Yippon in Glasgow City

Sobresaliente. Pasé por el lugar muchas veces. Hoy he decidido darle una paliza. Absolutamente golpeando. Tenía alitas de pollo y una pechuga de pollo al curry. Servicio rápido y porciones generosas. Estaba tan sabroso que quería ir a por más. Mi nuevo lugar favorito.

No volvería a acercarme a este lugar. Estoy increíblemente molesto. He sido vegetariana la mayor parte de mi vida y pedí comida a Yippon Glasgow, me enviaron sopa de pollo en lugar de miso y tomé dos grandes tragos antes de darme cuenta. Ellos se niegan a hacer nada al respecto y simplemente se colgaron de mí 😭 así que seguramente evitaría si yo fuera cualquiera de ustedes

Evite si su vegetariano/vegetariano tienen cero cuidado con la comida que sacan y dan cero preocupaciones en términos de hacerlo bien... . Gasta tu dinero en otra parte.

Been several times now and the food/service is always unreal. It's genuinely one of my favourite places to grab some food!

Absolutely shocking. I ordered a Katsu curry with fried rice, however I received dry cold chicken with rice and no sauce. Yippon then proceeded to blame the delivery driver and said they could not refund or even send the proper meal? So basically Yippon have stolen almost £14 of my money. Do not order from Yippon shocking customer service

Food is always piping hot which is just amazing in this cold Glasgow weather! Definitely recommend. However, Prices have increased substantially given most customers are strath students. They’re Halal 👍🏼

El personal es genial y el ambiente se siente relajado. La comida fue decepcionante, aunque desafortunadamente, tuve el pollo de sésamo miel que es esencialmente trozos fritos de pollo flotando en lo que sabe como agua azucarada con semillas de sésamo flotando en ella. Buena porción de pollo, pero nada para equilibrarlo en términos de verduras.

Excellent. Food is delicious, staff are friendly and always spotless. Little bit expensive but worth it for the quality.

Ordered via ubereats and sushi arrived in the same bag as hot food and was warm, raised a food safety issue with uber but they said they couldn't do anything. Leaving review so people know to request items in separate bags so not to end up binning food!

The portion is quite big, they give beef & chicken quite generous. The rice isn't delicious, taste dry. Chicken taste better than curry beef

Self service boards make ordering straightforward and waitress brought order to table. Food was excellent, sweet potato curry, salt and chilli chicken and tofu. Wasn't spotless, floor could have been cleaner and tables were cleared but hadnt been wiped. But still enjoyed the meal.

Hello Yippon team, It’s a real feedback. I have been having salt and pepper chips since last 1.5 years at your place. However since last 3-4 times I have realised that not only have you reduced the quantity and started giving in a small bowl but also almost removed all the veggies (onion & peppers) you used to add. Today inspite of requesting to add, my request was completely ignored for the two boxes I took home in the evening. I think that was your USP. Probably, I will have to find an alternative now which is kind of sad.

Not recommended for wheelchair users, as the entrance is regularly blocked with Just Eat riders’ bikes

Really liked the miso soup 🍲! Good selection of starters like gyoza, spring rolls and a Good number of vegetarian options

Strange mix of really nice food at an affordable price, I often drive from Edinburgh to checky Yippon meal - a walk around George square after is also a must!

Today around 15:00 [ came to collect an order and a guy (tall, curly hair and gay) was very rude because he thought I was uber driver. He told me he cannot gibe me my order because he has break.

I got the Chicken Chow Mein and milk tea. The chicken came drowned in sauce and tasted generically blend. The milk tea tasted like cold milk with a hint of tea. The service was fast.

This place is smoking, foods amazing and freshly made when ordered. Staff are friendly enough, although normally just laughing away behind the till. Inside is really well decorated and very modern.

Not happy. Never let me change my order 30seconds after ordering to another chicken dish. Forgot curry sauce also for the meal too, never got put in the bag.

My go-to place for a takeaway. Veggie and Vegan options are great and they give you a more than fair portion for the price.

This is my go to restaurant for lunch at work or at home, even when delivered the presentation is amazing, i dont have pictures because i couldn't wait to tuck in 🙈, the portions are massive even for a big eater like me, its a bit on the expensive side but you're definitely getting your money's worth. Great restaurant

Best food ive ever had the privilege of consuming. I went here for the first time two weeks ago and have thought about it everyday since, i have dreamt about it and am making a return in the next couple days. Me and my bestie who i went with are genuinely planning on moving to a flat or smth next to this restaurant so we can eat it whenever we please (every day) and i will be opening a whole bank account just to keep money aside for this food. If you haven't been here you haven't lived, honestly i have recommended it to everyone i know.

Best fast food around. Always fresh, and very timely. I like the kiosk ordering.. it really makes it simple. I will continue to eat here!!

We ordered from here and recommend it highly, I’m very impressed by the quality of the sushi - it’s incredibly fresh and their vegan sushi is the best I’ve tried in Glasgow. Loved the salt and chilli chips too, and the Bao.

Went in for a quick takeaway on a Thursday night just after 8pm- it closes at 8:30pm. The girl (assuming it be the manager) rolled her eyes when she saw us and quickly stated it was takeaway before we had even said one word. When ordering she was yelling through to the kitchen what we were having and then said wait down there, meaning the end of the service desk. When the food was ready she yelled our names and slammed it down in front of us! The boy behind the desk stated ‘it has been a long day’, the girl serving had a face like thunder, no need to give such attitude when we are giving them custom. She could have kindly said we are closing soon so not taking any more orders. Food was piping hot never the less, but chicken was very dry. Will not be back!

Can’t go wrong with it, the Yippon special hits the spot whether it’s lunch or dinner. Just enough food to save you for dessert after 😅. Would also recommend the salty af munchy box

Very nice place and food overall. It was very clean and it had a chill vibe. I ordered chicken fried rice and gyoza and although the chicken was a bit salty, it tasted okay. My friends enjoyed their food and it arrived quickly. I would come here again but I would order something different. :)

Great portion sizes and good flavour. A little expensive but a quick grab to get near university.

A member of the team noticed I was on the phone for ages after my order arrived on my table. He then kept my food aside to keep warm! So helpful and professional (honestly didn't expect that in this type of eateries) he made the experience great and made the ok food that much nicer!

Ordered the chicken noodle soup, chicken katsu curry and the Yippon special. Portion sizes were huge, it’s halal and food was flavoursome. Would recommend!

Plenty of things to choose from, quick and quality service. It is busy, however, you can always find a seat to enjoy their delicious food.

Good food but very pricey compared to the rest of the street. Service not fantastic, e.g. walked in through the open doors at 11:59 only to be told to leave because they didn't open until 12:00 (couldn't I have just waited inside for 60 seconds?). Went to Oaka instead.

Decent enough food. Place is always busy. Cannot give it 5* as the food is not perfect but is really good. Really good for a takeaway. Service is average. Nothing great but all in all value for money as the prices are amazing for the quality.

Tasty food in large portions. The place is conveniently close to the uni. Ordering is through interactive displays like at large burger chains. The place is very efficient and can be very busy at peak times. You can sit in or take out.

Fantastic food, but appalling service. I have absolutely zero complaints about the food. It was really tasty, well cooked and well presented. It’s probably the best take-out food I’ve had for a long time. Unfortunately, I wasn’t so impressed with the service. I ordered several meals online and went to the restaurant to collect when the order was ready. The restaurant itself is really clean, it has a good atmosphere and it’s very trendy. I waited at the ‘please wait here for collection’ and the staff continued doing what they were doing behind the counter. I waited…and waited and the staff just walked past without any eye contact. After 15 minutes, when a member of staff gave me eye-contact, I was able to ask if they had my order. It was sitting in a bag on the counter. I told them I’d been waiting for 15 minutes and they just handed me bag…no apology. It was really quiet at the time, there were no other customers, and the staff were chatting as they were cleaning trays and worktops. I could have otherwise accepted the delay was due to it being a busy period. Hopefully this was a one-off because the food really was excellent.

Ordered direct for collection and had to wait an additional 30mins on top of the agreed collection time, standing like a plonker at the collection point and being ignored because we were not dressed in courier gear was also annoying. The food was alright, not the best, not the worst. Think Chinese buffet quality grub. On a side note, we were standing around for 30+ mins and there were plenty uber orders just sitting on the counter most not anywhere near a hot plate so expect a luke warm uber delivery.

This was our second visit here. Food didn’t take too long despite being busy. Like that you can order from the table and just sit and wait for the food to arrive. Food was good quality and nice and warm. Like this place although despite ordering almost £100 in food, they had the cheek to charge us for a paper bag to take our leftovers home. Thought that was a bit of a joke!

Slightly disappointed with the sushi and ramen offerings, ramen was very salty and overall was nothing to rave about. Price is too high in my opinion for what is offered, but will fill you up

The thought of Yippon brings me to drool. This is hands down one of my favourite take aways in Glasgow and their Salt and Chilli chips are a different class.

Ordered the ramen with the Korean broth and chicken gyoza. Wow!!! Honestly, AMAZING!!!!

Have been visiting Yippon on and off for a few years now. The food is of good quality, but the portions are not very large although arguably adequate. Lately, they have installed self service ordering kiosks which are slow and clunky - not like the ones in other major fast food outlets. The service is very slow at lunchtime (particularly on a Friday) due to the large number of Deliveroo / Uber Eats orders being prepared. Expect to spend 30 mins of your lunch hour waiting on your order. This has happened on my last two visits. The prices have also sky rocketed in the last two years.

Lovely baos and gyozas, served quickly at the table and friendly staff. The toilets were also very clean!

Fabulous fresh and tasty food, served quickly. Had the salmon poke bowl and green jasmine tea. Friendly and helpful staff and a nice, relaxing atmosphere. Useful socket for recharging phone as well.

I needed a quick lunch and fancied sushi and found this nearby to where I was staying. I was able to order very easily using their online system and pick up around 15 minutes after I ordered which was lovely and convenient. Their menu is really varied and there are loads of veggie/vegan options, so the biggest challenge was choosing! I had the crispy avocado maki, tofu bao buns and yasai gyoza. It was all absolutely lovely and full of flavour. If I had a slight problem it was that it was very spicy - but didn't take away from my enjoyment of the food. The staff were so friendly when I went to pick up. It looked like a pleasant place to sit in and eat too. The prices are perhaps a little on the expensive side - I spent just over £20 - but I thought it was well worth it.

Been there twice a month, always on the same night of the week. Most recent visit was colourful. Food was as good as usual, but the staff were talking really loudly, and just casually swearing with a f@*& thrown in for good measure right in front off all the customers. It was clear some of the staff members were embarrassed with the conversation. I guess some people just want to be heard, even if they represent a company.

Great little sushi place that saved us from becoming famished while exploring Glasgow. We sat at the elbow bar and enjoyed some people watching while eating some good sushi and excellent boba tea. The pot stickers were good too!

A favourite among students, this unprepossessing restaurant offers great food at great prices. The food is served in recyclable containers & you can order from your table by scanning the menu.

Came here for lunch with some work pals. Wanted to try it out as we had heard good things. We were not disappointed. The portions are plenty big enough! Service was quick, either at the desk or ordering on your phone. There were 8 of us and we all were served our food within 15 minutes. Absolutely worth every penny! Can recommend the honey chilli chicken!

My favorite asian restaurant in Glasgow.

Really tasty. Is it in store or takeaway We have had a takeaway from yippon at least 3 times and it’s always been great: we love the sushi, red curry and the katsu in particular. Today we also visited in store and that when I realised I hadn’t wrote a review. Really deserve a great review as the food is delish but also it’s great value for money. It hard to get a great takeaway in term of flavour and temp but these guys know how to do it. The packaging is also really good so everything arrives fresh and in great condition. Good work guys

The service was great. The rice was not quite cooked and watery. The satay beef was chewy and tough and the sauce like an odd flavoured water. Spring rolls were obviously frozen with nearly zero filling. The chicken rice also not quite cooked and chicken chewy. 34 pounds. Very disappointed.

This place is always good for food. Good prices, foods tasty, and the light and modern seating area is just a nice place to hang out.

Was semi regular customer when they first opened. It's completely different now, more like a Chopstix chain. Very inauthentic, do not go if you are expecting half decent authentic Chinese food. Ordered the honey glazed chicken and it was more of a drowned chicken in an overly sweet sauce. There are better options nearby for real Asian food.

I searched it online because I’m craving for saseme chicken. However, I got a soup of honey saseme chicken. Unbelievable, pretty nice place, but the food umm nah. Wherever I go, saseme chicken never had so much water like soup!!

First time trying this place. Food is extremely over priced with a poor portion size. Salt and chilli chips were so stale and hard I could have shocked to death. Would not recommend this place for dinner as one portion is around £12 and its really not enough for the price. Only reasons for 2 stars in the taste of the rice and the honey chicken was good.

The food wasn't bad but I wouldn't call it authentic Japanese food, an amazing place for students to eat between lectures and to hangout after classes.
