Visited with my wife and three children for a late breakfast. The first thing I noticed was how spotlessly clean the cafe appeared to be. We were warmly greeted by our host, and great care was taken to ensure our rather demanding children’s order was taken correctly. It was - and the food when it arrived was lovely. Between the 5 of us we had the Ulster Fry, Pancakes, Waffles, Fresh Orange Juice and Coffee - so a good range of the menu. All of it was tasty and fresh - and served on nice hot plates. The eggs were nicely prepared - and with the heat of the plates - cooked a little more when the yoke was released . Perfect breakfast for me.

Located in Scotch St Downpatrick this Cafe is comfortable and cosy. Staff and proprietor Jemma are most efficient and friendly. Great coffee and super selection of cakes. Got lots of top ups. When you call ask Jemma about the bespoke cakes she personally creates for birthdays etc, they are a work of art. This cafe is on my radar for frequent visits.

Called in on spec as we'd read great reviews. I ordered the salt and chilli chicken starter size as I didn't want a big lunch. My partner ordered seafood chowder. My "starter" portion was pathetically small. 3 or 4 tiny popcorn sized pieces of fairly tasteless chicken on a few leaves and garlic mayo. It would not have satisfied a 5 year old much less an adult. My partner said her chowder was nice but she found several bones in it. I think she was being polite as it didn't look appetising. She had a pint of Guinness zero and I had a half pint of Guinness. The bill £27 ....a shocker for the tiny portions and lack of taste. The atmosphere in the restaurant was akin to a mausoleum. The waitress was pleasant and the toilets were spotless. Based on our experience we will not be back. The Lobster Pot or the Artisan, both nearby are much better.
