did try to phone them but closed so no alternative other than to leave a review

This is possibly my favourite food in the world. I've come back to Durham this weekend from London partially just to go to Zaps. The nachos and the burrito especially are delicious. Staff always lovely and don't give you small portions. There should be a zaps or Zapatista in every town.

We got take out for dinner. A reasonable amount of food for the price. It was OK but as someone from Arizona, Mexican food is almost always disappointing this far from Mexico. The pork was overly sweet and the tortilla tasted like it came from a supermarket. The churros hit the spot though!

Great food, but the portion sizes have noticeably gotten smaller over the last 3-4 orders I’ve made.

Fantastic food and friendly staff. They have some decent meal deals on offer at the moment too. The cappuccino I had was extremely good.

The build your own burrito meal came as a naked burrito bowl, which was a little disappointing.

3rd time I’ve ordered from Zapatista and the delivery driver has been unable to find my address when it’s not difficult, resulting in having to walk for sometimes 5 minutes to locate the driver for our food, ordered a large burrito , received a small , the burrito and chips were really cold like it had just come out a fridge, shocking result for the price you pay

The restaurant had my food ready at 7:02. I was informed the courier was at the restaurant - I ordered at 6pm. I phoned the restaurant several times and the order was still waiting for delivery. The time on the app kept getting later and later as more couriers rejected the job. The order arrived at 8:30 after my son and I had given up and had a sandwich. The burrito (which contained lettuce and sour cream) had been sitting on a hot plate keeping warm for 1 1/2 hours. The app wouldn’t let me canc

I usually love Zaps but these meals (both the chips and wraps) were totally overloaded with salt - so much so that they were inedible. Incredibly disappointed.

Where should I begin… I visited Zapatista Burrito Bar today to be greeted by a very rude female member of staff, who was swearing quite loudly in front of customers. Fair enough, she might not have noticed we had came in. However after that, when I was barked at ‘you know what you’re having mate’ when I asked for a few more moments the member of staff walked off out of view and was talking inappropriately with other staff members). I ordered a burrito and each step of the way along the counter (Deli style counter set up) each selection was increasingly rushed and the staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there, and placing an order was an unacceptable thing to do in a cafe. Food was cheap but cheerful, not a very high quality for the price. But based on the rude and casual attitude of the staff we wont be returning.

Delivery was over an hour late. Fries and some dips were missing. Churros didn't come with the dip and had no cinnamon seasoning. Called and was told well we've marked we've sent them, you'll have to go through just eat and apply for a refund, nothing we can do and we can't send the missing things out.

Just absolutely delicious 😋. I’ve loved Zapatista since first trying it in Newcastle years ago. I now go to this one in Durham quite a lot and the people who work there are just lovely, so helpful and smiley. The burritos are DELICIOUS. I love the loyalty cards too. My favourite is the pulled pork. Highly recommend!

1st time ordering & they forget the main parts No tortilla No burrito No tortilla chips . I just got a Bowl of chicken salad with so much dip & sauce. Then when I rang to tell them the main part ( the tortilla chips? was missing & the guy on the phone said he personally pack the order ? so then made out I was lying? then he said the driver took it ? Then said we can't deliver the chips so get a refund! it's not about the refund. its the service .

Missed drink from our order and chicken was very chewy

Superb food, staff always lovely, pleasant and relaxed vibe. Have been a few times for their burrito's, will be going back again soon

Order was 35 mins late with no one answering when trying to ring the restaurant for an update. Food eventually arrived all cold.

Missing food from order. Called restaurant but said nothing they could do. Disappointing. Food wasn’t up to usual Standard, wrap mushy, ingredients not as fresh/plentiful as in previous orders. Ordered meal deal and didn’t get it!

Took a very long time. Food was soggy. Not very nice. Couldn't rate any of it. Nachos came with a very little amount of cheese on the side. chips in a bag and wet. Was expensive too

Food was brilliant. Great value and great portion sizes. You’d usually expect a bit less quality when you get more quantity, however this was not the case and i’d highly recommend Zapatista Burrito Bar.

I always enjoy a Zap Burrito and haven't been disappointed yet. The large Burrito meal deal (12" Burrito, fries, and a can of pop) is good value for money @ £9.90 (Nov 2023). They had a limited edition chorizo special on my visit, so I gave that a go. It was tasty, but I shouldn't have swapped out the salsa for the slaw. I think the salsa would've been better for the chorizo. Couldn't fault the service. The Burrito "Burrista" was on his own and made 4 well filled and well prepared burritos (squash, chicken, beef, and my chorizo) in good time. We all agreed that they were well tasty. I'd recommend the spicy fries. We had no complaints and will visit again.

The driver wasn't assigned for an hour. I spoke to the restaurant twice they were helpful but were waiting for a driver. If I had been aware how long it would take I would not have placed the order

Ordered naked bowl as I don’t eat bread/wraps. My order came as a wrap and was cold too. So overall not great and I’ve had orders before and always been spot on.. disappointed Saturday night food

Delivery aimed for 12:35 as an estimated time for arrival from Zaps - kept getting knocked back and arrived at 13:05 in the end. The burrito for £8.20 was a rip off and was snack size. Overall very poor - won’t be ordering from here again.

Tortilla Chips Stale Burrito had tomato rice not coriander. Chicken hard and crunchy. Won't be ordering zaps again.

Came with my son who frequents this place a lot. They were extremely busy with phone orders so there was a bit of waiting time which was fine. We ordered some nachos to share and 2 meal deals. The nachos were absolutely amazing, we had the shredded beef and it was delicious - literally melted in your mouth. When we went back up to get our burritos we each had different servers, a young lady and a young man - both of whom were polite, friendly and informative/helpful. We didn’t actually get our fries, as stated they were very busy so possibly forgot but we also didn’t remind them so that’s also on us….to be fair we didn’t really need them after demolishing the nachos. The burritos were also delicious - I can see why my son eats here so much. Will definitely be visiting again 😊

Lovely food but different prices every time you go. I think they just make it up

Experience of ordered on ToGoodToGo, now I understand TGTG is for left overs at a reduced price, but I have ordered twice now for one of their "Meat Bags" on both occasions I paid for it successfully, but then on the first time, the cancelled it just over 1 hour before collection. The second time I ordered (today) they cancelled it within 1hr 35 minutes of collection time. Now as a customer on TGTG you can cancel any time up to 2 hours before, which then allows someone else to get it. But it seems like Zaps aren't really thinking of all the customers that they let down by cancelling them last minute, with the app they can choose to not put any Magic bags on automatically each day, and then just manually put some on if they have left overs, this way it will save people like myself having many let downs when trying to collect one. As for tonight, I ordered this for my dinner, but now last minute I need to rethink what I am doing because of them cancelling.

Very poor experience. Ordered through the too good to go app. Waited at a locked door for 15 minutes despite knocking and ringing the doorbell. Eventually called them to have a rude woman tell me all orders are cancelled and hang up. The other people in the queue including a delivery driver were not impressed either. Good food (when they can be bothered to serve you), terrible service.

What a find! The staff were auper friendly and helpful. We went duirng the summer when the kids eat free offer was on. What a great deal! Food was delicious and we had huge portions. 2 meals & drinks for £9! Staff were happy and welcoming and I would definitely go back/recommend!

Burritos nice but tepid, chips little portion and stone cold, drinks warm. The driver took no time to get here so not his fault.

Awful!!! Cold chicken and rock hard rice for £13 it is shocking!! I apparently got extra portion of chicken which wasn’t in my wrap. Came freezing cold. Never again Zaps

2x Burrito meal deal, good value for money. Staff member was very friendly and gave us great portion size. Spicy fries were well seasoned. Selection of cocktails to have with the food. Lovely decor around the restaurant. Will definitely be coming back soon!

It was my first time eating here. I am in Durham for a few days holiday. I love this type of food but don't eat in these 'fast food' places much. My Quesadilla was very tasty and a large portion. My only complaint is that there are no utensils, just a wooden fork. So, I did struggle to eat my large Quesadilla!! I felt it was a bit pricey too. I won't eat here again.

Food was better than i was expecting, i ordered taco's and i like these served hot, they were cold but it was such a warmday that we sat outside and actually i really enjoyed the cold taco. The flavour was great, it worked and was great with a cold corona. Ill return

Got a few burritos to take out. Unfortunately, they were quite bland. Can get a reasonable deal pricewise though.

I had chicken quesadillas for lunch and it tasted delicious with their sweet corn sauce inside. My colleagues had their burrito and liked it. Their prices are also fair.

Great place for quick food… seams to have a high turn over of staff, don’t think we have ever seen the same person twice!

Ordered delivery: the food was warm and fresh. Exactly as ordered and nothing missing. Staff left a lovely message written on the box of my food. 10/10

I ordered a surprise bag the day before but after we travelled to Durham to collect it I got a message less than half an hour before to say they didn’t have enough left. Totally inexcusable after they accepted my order a day before. I strongly suspect that due to the good weather and Durham being busy they were doing good business so decided to sell my order for a higher price rather than reserving it and honouring the order. As customers have up to 2 hours before to cancel these orders Zaps should have the decency to give at least the same notice if they are going to mess customers around like this. Very, very poor customer service.

Sweet Potato chilli Burrito was excellent and spicy salsa did actually have a spice kick to it. Not crazy spicy but enough to give it that extra. Good meal deal with chips and drink for £8.50. The venue inside is quite nice. I think they could really turn it in to a cool cafe restaurant if they tried harder. It's nice setting by the bridge. Only downside is I had to clear the outside table to put my lunch on. It had 10 used coffee cups and a few plates on it. But pleasant staff made up for that. I've had the Butternut squash/Halloumi here too which is very good.

Churros we’re missed from delivery and the chips are cold on arrival. Nachos were soggy too. App said the delivery driver was in the shop awaiting the order for a long time, then food was delivered in a few minutes, feels like it was actually stood waiting to be collected for a while judging by the temperature.

It’s just toooooooo slow. Almost 2 hours delay….. first time to order it, very disappointed.

Delicious and convenient. You choose between wrap, burrito, taco, nachos and then build your wrap with the server over the counter Deli style. Lots to choose from to put in your wrap and reasonable prices for meal deals or individual wraps. Great for a quick bite without the hassle of waiting for table service. Nice seating area too.

We reached about closing time and were still let in. The food was absolutely delicious and Jess was a star helping our big group meet all our requests. A must place visit.

Terrible customer service Ordered some food on ubereats and specifically mentioned that we need utensils and they didn’t send. We went over to the restaurant just for two forks and the female receptionist said” oh I’m sorry you can go and ask the chefs for the utensils” ???? Just speechless

Decent food in fair price. Perfect for a quick lunch or if you want and break from normal bad quality food take aways.

Ordered a burrito meal on Deliveroo. Burrito had uncooked rice, no lettuce and the meat rice and beans were all seperate as in (1/3 meat then 1/3 rice then 1/3 beans). One of the salsas tasted like watery chopped tomatoes.

The rice was not cooked in my naked burrito bowl. As in, it was hard and crunchy and tasted like it had been left out for days. The beans are yummy though. Will not be buying from here again.

Churros were missing however the toffee sauce was in the bag however it was ALL OVER the bag as the lid had come off. The fajitas were freezing cold. It was like they’d come out of a fridge. We only live minutes from the restaurant so this should not have been the case. I’ve give you so many chances just eat but every time we have missing and cold food. Get your act together

Ordered delivery to my hotel after arriving in Durham ill and tired. Ordered the vegan jackfruit burrito which is currently out of stock but the staff member called me to explain and offered me an alternative. He also explained that one of the items I'd bought wasn't vegan and offered me an alternative. My food arrived quickly and the burrito was HUGE with loads of tortilla chips and an extra taster of the other vegan filling option to try 😋 It was just what I needed whilst feeling so ill and away from home. So good I went back with my mum a couple of days after! Our burritos were just as good 👍 Super yummy, decent price and friendly staff. Keep up the good work!

The two girls working their offered fantastic customer care despite being clearly super busy! Felt welcomed and the food was spot on too. Would recommend this to anyone - I’m vegetarian and the veggie options were great!

I had the naked beef burrito. Some flavours were pretty good (beef, rice, jalapeño, pico) but others were, I'm afraid to see, disappointing (watery tomato salsa, cheap tasting cheese). Lovely atmosphere and very helpful friendly staff, reasonably priced to. This could be an easy 5 stars but a few ingredients let it down.

Food needed reheating Chips were very cold and a mix of old dried and new fresher ones. Only seasoning on the chips was a bit salt. Not the usual standard.

We ordered this food, when we received this the food was freezing cold to the point it was inedible. We contacted the restaurant to explain this, and we were met with no accountability except for ‘it’s the drivers fault’ basically because the food was hot when it left the restaurant. I will not be ordering from here again and have since complained to Just Eat regarding the service and quality.

Brilliant food every time. So filling I have the burrito over two meals making it amazing value for money. The beef is so tender and tasty. Any sauces are always great regardless of heat level. Highly recommended.

Excellent quality food with lots of options. The beef is so soft and tender. All the sauces no matter the heat level are all so tasty. I can get one burrito and have it over two very filling meals there is so much there. Seasoned fries are very nice also. Highly recommended.

Half of the order was missing. Girl at the restaurant was absolutely horrible when I called and blamed just eat not even a hint of any help. Food was cold. Churros was wet and uncooked.

Ordered dinner for 4 with just eat delivery. Order hour late due to driver issues. Not a problem these things happen. However, order came finally and half of it is missing! Calling restaurant not the politest staff not a single glimpse of trying to help. Rest of the order cold, wet, soggy burritos, fries with a bucket of salt, churros sweaty, wet and cold and most remarkably still undercooked. Perfect way to throw out £60 for food I would not feed to my dog. Just eat might be responsible for half of the order missing. But the restaurant is at fault for the rubbish quality and state the order arrived in.

We ordered 2 large meal deals but only one was large, the other quite small. Very tasty but we had one disappointed guest!
