Yum Chinese Takeaway in Glasgow City

Waited over 2 hours for my order, arrived freezing cold and soggy and inedible, obviously been sitting in the bag for so long. If I had known it would be so late I wouldn’t have ordered. Tried to contact restaurant several times and the phone number just says busy then hangs up. Terrible service, shouldn’t take so many orders if they can’t fulfil them efficiently.

Delivery very quick, but the food wasn't great at all. Stick to chicken curry / chicken balls (they were okay) and stay away from the ribs. Wouldn't rush back.

The hot and sour soup here is the best I’ve ever tasted

Got set meal...second week running they got it wrong though..and if u order a set meal you don't get a full portion. Also only took 15 mins from order to delivery so was no way cooked fresh. But was cheap so you get what you pay for .

Food arrived quickly, and was piping hot. On the main the food was tasty, however I ordered a chicken fried rice and was very disappointed that there was no little pieces of chicken fried with the rice. There was generous slices of chicken on top of the rice but I also expected to find small bits of chicken mixed with the rice.

I ordered prawn toast and it was just like fried bread no prawn flavour also ordered salt and pepper chicken which tasted like chicken balls tasteless sometimes you order from yum and it’s delicious sometimes it’s very bland no consistency with this place wish I knew when the good chef was working and when the hopeless one was was working if the good one was there I would order food here if it’s not stay away

always order from this chinese and never have any issues however tonight i received the wrong order on uber eats yet it still said on the app mine was to be delivered, i contacted the chinese to tell them and if they could send me a new one and the man on the phone was beyond rude to me telling me he isn’t going to do anything, he’s busy, he doesn’t care, i should just be eating what i receive and what does it matter as he will not be sending me a new one and proceeded to hang up the phone on me twice and shout at another staff member who was trying to reason with him and explain that i have missing items and he was extremely rude to her. would not recommend at all and will not be going back to this place

First time ordering from here. Food was piping hot and really tasty. Only downside was curry was a wee bit watery for my tastes but the beef was soooo nice. Was still a really good meal and will deffo be back

First you really need to buy decent chips. These are jaggy tasteless crispy things that spoil a meal. Also I would suggest you slow cook your spare ribs. These a tough and tasteless. it was a binned meal.

We ordered food from this take away and delivery took an hour longer than expected- totalling 2hrs. We tried to call 4 times and nobody answered. We tried to use Uber Eats help service to no avail. This restaurant clearly has no regard for customer service. Would not recommend!

Ordered on Xmas Eve & then again tonight. Delivery was less than 40 mins both nights which is great as I expected longer given I live a wee bit away from the shop. Food was lovely & no complaints. Friendly delivery drivers also!

Ordered food from here, took over 2 hours to arrive and they gave the wrong items. After talking on the phone to them, they tried to say that’s everything was in fact right on the order and that’s “HOW THE CHEF MAKES IT” (which is never been the way we have usually been given and was told they haven’t changed the menu recently to say other wise). Not impressive for a restaurant to treat a customer that has ordered many times here before this treatment. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Only ordered salt and chilli chicken with noodles but delivery took over a hour, it says on Uber eats they use their own staff at the store. Not sure how true this is because you don’t get an update if it takes longer and there was a hair in my food! Make sure you guys wear hairnets. If you guys looked at these reviews I hope you would implement these into your work life. It’s a shame it has the possibility to be good. On a good day this takeaway can be really nice but on a cold winter evening expect your food late and a hair in it…

ordered at 7.30pm - its 9.30pm and still nothing. ive requested my money back as have tried multiple times to call the restaurant and they have refused to answer. was over an hour waiting initially, then they delayed it a further hour

They call this Freshly made all of the food was reheated don’t order from this place unless you want to Throw your money in the bin The amount of salt on this food is absolutely ridiculous the chicken balls were hard and felt like it was made 3 days ago all of the food was soggy just something you can’t eat no matter how hungry you are Never ordering AGAIN form this place and it calls it self YUM YUM more like YUK YUK 🤮

Unfortunately this is the fourth time my order has been delayed, delivered an hour after the stated time and been delivered freezing cold. Gutted as loved the place.

This has got to be the weirdest and worst Chinese I have ever had in my life so anyone thinking of a Chinese this week stay away from this place absolutely disgusting i only like side dishes who could get side dishes wrong I ordered portion of chips portion of egg fried rice and a portion of thin noodles how can anyone get this wrong chips where freezing rice was look warm but noodles ha 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭was ribbon pasta I have never seen anything like that in my life told them to bring me noodles and pick up this rubbish but no still waiting so they had better refund my money back cause they can’t honestly think people will pay for this crap

Firstly the delivery driver was walking up and down my street as though he didn’t know the area even though I’m only 5 mins away. He was quite ignorant! The curry sauce was not nice at all, soggy chicken balls and the chips were, cold & hard. Would never order from here again 😞

Was told Barbecue pork was fresh every day couldn't taste pork all I could taste was salt, meaning not fresh

Stone cold watery vegetable curry totally unedable over an hour late chips stone cold, cold soup and cold curry had to put in mirowave distusting wont every go back and no apoligise for the lateness AVOID.

From ordering time and delivery it was 11 minutes. Takes 9 mins to get to my house which means my food was “cooked” in 2 minutes. Chips were stale and solid could literally be used as a weapon, rice was indedible and rockhard and the thai red curry was bland.

This place used to be the best Chinese in Glasgow! (In my opinion anyway) food was always fresh, hot and delivered promptly, portion size was good too, but this last month/6weeks it has just gone downhill, delivery can take up to 2.5 hours, food is cold on delivery the chicken (shredded crispy chicken and the roast chicken) has been rubbery and difficult to chew, the portion of rice comes in the same size container as the curry sauce and gravy with the roast chicken only just covers the base of the tub! We won’t be returning which is sad because it really was a great place! Maybe there’s new staff/management 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t usually write reviews unless I’m really unhappy I waited over 2hrs for delivery, I phoned the shop for an update as it had been an hour and half at this point and they said the food is ready to go just waiting on a delivery guy, reached over 2hrs I phoned again as my food would of been lying for ages and I was trying to explain this to girl, but she was abrupt on the phone claiming it’s not her fault as it’s through Uber eats… regardless where you order it from if it’s took over 2 hrs to get delivered the shop needs to take some responsibility. When food was delivered went straight in the bin, taste was bland and cold. The way the soup looked was enough to put anyone off. I’d advise anyone that’s about to order to just forget it.

It was very quick and the driver was very kind and it was nice a tasty and we all enjoyed it.

The menu has changed and instead of getting the option to select what accompanies your meal. Fried rice or chips etc that no longer shows up. The chicken balls both portions were reheated to the point you couldn’t eat them. Been a customer for years won’t be a customer anymore after the staff were less than helpful with our complaint

Awful ordered food waited over an hour they told me they would Update me on where it was and they didn’t and the food never even arrived.

When I am in Glasgow I always get a takeaway from the Yum as the food is delicious and make my favourite dish which I struggle to get in alot of other places. If ordering online you get a great discount on the bill. Will alway return there when I am in Glasgow.

Not sure why they are on uber eats. I try to order and then they cancel it 10-20 minutes after accepting the order every single time.

This place had a special combination of skills. Slow-waited 2 hours for delivery. Rude -Had to call 3 times about delivery and they did not care, was hung up on. Thieves-took money but did not even include one of the mains.Tasteless-was bland and old, would of it be better fresh maybe? But texture wise multiple items that were meant to be crispy were borderline wet cardboard by time of delivery. If you want nice Chinese in the southside do not order from here.

Food was so bad had to bin a serlion steak and a portion of mussels. Steak tasted disgusting and couldn't chew the mussels there was something wrong with them.

SCAM: Over 2 hours since I ordered, still no food but they have taken my money. I called twice, bit they hung up. They did the same when deliveroo called them for me. I can't get a refund and now I'm out of pocket and hungry. AVOID!!!
