Bistro Este in Belfast

Small place, a lot of attention to food and details. Maybe prices a little high for not too abundant dishes...

Exceptional service with beautiful food. We had a great night here with friends last night. We had a baby with us and the staff were unbelievably attentive and helpful, even rocking him over while we were eating! Every single member of staff were so friendly and attentive the whole night along with beautiful food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere I would highly recommend it to anyone I know!

We recently attended a birthday event in Bistro Este. The food was amazing as always and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great and everyone had an excellent time!

I enjoyed a fantastic meal on Friday - Korean chicken to start and hake for the main - absolutely delicious. The service was very good and there was a great, lively atmosphere in what looked like a fully booked restaurant.

Very disappointed in Sunday evening roast dinner. Roast potatoes rock hard overcooked as were the Yorkshire puddings. Just didn't live up to expectations after a nice starter it went downhill. The beef was more like pulled pork id expect nice slices of beef. Chicken was OK but overall sad to have to say we wouldn't go back at the prices

This is a really special restaurant. It is our favourite place for dinner in Ballyhackamore and has never disappointed. The food is wonderful - fresh, flavoursome and seasonal. The cocktails and wine are excellent along with Guinness on tap and a selection of local craft beers. The service is always warm, friendly and attentive, you are made to feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The ambience is relaxed and intimate, perfect for date nights and conversation. Give it a go, you will not be dissapointed.

Strongly recommended Sarah received our booking for 12 and we had a great time. Service was excellent, food choice and variety was excellent. The food quality was excellent, highly recommended and will be back! Atmosphere is laid back and relaxed, perfect pairing with the restaurant setup.

Went for dinner before my friend flew back to Canada. We had shared the Korean Chicken - fantastic. I had the lamb ragu and was. It disappointed. My friend had the chicken supreme and again delicious. For desert we each had the crème brûlée and it was marvellous. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was perfection. Definitely recommend definitely will be back.

A great place for a nice occasion. Really good menu, perhaps lacking on the chicken dishes but offers something different than the normal. Seafood casserole was amazing, full of flavour and meat. Service excellent and staff were lovely.

Had a lovely evening here with my wife, Sarah and Jasmine are really friendly and the atmosphere is great and the food is fabulous,My risotto was the nicest I've ever tasted and my wife said her monkfish scampi was delicious.Its a family run business and feels homely and always chilled.Highly recommend.

Good food and beers bit pricy though

Not overly impressed. Food average , steak and chips lacked seasoning, peppered sauce extremely runny and tasteless. Lamb was a extremely small portion of meat. Granted the wine was great and cocktails nice. We waited nearly 45 minutes from ordering our main coarse to recieving our main coarse. Was given no acknowledgement or apology. Not really the sort of service I'd expect with the decor and prices of the place.

We visited Bistro Este for the first time yesterday evening. I could talk at length about why it was so good, but it all comes down to three ingredients: atmosphere + food + service. A new favourite. Go enjoy!

Beautiful meals everytime we go! Our favourite local however the loo is always in need of a clean, it seems to get worse as the evening goes on so must not be checked regularly. When we bring friends it's always a bit of a blight on an otherwise fabulous place!

Well that was possibly the best meal I’ve ever eaten. As a massive foodie I would recommend this place highly. Food and service was 5* and the cocktails were amazing The Venison pastie is mankind’s greatest invention since the wheel.

Make a point of going to Bistro Este every time I'm back in Belfast. Excellent food, service and chilled atmosphere. Hadn't realised they do an early bird special, but chicken liver parfait, venison bolognese and an affogato for £25 was stunning value. Highly recommend

First time here, and we were celebrating my daughters birthday. We all had a great evening, and the food was first class.

First visit, top class food. Beef bourguignon packed with flavour and the pan fried chicken was the same. Well worth the price paid. Nice chilled atmosphere and good service. Shall definitely return.

A family run restaurant in Ballyhackamore, serving locally sourced produce in a modern, European style menu, Bistro Este offers a friendly welcome, and great quality dishes. For Starters we had Crispy ham hock rillettes with remoulade & burnt apple puree, Deep fried squid with Asian slaw & lemon mayo, and an outstanding dish of House fermented kimchi rolls and an Asian dipping sauce. The seafood options were terrific, and our choices of Monkfish Scampi with fries, Linguini with Portavogie prawns, Tiger prawns & mussels in a chilli, lemon, & parsley butter sauce, and a moist Pan-fried Hake in a Goan curry sauce with prawns, spiced crab cakes and hispi cabbage, all really hit the spot. A long overdue return to this excellent East Belfast eatery.

My husband and I went for food here on Saturday night and it was absolutely stunning. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. I couldn't recommend this place enough. One of East Belfast's finest places to dine. We will definitely be back soon and next time we will bring our family and friends back.

We had dinner here on Friday night as a party of 5. It is the best meal I have had out in a very long time. The food was absolutely excellent - I had the Korean chicken bao to start, followed by pork cheeks and the white chocolate and raspberry creme brulee. All 5 thought their meals were fantastic. The staff were excellent and really helpful. Drinks were really nice and the bill was very reasonable given the quality of the food. Can't wait to go back!

A delicious meal with wonderful service. It was our first meal out since lockdown and we felt safe and well looked after. Would really recommend the Hake and 16 hour feather blade beef.

Food is great and service is excellent. If it had a more extensive menu or even a range of specials available then I would give it five stars.

Lovely food and wine. Great to be a restaurant being able to hear the same people at table as well - really nice atmosphere and the sunday lunch is lovely too.

The food was stunning good. Service was excellent too. Definitely worth popping in and we'll be back. My only gripe was the service charge being added to the bill. I would have happily tipped the staff but I very strongly disagree with forced service charges.

Had 3 courses from the early bird menu. Starter was lovely, as was the desert. The main course was fairly simple but well done. Nice atmosphere & service was excellent. Fantastic value for money. Will definitely return.

I ate here on 13th April, as part of a party of 3. First time in Bistro Este. It was a great experience. An imaginative menu and a well-chosen wine list. I especially enjoyed the smoked mackerel Scotch egg starter. Main was a beautifully cooked roast duck. Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc and an "elegant sufficiency" of a French Pinot Noir and a great standard of service all helped make for a fun evening. We'll be back.

My starter was a bit small. Maybe I didn't know what the normal portions are. The main course made up for it. Huge feed and delicious too. My side was also a good helping. Barely finished it.
