Shocking. We come in and sit down. Ask the staff what the options are for gluten free. Get told that “yes we can do almost anything and have gluten free soy”. Half the party order whilst the gluten intolerant try to work out the menu (we were told there was an allergen button on the QR code menu). But no. No gluten free list on the app. Manager came over and said - “no, you were told wrong, we don’t have gluten free soy”. Ask how to find on the app and are told “have to open and look at allergen list for each in turn”. Manager also tells my wife that “there’s lots without gluten”. Well I beg to differ. Look at the menu. Hardly anything without gluten. Perhaps a salad and some edamame beans. That’s about it, Really NOT at all allergen friendly. And rather rude and dismissive treatment.

This was my email to the company, take my review from there: Hi I visited your Lakeside branch today after being a regular visit to the Bluewater branch I was expecting the same brilliant service and food, unfortunately not! It must of been around 4-5pm, when we walked in there was a sign saying the fryers were broken but then it turned out they weren’t which we was pleased about. We seated ourselves as no one acknowledged us. Next to us was a lady on a laptop who I assume was the manager, she was the most miserable women I have ever laid eyes on! No smile just sat there on her laptop made us feel a bit awkward as we were directly in-front of her. Anyway ordered our sumo katsu chicken curry which came out with our starters! I started to eat my Katsu and the rice was so cold (not what I am used to at Bluewater) I called the waiter over who had been playing with a chess board previously.. He came over and when I asked about the rice he went off to get it re-heated (no apology) he then went to the moody manager who stared at us like we had made a fuss over nothing, he came back and said that they couldn’t reheat and that the rice is always cold? Sorry I have eaten at Bluewater many times and its never ever been cold! It ruins the curry! He said they could make us another one but would be 45minutes as the rice needed cooking? But then it wasn’t going to be that long and we were given new ones, the waiter went back to playing chess.. no one asked if the rice was better this time! Just zero customer service, I have always been a fan of yosushi and was really disappointed, even the dishes going round were all the same no deserts or green beans! I just felt we paid £45 for an awful meal really and we both left so disappointed.

This is my 'local' Yo-sushi and as a sushi freak I have to go here, but each time I do I get disappointed. Poor selection on the belt, poor seating needing repair /refurb and often items unavailable. On this visit I was concerned to see multiple trays of sushimi (hence raw fish) sitting out on the side when I arrived and still sitting there over an hour later when we left-not good I now prefer to drive over the bridge- an extra 20 minutes is worth it

Even though it was a Monday our bill was excessive for the amount of food served. I am at a complete loss to understand why anyone would visit such an expensive place. Unfortunately, my child likes the idea of the plates going round, I myself, just find in very very expensive. For instance, went for Sunday lunch yesterday in London and the bill was about the same. That Sunday lunch included an alcoholic drink, 3 lunches, and tea. In YO Sushi, we can a few plates of revolving food and they even charge for water. Unreal. To top it all the restaurant is dirty, in the middle of a shopping centre with people walking/screaming past you 5 feet away, is cold, the tables and chairs are inferior to places like Mcdonald's, and the staff are very very average. Not rude though, but nothing special. Avoid. Go to a proper Japanese restaurant. Look at the state of the taps on the table. Picture included. Filthy.

Previously visited here and great service! It seems it's been taken over by new owners and clearly gone downhill. Decided to pop in for sushimi etc after work and was very quiet, only another table booked so thought it would be a good service since they were quiet. Hardly any food on the conveyor belt, we ordered and waited 15 minutes for the rice and then waited another 10 minutes and no sign of sashimi that we ordered. I also had ordered beef teriyaki and fried rice and the lady said their fryer hasn't been working for a few days so couldn't have that ! Very bizarre why you would not replace if it was faulty for many days. Anyway all in all waited 30 mins and by then we gave up and walked out. The manager didn't seem that bothered! I wonder how they cope if it does ever get busy! I suggest you go to the Japanese at the food court which is cheaper and better.

This Yo! Always used to be the best Yo! For many years I have been coming here, but last night was very disappointing. Over priced! Cold food, very small portions, nothing on the belt. Crappy seating area, rubbish menus. It was a very disappointing experience. I'd rather go Wagamama's for the same price!

Yo Sushi is the same food food at all the outlets. Some people might notice the subtle differences from one outlet to the other. Was here with the family for lunch. Initially a few booths were free but by 12.30pm there was a queue Food was good as usual and orders were taken promptly. However the food we ordered (noodles) took 25mins to come; the dumplings more than 30 We were not informed that there would be a wait for the food due to the crowds, until we asked No complaints other than that. Overall a good food experience and pricing is ok

Dreadful service, the fryer is always broken at the Lakeside Yo Sushi and they don't tell you until you have already ordered or eaten something else. The food on the belt is left on there past the time slot and the salmon and tuna goes a funny colour. They also run out of food and close early. I actually wrote a complaint to Yo Sushi about a month ago and never received a reply.

We visited Yo Sushi at Lakeside on the back of a visit to Yo Sushi at another location. We found this viit to be decidedly average, the service was professional and friendly, but the choice of food on the conveyor was very limited. We noticed that as time got on, and the clock ticked nearer to five Thirty PM, the food selection improved... Sadly our visit had not coincided with the improvement. In their defense, the staff were very happy to produce anything we asked for from the menu, while good service, it didn't really replace the lack of free choice from the conveyor...Which for us is kind of the whole point.. Of a trip to Yo Sushi. We will Visit Yo Sushi again, but maybe look for a busier time, when a wider selection of dish is available. One last point... The first Yo Sushi we visited had chopsticks, spoons and disposable tongs to eat with... The one today at Lakeside, had just chopsticks... With which we are not very well trained. Fun, but tiresome.

This was the first time my girlfriend and I visited yo sushi, and we were both very pleased with the visit! Before our visit I thought the restaurant only served sushi and other cold asian foods, but when we arrived we saw a whole host of things on the menu included hot options! We ordered some hot food as well as the sushi, and the chicken katsu curry was delicious, the flavours it produced were lovely! We were a bit off put by the chopsticks and no cutlery on the tables, but after some getting used to we could use the chopsticks well enough to finish our meals! It was a very nice experience and the food was of high quality, we will be returning again

I had a spot of lunch with my wife during a shopping trip. It was blue Monday, which meant all dishes were £2.50 each. I wish I hadn't bothered. I have eaten in yo London a few times, but this was horrible. The sushi tasted very very fishy, which as anyone who eats sushi regularly know, means that the fish isn't fresh. The plastic covers on the food look so old that they were scratched and merky. Not very appetising This restaurant is well below standard, especially for Yo which is usually pretty good.

I often eat here and always enjoy the food however recently I have to say they have taken their eye off the ball for a couple of reasons.- the booth seats are dirty and stained - they also need to be cleaned as well as the tables between customers.- I recently dined there at 1.30pm - what I consider lunchtime - and apart from edamame beans there were no other green plates & only a couple of blue plates. However there was very many pink and purple plates. Customers need more variety in price at lunchtime.

We have come to this one a few times and really enjoyed it and have enjoyed other branches around the UK. However, today I do not think it was as good. - the restaurant was very busy. The Saki took a long time to come - in fact it came out half way during our food and by this time we had water - luckily they picked up on that and did not charge. One of my orders did not turn up - although by then I was full anyway. The food that did come out was very nice though - especially the Katsu Tofu Super Bowl.

Average sushi in the middle of a shopping centre. Basically fast food quality sushi that is not value for money. I would suggest going to a sit down restaurant on the broad walk which will likely be a better experience, as the cost will be similar.

I am a Yo Sushi freak- love it and go usually every fortnight. This is my local branch but I'd rather drive another 20 miles over the bridge to go to Bluewater. At lakeside it's poorly maintained and run, tap trays missing, run out of things often, forget the wasabi and soy in your takeaway bag etc etc. Little things but always screw something up. The waiting staff are great though , very friendly and they know us by now !! So my moan is with the management of the place- sort it out!!!!!

Just had lunch at Yo! Sushi, Lakeside and I'm still on a high. I've always loved sushi & sashimi and this is definitely the best place. The food is always fresh and very tasty. It's also a bonus that you can see the chefs prepare your dishes. My husband is not a sushi lover but there is plenty for him to choose from as there are also chicken dishes, his favourite being the Chicken Katsu Curry. The service is always efficient & attentive and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Special mention must go to Michelle who is very helpful & knowledgeable, a great ambassador for Yo! Sushi & a big asset to the company. I took a 'large salmon & tuna box' for my dinner tonight (yummmmm) and I can't wait for my next visit.

This is the best japanese restaurant. The prices are clearly laid out, so you can choose as many or as little dishes that you want, dishes start at £1.90 - so it won't break the bank. The food is fresh & the service is friendly & efficient. If your not a fish or sushi fan, there is plenty to choose from & I would recommend Chicken Teriyaki which is cooked to order. Only downside - no tempura.

I have tried Yo Sushi in St Pauls, Westfield Stratford, Westfield S Bush, Near Tottenham Court Road, Bluewater, for example, so a few and by comparison Lakeside is always far in advance. Every time I return to Lakeside it is always comforting to find care from the staff remains the same good standard. The food is always great and the staff are always very helpful even if running back and forth to different customers. Further confirmation of my good experience is when the staff managed to accommodate a last minute birthday party for my child, ten at the time, never forgotten. We provided a huge cake that they took in to the back and brought out lit with candles when requested. Whilst not necessarily set up to cater for functions, my last minute request was managed as well as any organised occasion I have had. There were ten of us in attendance and everyone seemed to have a good evening particularly the birthday child who always enjoys a return to the venue for a meal. A recommendation from my family would be we would love a shop restaurant but understand this may not be the best way forward and alternative to this, later opening hours. My favourite Yo Sushi

Have visited the Lakeside YS on a number of occasions and after today have finally decided to call it a day.On the plus side I will say that I love YS food and the server was polite, efficient and helpful.. However there is no point in having a "Blue Monday" if most of the advertised dishes aren't on display. If you add to this that Temura no longer seems to be served...........We were there for lunch and clearly YS were not ready and our table had not been prepped properly. When we last went to Bluewater we queued for YS; here we were the first and only two other tables were later occupied whilst we were there. To summarise, food is normally good when available; good service today.Expensive for what we had.Lacks atmosphere,energy..........Ends

And without any sashimi only 2 members of staff in kitchen restaurant full as it was lunchtime.I do think that this company need to look in this restaurant the takeaway fridge never has anything in this apart from diet coke they could not care less about the customers or the money you pay lets face it this is not a cheap lunch take my advice do not go here unless you want rubbish food and poor service!

Feeling peckish we stopped here (have not eaten here for a couple of years) and I think the standard has improved. The service was pleasant and being "Blue Monday" every dish on the paper menu was only £2.40 with a really good choice of hot and cold dishes. The mixed fish maki was freshly made as we sat near the prep area, the crispy duck seaweed roll was good, the Chicken katsu tasty and most and the pumpkin "fritters" excellent. What really stole the show was the Spicy and pepper squid which was the best squid I have eaten anywhere including places in the med where it should have been better! In fact it was so good we ordered another portion... Service was just right and all staff pleasant but, I do not think they should charge for water!

The food was nice but nothing special, considering the price/quantity ratio I must admit I was expecting better. The chefs were happy to cook any dishes we wanted that weren't on the belt and they were prepared quite quickly. My wife and I visited there this after noon (14th Jan 2012) and in comparison to the Bluewater location, this place is absolutely awful!Firstly we were asked to wait by a server who instructed another server to clean one of the tables so we may be seated. We looked on in total surprise as the server instructed to clean, ignored the request and wandered off to chat with other staff whilst looking at us standing waiting and grinning??When 'finally' seated I turned to see what was on the conveyor and was shocked that there was only a few edamame, a few maki sushi (with odd fillings), and some 'sweet' dishes. So, I thought I'd wait... Whilst waiting I could see that a woman was preparing nigiri zushi (salmon) and rather than prepare a few and get them on the conveyor, she is preparing around 30 pieces - and albeit several other staff are telling her 'people are waiting' - she continued to literally throw odd slithers of fish on the awaiting rice (presentation was also not her strong suit).Fed up with waiting I ordered some nigiri (salmon and tuna) - and after a LONG wait it arrived with a staff member shouting across the conveyor "Erh ya!" I then had to lean across the conveyor to get it. When I looked at the plates - the fish was hanging off the rice - hardly a presentation forte! My wife ordered a noodle dish that arrived at the table with the server literally dumping it on the table and saying much the same as the other server. Delightful dining experience eh? After all, we paid money for this...In comparison to Bluewater - this place beggar's belief. There was only one Japanese that I could see eating there, and 'many' angry looking faces. These two things are normally a 'beware' sign in any sushi establishment. For sure I will not return here. The staff are either badly trained, lack a good management, or could not care less - either way, they can inflict their ways on someone else in future - but It will not be me!

Been going to Yo Sushi since it was born and frequented the one at Blue Water mostly due to the expertise of Dan, who has left now. The quantities use to be right, there was lettuce on the plate and it was clean and presented with respect. The respect is gone now. Somehow the quantities dwindled, then the rocket disappeared on the plate. The belt stopped going around with an example of most things on the menu. The prawns became frozen instead of fresh in some instances. The standard dropped and so did my visits. They were taken over a while back and with that the standards dropped. Won't go back unless there's a massive shake-up.
