Taste of Ethiopia Belfast in Belfast

The shiro was the best I’ve had since visiting East Africa. Ask for non vegan Shiro. Sooooooo tasty. The beef curry, sooo tender. I don’t have words, I’m in my happy place now;-}

Ordered from here tonight, wasn’t overly impressed to be honest. The Doro Alicha Wot (Large Portion ) was very bland very little meat. However the Beg Key Wot (Large Portion ) was more tasteful I did put on notes for this meal to be extra hot which was nicer flavour compared to other meal, but still very little meat. Great portion of rice for price - the Andenet was “ok”. Wasn’t overly a fan of the Injera but was willing to try. Overall I might give this another try as wasn’t all bad. Just more flavours required and quantity. Staff was very friendly also

Incredible takeaway, one of the best vegetarian takeouts I've had in 2023. The platters are good with inerja (fermented pancake.)

What a refreshing change and pleasant surprise, finding Ethiopian cuisine in our wee Belfast. Food was fresh, tasty and of course generous. Thank you to the nice family for bringing a flavour of Africa in this island.

Just moving to the area, we needed to get something in and love trying new things. While we have heard of Ethiopian food, when I say this slaps, IT SLAPS HARD! Great food, amazing flavours and fantastic pricing.

Don't worry if you can't find a restaurant. It is a residential house. It's in the corner of the block. When I got there I just rang the door, a nice gentleman opened the door and greeted me. On top of our orders, they gave us a can of soft drink, that's really nice and thoughtful. I never had Ethiopian food before and was pleasantly surprised. The food is delicious and full of flavour. I always joke I don't like vegetables but I'm in love with their vegetables platter! The sourdough pancakes are a must too to go along with the main dishes!

Not sure if I got here on a bad day. Most of the dishes I ordered had no taste to them, and those that did had a really overpowering chemically type taste that lingered in my mouth, like very concentrated coriander or something? Disappointed as I had high hopes.

Delicious home cooked take away, not fancy just really tasty, satisfying food. We has lentil Samusa and.spring rolls to start both really tasty 3 of each so we shared. For main we got the Bayay Netu a mix of 4 vegetable dishes I would highly recommend. Hubby had Lamb curry - Beg Key Wot which he loved and I had the vegan Shimbra the flavour of which where devine but be warned it's very spicy. Had rice and Injera with the mains and it was a really good feed. We will definitely order again.

What a food, wow. I have ordered a different type of food like keywat, bayay-net, from test of Ethiopia restaurant. Absolutely it is delicious food. Definitely i will come back again.

Amazing authentic Ethiopian food - after moving back from Addis 3 yeas ago, we were transported right back with super quality and tasty ingera and food - could not recommend more highly - amisiginalo!

We got a flyer in our letterbox and decided to try Ethiopian food for the first time. We LOVED everything about it. Very easy to place an order through their website, delivery came at estimated time, and the food was delicious! My teenage cousin who is a vegetarian said that this was the best takeaway he’s had in Belfast since he moved here. Thank you, we’ll be back!

This is a new flavour for our Belfast taste buds. I'd never had Ethiopian food before but I will say it was absolutely delicious. Our order was missing extra rice and a meat curry which had to be refunded on Just Eat - which was a shame. The kitchen is actually in a house. When you place an order for collection you need to knock on the door. It's strange at first but it works.

I was really disappointed trying this restaurant for 1st time considering all 5 stars reviews. It really makes me questions the legitimacy of these reviews. Food packaging was terrible, everything was packed into one single container. The delivery took 55mins to arrive. The food portion was really small and overly priced for how much it was not to mention it didn't come with any rice!

The food (Beg Key Wat, Beg Alicha Wat & Injera) was all really tasty, and the service was great!

a fantastic new flavour, the Ethiopian berbere makes the wot or stew a unique dish, best served with the injera flat bread, the dishes have a unique full flavour. Taste of Ethiopia has excellent efficient service. Did I say you have the best Injera.

Really lovely and different from the usual takeout. It’s wonderful to see more options like this in Belfast. We ordered the mixed starter, yellow chicken curry, red beef curry, cabbage, injera, and the red vegan curry - all delicious. Injera is the perfect vehicle and so filling. Service was great.

Super tasty and healthy home cooked food. Take away only, great that it’s right across from Ormeau park where you can sit and eat. Very happy to have Ethiopian food in Belfast!!
