This is the second takeaway we’ve got since we move closed by - everything is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the cholla with lemongrass, it’s so flavoursome! And the passanda too. So happy you’re our local, looking forward to dining in one day :-)

Food a disgrace unless Ashley the manager is working and the main chef have eaten there since it opened but to hit and miss now given it the benefit of the doubt in the past but know more food shocking tonight

I recently had my first experience ordering from Zaal Indian Restaurant, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was not only delivered earlier than expected but also arrived piping hot, which is a big plus. The portions were generous, and there was plenty of sauce and chicken bites to savor. I ordered for three people, and we all found the food to be delicious. I must add that everything was incredibly fresh. I wholeheartedly recommend Zaal Indian Restaurant based on this fantastic experience.

Our local curry house, the first time I ordered, it was full of taste but unfortunately after that we experienced inconsistency in flavour. Sometimes it tastes lovely and other times very bland 😕

Nice when the curry's are cooked correctly, but a shame when randomly the curry's are bland, and contain just one veg in a vegetable curry. Clearly cooked totally different from a last order. Won't use again because of this, shame. Early week days, curry's are better!

This is my second visit to this restaurant. Once again I found the portions very small . I mean how can they justify such miserly potions of rice at such high prices. I know it's 2023 but this is crazy it costs a few pennies and they charge pounds. But while people pay these prices without question they will continue with their price hikes. Why not encourage people to dine out more often and give them a little more Value. Sorry it's not for me or my friends.

Such a lovely restaurant, iam gluten intolerant, I was assured that everything we ordered was fine, and it was. Such a pleasant evening and I know that I can eat without any worries which is so nice. We will definitely be returning. Food was delicious and service excellent

Lovedddd the food, Lovedd the atmosphere and most importantly loveed the waiter. He was so hilarious, it definitely added to the night!!! Price was farrrr too cheap, they should definitely increase it because the quality was too good for that price!!!

I was disappointed with my takeaway meal, for the first time ever, especially the onion bargees and samosas, they were not crispy as usual. Also, the portion for 2 people wasn't enough. I had not been there for some time. I hope for better next time. The front house service is always warm, friendly, and helpful. I will try again sometime as I haven't visited in-house since the pandemic started.

Visited the place about a year ago with a friend. Took ages for the orders to arrive; Portion was very small,; Was given a price for a dish and got charged a higher price afterward. However, the place was clean , not noisy and the food was average. I will avoid that place next time.

Absolutely delicious food, we are particularly huge fans of all of the hot lamb dishes, Naga and Chilli Fry are our favourites, the chef is amazing! Ash and Bobbi and all of the staff are so welcoming and friendly we eat in every week if possible or get a takeaway, always delicious great service, would thoroughly recommend

Ordered a takeaway via deliveroo to Shepperton on a Tuesday. Super impressed! Chicken tikka Byriani was delicious as were the bhuna and madras. Speedy delivery and really reasonable price. Will definitely order from here again. Recommended!!

Great night out food was excellent

Some of the most basic and bland meals I ever tasted. It's really a disgrace to South Asian cuisine, the fish from the Goan curry was overcooked and mushy. The chicken tikka was like tomato sauce, no vegetables at all in any of the dishes. Just meat chunks and sauces of bland flavour. I was very disappointed and will not order again. We paid 70 quid for a meal for 4.

recently moved to the area so after having a few take aways (always missed something, food was good though) thought we would try the restaurant itself. Was sat down and given menu's, had to wait to order popadoms and drinks, to busy serving "regulars" than us even though we came in first, eventually ordered and food was ok, portion size on the small size, when we got the bill had 10% added for service (only 2 of us), which is a joke plus 2 deserts we didnt order, so got these removed, shocking service won't go again will try another restaurant,

Realy good curry . Been using zaal on and off for a few years now and always excellent food . King prawn dhansak is superb

Having moved to the area from Guildford 2 years ago I really missed the Indian restaurant I used to frequent so decided it was time to find one in the local area. I ordered food from here for the first time earlier this week after receiving a rather lovely looking menu through the post. I placed my order online in advance and had it delivered. Must say, I absolutely loved it! The food was full of flavour and the delivery driver was really friendly. Will definitely be ordering again, I can see myself eating from here a lot and will definitely be recommending to people at work.

The food is amazing there, if you are around there you definitely need to give this place a try, every local person knows of this place 😇 They do free delivery within 3 mile radius for orders over £20 Car park outside the place so you don’t have to worry about finding a space

I don't like leaving bad reviews. In most cases, I just let it go. However, this was the worst takeaway I have ever had. They got our starters completely wrong ( we ordered a zaal special discovery entree which their website describes as Chicken Tikka, Lamb Tikka, Sheek Kebab and Onion Bhaji) but instead got an assortment of fish dishes (Mussel, Calamari and what seemed like a prawn spring roll?) Then we had our mains. I ordered a mild curry and was surprised when I tasted it; it tasted like Heinz Tomato soup mixed with a bottle of tabasco. I usually order a madras and this was 10 times hotter than one of them. My partner ordered a mild curry (a malaya?) and it was edible. The sauce was fine and mild, as expected. However, the chicken and pineapple were rock solid and he struggled to chew any of it. The only positive thing about the meal was the naan bread but we already had them in the freezer. Would not order from again; would not recommend. Hope other people had a better experience.

Food was good.. But being an Indian, I expected a better biriyani but what I got was Pulao Rice with no gravy... Tandoori chicken was nice though.

Called to make an order, was berated for requesting a delivery and very rudely told to call back in 5 minutes. Didn't bother went elsewhere after the way I was spoken to, not that I suspect this would have bothered them. Won't be trying there again, ever.

Had the worst tasting curry this evening from Zaal. It was as if they put a tin of tomatoes in a pan warmed them and straight into a container. Had to go back for missing item and not the correct curry either. Won’t be back!! Social distancing wasn’t good either when I got touched on the arm by a staff member. Very bad experience!

We have been regularly eating at zaal since it opened. They are always very welcoming and the food is amazing. I have no idea where the negative reviews have come from but in our opinion they are completely unfounded. Zaal is one of the best Indian restaurants in the area and we would highly recommend you give them a try

Pathetic Service. Highly discriminating staff. Didnt have a baby chair. Didnt arrange an extra seat/chair even..We were a group of 8+baby... we had to seat the baby in the lap and eat. No glasses for water. No cutlery served. The main waiter was very rude and passed racist comments. All in All huge disappointment!

The restaurant staff certainly takes pride in serving let's say 'one kind of customers' and loathes certain others. If you would like to get a first hand experience of racism of the finest order in display, by all means, pay a visit. Smaller portion sizes, no cutlery, random glasses in all kinds of sizes and unnecessary extempore with racist references - while other customers continue to receive undivided attention and service. And in the end, the audacity to ask for service charge to honour their service of the highest order. Absolutely classless.

I wish I had an option to give ZERO star. I have eaten at numerous restaurants around the globe but this one was my worst experience. Pathetic service. We were given a treatment like we are eating for free or may be they thought we didn't deserve the high class customer service that others have mentioned in their reviews. Food wasn't bad but portion sizes were very small. Server was making unnecessary comments like "dnt order stuffed paratha, it takes time to make one." When I said I have enough time, he just gave me weird expression which just disgusted me. You go to Dinner to have a nice time but we were treated like we just should not be there. Overall, If you are an Indian, please do not visit this restaurant. These guys do not deserve our business.

A bunch of disrespectful waiters running the restaurant. There wasn't a baby chair and and put our group of 8 in a congested place and we were bound to carry our baby in arms while eating. The portion sizes were very small, and not worth tasting. As they claim to be Indian restaurant, it is far from Indian food.

The food is fine but the behaviour of the staff is intolerable. They don't cater well to Indians. The staff is extremely rude, unhospitable and baised towards Indian crowd. The food portion is very small. We asked about the portion size and then ordered but the rice was served in extremely small bowl (sweet dish bowl), a five year old could eat 2 bowls of rice. When we reordered, the manager said "This is quite a busy restaurant and this is the problem with people from India, you keep ordering." I don't recommend the place at all.

Was a great fun evening with an Elvis tribute. I personally dont eat indian food but everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed their food.

My family and I have been going to Zaal for years. It is beautiful Indian food, with wonderdul service. They are great with dietary requirements and will change all they can to make it suitable for your taste. Would definately reccomend.

An amazing meal once again, took 4 friends with us this time and they weren't disappointed, the service was attentive and very organised, the food was hot, fresh and well presented. The whole night was great value, added by the loyalty card I signed up for which got us 20% off the final bill.. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone, we travelled a fair distance to get there as well..
