The food was alright. Nothing special in my opinion. The order of the dishes was the most irritating part. We ordered white rice to go with the food and it came at the very end with nothing to eat it with. It was intended to be eaten with each dish. I absolutely hated the cream brûlée the rhubarb was a terrible addition

Must visit in Belfast. Firstly every drink was on point. Yuzu Spritz and Kiwi Mojito were unbelievable. The dishes come out sporadically so dont expect them all at once. Having said this. The rice which we assumed as an accompaniment to all of the dishes. Was served second to last, which meant it was rendered practically useless. The torched seabass was the highlight. An unbelievable bite. Bluefin Tuna Nigiri was also incredible. Crispy pork dumplings were ok yet the interior lacked a slight pop. The taste of the broccoli tempura paired with the accompanying sauce was delightful yet tasted very oily. The sirloin was cooked to perfection, and tasted great yet slightly dry. At 21:30 after only being there for an hour. We were told kitchen was closing, whilst kitchen staff scrambled past with washing up which dampened the atmosphere slightly. Nonetheless a stellar evening. Highly recommend.

Tasty, creative Asian dishes and a diverse menu offering. We ordered a selection of fish and vegetarian dishes and everything tasted fresh, delicious and perfectly seasoned. Expect to pay slightly more than average but overall the experience, food and service offer good value for money.

The place is quite nice, and the atmosphere is unique. They have separate menus for lunch and dinner, and I tried the dinner menu. The tempura broccoli was my favorite, followed by the prawn toast. I also had the Ibérico pork, but the toast was a bit strong—maybe just for me—since the pork was very tender. I’ll definitely come back to try more options.

The taste was average and the price was a bit expensive. We had never eaten it before so we ordered two to taste it. It didn’t suit my mother’s taste, so we wanted to pay. He first entered the price on the POS machine (it was clearly written on the menu that a 10% tip would be counted for more than five people) and asked us if we needed to change it. My mother I didn't hear clearly, so I pressed confirm, and then another popup popped up asking whether to choose a tip, and the waiter reiterated it twice... We had already said that we were not used to eating, and there was no apology. I only saw a disappointed look in the eyes and a greedy desire to get a tip from us in the end. I will not go there again!

I had a booking last night. Couldn’t find my gift voucher so phoned yesterday morning when the restaurant opened and chatted to Grainne, I asked were records kept of gift voucher purchases as I had lost mine to which she replied no but bring your bank statement with the Yugo entry on it or receipt for proof of purchase. I got proof of bank statement from the purchaser and travelled down. Spoke to front of house staff and explained the phone call who said I’m Grainne and that there was obviously a mixup in communication, I said how could there be? And she said she couldn’t honour what I was saying. We went round in circles and she wasn’t agreeing to follow through what she said on the phone, I went to leave and she said do you not want your booking I said no I don’t have my voucher to which she replied there is a charge for cancellation!!!! But I’m not going to charge !!!!! I left the building. Ten minutes later I thought why did I not ask to speak with the manager so I phoned the restaurant and Grainne answered, I asked to speak to the Manager to which Grainne said she was the Manager !! Ok I said, can I speak with the next person in line to which she said there was no-one. As I couldn’t share my experience with anyone other than the person I had the unfortunate experience with I have no other option but to reach out on this platform. Was so looking forward to dining at this restaurant, booking made 3 weeks in advance, but even if I find the gift voucher, I will give to someone else to use.

Went for dinner with my husband and ordered 2 large dishes and 2 small plates each followed by a desert. The padron peppers, iberico pork, and the duck truffle fried rice were particularly good. There were a few cons that made our experience not so great. I felt that the cocktails were overpriced (£12), considering most of the glass was filled with ice. Also we were seated in a booth behind a huge pillar beside the toilets and underneath the aircon. The restaurant itself is full of ambience when you enter but I felt like we didn't get to experience this because we couldn't see anything where we were sitting. It was a busy night as it was Valentines but we had booked it 6 weeks in advance. The service was very quick and friendly, however everytime we finished a plate they were over to take it away immediately even though we were still eating. I have never experienced this in a restaurant before and we both found it a bit unprofessional. They must of been over around 6 times to take things away throughout the duration of our meal. Not great when you’re trying to enjoy your food as it makes you feel a bit rushed and constantly interrupted. I could tell that the servers had been instructed to do this, but I feel this is something the restaurant should reconsider doing as it was very off putting. I would maybe return again although next time we would hopefully be seated at a nicer table amongst the hustle and bustle of the restaurant so we could experience it properly.

I have been to Yugo many times and the food and staff are always great. However on all lunch visits we have been told that the kitchen is closing, no matter what time we have booked for the kitchen has been closing even when some tables haven't been seated elsewhere. Yesterday we were booked at 1:30 and we were told at 14:05 that the savory kitchen was closing, this is compounded by the fact that Yugo is tapas style small plates that can be ordered separately. Staff are always great and accommodating, this just puts a rush on the meal.

Fantastic food and lovely interior design. I visited here with some friends from London and one of them said it may be his favourite meal ever. My second time going in as many months and it’s clear why. Massaman curry was stupidly nice, meat so tender it falls apart at the glance of a spoon. The 3 of us shared 5 plates and the massaman curry, tonnes of food and actually brilliant value despite being more on the expensive side. 100% worth it

Visited here Saturday night. I don't normally leave bad reviews but I had to for here. I have never recieved such bad service in my life, we booked at 8.30 amd ordered around six dishes, the dishes came so fast our table was so full we could move with 5 different dishes hitting the table in about 20 minutes. I understand that the dishes come as they are ready but they were literally thrown at us with zero control from the kitchen or floor. We were there to enjoy our evening and felt so rushed. We also were seriously disappointed with the level of the food, I had to send back the nigiri because it was literally just a huge ball of rice with no taste of sishi-su, with tuna plaed on top and was wasabi kasabi that was way too strong for the fish. When we mentioned to the manager Grainne but she couldn't care less and was beyond arrogant. We tried to ask our original waiter for the bill for him to dismiss us saying he's not dealing with us anymore. We left within the hour and will never return. Would leave zero stars for service if I could.

Asian tapas of superb quality and exceptional execution. Served up as and when the dish is ready. The staff are on-point, friendly, relaxed, and knowledgeable. Wines are a good match for the food. First disappointment was that the menu on the website was totally different to that in the restaurant. Some dishes completely different and the few dishes that were the same were on average £2 more expensive on the restaurants menu. Think this is very sloppy for a classy restaurant that Yugo claims to be. Waiter was really nice that’s why I have scored service 5/5. First meal to be delivered was the chicken thigh bao bun. Disappointed as the online menu said there was a pork belly bao, but alas, it was not on the restaurant menu. One chicken bao cost £7 and I couldn’t help but think it was the exact same tastes as a 99p mayo chicken from McDonald’s. If I closed my eyes I genuinely would be able to tell the difference between the two. Next was the crispy pork dumplings. They were nice however soy dressing may have been a bit too salty. A few minutes later came the pork and mushroom. At £16 I near chocked. 4 thinly sliced pieces of pork with some mushrooms on top in an average tasting sauce. Total rip off. I have need to tapas-style restaurants in the past and know that dishes come out whenever ready however it was a 15 minute wait between dish 3 and 4 which was far too long. The duck and the broccoli tempura eventually came out. Two nice dishes however broccoli appeared cheaper on website menu and the duck whilst appearing pink was quite tough ti get the knife through. Still waiting on final dish and had to ask a female server if out truffle duck fried rice was ready. She said she would go get it and appeared moments later with it. Annoyed that I had to asked but service was very slow. Truffle duck fried rice was nice however it was a considerably small size portion that the one that was served to the table beside us. No desserts ordered. Was really looking forward to ordering the dishes that appeared on the website menu. However, of course they were totally different to that in the restaurant.

Best meal my wife and I have had in a very long time!...From the first steps inside the restaurant we were treated like VIPs, with such a diverse choice of restaurants and eateries in this lovely capital you have to stand out and boy YUGO definitely does this in spades. The "staff" are so professional - with a welcoming smile we were shown to our table, with menus in hand the waiter returned to our table and politely explained how to order our food, what size the portions were like and how to expect the food to come out, ie staggered. What amazing food! We had Crispy Pork Dumplings, Szechuan Lamb Croquettes and Tomato Salad with Pickled Shallots - these were the tapas dishes that arrived hot and very tasty ...Our main of Beef Massaman Curry for two people was delicious. Then came our desserts of Passion Fruit Tart and Strawberry Meringue were (to coin a phrase) .'to die for' ....Overall, it was a beautiful experience for us both and a lasting memory of our time spent in your amazing City.

A an expansive restaurant with beautiful decor in the heart of Belfast. The service was extremely attentive and friendly, which was refreshing. Music was a tad too loud for my taste. Seating on the wooden chairs wasn’t to my comfort level either. This was first real time having any kind of tapas anywhere in NI, so as expected orders arrived as soon as they were ready. Plating was fine. The kimchi bao - some fillings had a slight chill to them like they’d just come out of the fridge and bao bun wasn’t as hot as they usually get served. The corn and broccoli were fine, nothing overwhelmingly special or moreish, which I think for the portion size:price is what makes it the 3* review overall, flavour profile for my choices just wasn’t quite there for me. They had a nice drink menu, kombucha would be an obvious addition. It was extremely busy by the time we left and it seems booking is highly necessary. Don’t think I’ll be back but it seems to hit the spot for plenty of others though!

Asian tapas. Genius. We would return for the charred corn with miso alone. Crispy pork dumplings on a bed of dried smokey chillis were not for the faint of heart: but were not as ferocious as they looked; crispy skin chicken thighs with cucumber pickle and lime were much more delicate than they sound; and fried rice with duck, truffle and fried egg was a heavenly hit of carbs, protein and umami. We were advised that people order four or five things each, which sounds a bit excessive- we ordered four items and were perfectly happy. We will be back, not least for the short ribs with massaman curry, peanut and rice. You could blow the budget here, or you can get away with spending less than £50 and having a very pleasurable time. We walked in with no booking and managed to get a table immediately, but it was a quiet Tuesday. Booking recommended for later in the week. A sleek and stylish addition to the Belfast dining landscape.

If you are looking for sushi, there is no sushi. Just facts: 1. Side dishes that might be served in same time with main ones were served in very end and it was no pleasure to eat them by itself. 2. There is no normal proper sushi (be aware), they told that I can have 5 pieces sushi with BEEF and only 2 with salmon?? Even if I have allergy and don't eat beef. 3. It is very very loud in there. Like you'll not have a quiet date just for you two. Or we were very unlucky with tables. 4. Servants were friendly and kind which was great 👍 5. Food was ok. Best dish was broccoli side dish. Best Asian Fusion I've been to! Really creative with the food and you can taste the quality. The cocktails were all very surprisingly good too. Highly recommend.

Great place, the location at night could be a bit off putting as it is in an alley , however, the food is just great . The Fusion really works and the food is so tasty. We were advised to get about three items. I had five because the portions were so small. I didn't think I would be full. However, I was very full by the end. Geraldine was excellent and giving us information about the menu.

Great atmosphere inside. The service is amazing, quick to help and very accommodating. Food was great; the portions are on the smaller side so you can sample multiple things if you want, and everything was delicious. Cocktails are also on par.

One of the very top recommendations in Belfast. Asian - Irish fusion at its best and tastiest. Fabulous coconut margarita is an absolute must. Mackerel, tartar and broccoli dishes were our favorite.

The food at this restaurant is excellent! Every dish introduced a unique tasty flavor. The portions for all dishes are small, except for the share plate, which was more than enough for 2 people. The service was great, the staff were friendly and nice. The interior of the restaurant is really nice, but it’s a kinda loud in there and that’s not really something I prefer. It’s close to the city center which was an advantage. All in all, if I’m ever in Belfast again, I’m definitely eating here again.

We turned up without a booking and the staff were lovely and found us a table. Amazing food and staff were so helpful when us country bumpkins had no idea what to order! The tempura prawn bao bun was sublime!

Really great lentil soup here, full of flavor and very comforting! The falafel tastes great and is perfectly seasoned. I wish they added more cucumber pickles and had turnip pickles as well. You should definitely try the falafel wrap with black tea and mint – it’s so good! The lentil soup and falafel wrap are both vegan, along with other options they offer. Everything is delicious and fresh. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is friendly. A great spot for anyone craving a tasty, vegan-friendly meal.
