Yew Tree in Birmingham

Amazing carrabean food its ashame they dont do curry Mutton when i went on friday. But they do a Mutton soup. They dont do rice and peas just the jerk chicken but the jerk sauce os just amazing the spices are just right. The festival and dumplings are soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside. The sky juice you can actually taste the ginger. Amazing place lovely staff great tv screens and music is spot on. Very impressive

They need to have more than one exit was very dangerous amount if people in this place people jumping over gate to get in when it was definitely over capacity. Really good authentic Jamaican food, good music

The service is good. And the food is excellent. But they have to do something about the tiny minority of selfish people who use drugs and drive vehicles into the outdoor seating area.

The place to be on a Friday and Saturday night. Nice vibes.

Oh my days the day time staff are so combative really need a lesson in customer service. If you ever misplace or. loose any valuable do no expect any help from these inappropriate females .... They not like us

I am committed to supporting Black-owned businesses, but I feel it's important to share an honest account of my recent visit to Jerky John's (Food out the back of the yew tree). My family and I stopped by the yew tree last night for a late snack to take home, we ordered a variety of food including pepper prawns, honey prawns, jerk chicken, fries, and soup. Unfortunately, we've all come down with a severe case of food poisoning. I've been particularly sick, unable to even leave the house today. Typically, I have nothing but praise for Jerky John's—where the food has consistently been top-notch, especially the fish and the pepper prawns which are usually my favorites. However, this time, the food simply didn't meet the usual standards; it tasted off, and now, the kids, my sister and both my partner and I are quite ill. I'm really disappointed by this experience, particularly because I value this establishment and their contribution to the community. I hope this incident will be looked into so that it remains an isolated one. Sorry for the negative feedback but this sickness was unreal.

Nice pub vibes. Ol' skool Soul, Dancehall, Reggae & RnB. Big people vibes. You can go outdoors on a summer night. I didn't have food, but Caribbean food can be purchased outside. It can get extremely warm inside, but that doesn't take away from the great atmosphere. Over 30's 🤔. Security on the door.

Jerky johns food is good and the Friday Saturday entertainment is decent especially if you like Caribbean music (reggae dancehall soca)

Love this place. Have been going there for the last 15 years and would recommend it to anyone. Food and music is spot on.

Pathetic! Only gave it 1 star otherwise can't post! Google says Yew tree accepts away fans but that's wrong, they don't so didn't even get in! Welcome to 1975!!!

Didn't actually go in , put off by the dodgy door staff, entry fee ranged from £2-£7 and then said only joking, hmmm , no thanks.

My favorite reggae DJ and the staff are great. The place itself could do with a make over but the crowd is cool and the music is excellent. Love it. I have never had the food so I dont know.

Went with friends on a Saturday night, and it was packed and very busy. Didn't expect it to be like that, but it was. The food was amazing, by the way.

what a find!! an excellent place, preferred the Friday night as it was more reggae music. Saturday was a mixture, place was ram which shows how good it is. I had the roast fish - HUGE piece and is was absolutely gorgeous!! OMG outstanding!! Well done, a brilliant place and all of the bar staff are very friendly and inviting.

The jerk pork and festival are amazing.

We shared a nite at this venue which we came away feeling very satisfied. Food, had a fish dinner which was great.

This is a rating for the jerk BBQ meats and meals served at the pub. It is authentic and OUTSTANDING! The jerk pork has to be the best in Brum Town! You Gotta Eat Here! 😋😋😋 PS... Ate the food too quickly again, and I forgot to take photos! But next time I eat there, I will add some photos! Promise!

QUITE A DIVERSE VENUE WHICH A MULTITUDE OF NATIONS FREQUENT. I LIKED THE MUSIC, THE DRINK WAS REASONABLY PRICED BUT THE FOOD WAS GOOD, BUT ABIT TOO PRICEY FOR ME.

went just after watching the villa match, its a short walk from Witton station, great Jamaican food. Only down side was bottles only from bar next to beer garden so had to go through to the bar for pints. Friendly pub for Villa fans

Room for improvement especially with service.

If anyone is going to villa park do not park here, they were charging £5 which went up to £7 last season. we parked there yesterday and we were charged £10. We won't be parking there again. Also, there are rats running around all over the place. Avoid.

Friendly staff good music the beer is not bad Friday & Saturday nights are the best check it out.

It’s a very relaxed venue, doesn’t really pick up until after 12am. So if you want to chill and listen to some tunes, this is da place.

Another younger crowd than before, no atmosphere and music was dreadful, won't be in a hurry to go back!

Lovely stop off point on route to Villa Park for a concert. The staff and patrons friendly, helpful and welcoming. It's a basic neighbourhood pub with heart. I couldn't comment on food as we didn't eat there, however there, however we did see a couple of meals and they looked and smelt delicious. We would return happily 😊

It was a lovely evening out the place was mostly filled with young people and I must say they were very well behavioured the place was buzzing

I arrived here @approximately 1am after leaving another event.. Crowded atmosphere.but didn't appeal to me but a good place for late night partying./beverages..I believe this events opens until 3am or 4am..Fridays/Saturdays..We'll worth a.look if you are a party. Diva..security measures .friendly/polite/tight. Bar staffs friendly/courteous/polite.

Great pub great atmosphere great people

This is a bit spit and sawdust but the atmosphere and the music on the night more than made up for it. If you like reggae music this is a place you should visit on the weekend. To start with they were a bit slow musically but soon picked up. At the back outside they serve jerk chicken amongst other food. If you do go out the back you can still enjoy the music. Parking is not bad around there but allow for some very bad parking by others so choose your spot carefully. I will visit this pub again very soon.

Not a welcoming place for white people at all, given lots of dirty looks and after we went outside for a smoke, security wouldn't let us back in as he said we Don't blend in with everyone else. Plenty of diverse pubs in this area and all are very welcoming places, except the yew tree, very racist place, don't waste your time. Scumbags

Friday night unplanned destination. We see a late drink. 3 couples 5 white. Didn't really fit in. 90% let us feel it. But the 10% that weren't hostile made it a great LOUD late drink

I like this pub, very friendly staff and very friendly locals, they knew we were Wolves fans in a Villa pub but we were made to feel very welcome, which is quite rare for visiting supporters in home supporters pubs across the country.

Jerky john is the best jerk in Birmingham big up big Roy and strongman for the great jerk chicken and pork and big up 20 and john for the soup ,fry dumplings, rice and peas curry mutton and festival yewtree is the best in Birmingham

This rating is for Jerky John, the Jerk spot behind the pub. The food was really good. The mutton soup full of flavor, as was the the Jerk Chicken and my favorite Jerk Pork😋🥰; very tender and moist, very good. You can choose salad, festival or fried dumpling as your sides.. common Jamaican staples. People were crowding the counter to order their food. The owner was very courteous moving around making sure everyone was satisfied. We had a great time hanging out with family.🇬🇧🇺🇲🇯🇲 The Yew Tree pub itself was ok... seems to have a large following. People kept arriving and leaving. A great way to spend an evening out.

Food is nice but i went there weekend on a Friday night the one woman wasn't friendly i was talking with manners didn't see any manners or respect back. If she didn't want to come to work just stay at home and watch TV. Am spending good money to like everyone's else and i can go elsewhere to spend my money. And i come a good way from my home to come there have some manners to the peoples and to your customer's please. Just talking the truth am running a business to in Weston-super-Mare and living in Worcester. Regards
