Yee Hong in South Lanarkshire

Great food, reasonably priced food and friendly staff. Will be back. Although there appears to be a language communication barrier at times the staff are really professional and very helpful.

Extensive selection, so something for everyone. Never struggled to park nearby but they do quick deliveries. Favourite take away near home 🙂

We are fairly new to the area so are still discovering new things. We live in Muirkirk, so we thought we would have a little drive out to Strathaven see what food was on offer. Stumbled across this little takeaway, glad we did it was delicious. Lovely fresh ingredients and so tasty. Will definitely be back

Haven’t had a meal from ye hong for a while and il not have one again ordered two sweet and sour chicken all vegetables hardly any chicken and poor sauce plus prices have jumped up

I am so disappointed. What has happened to this Chinese? Ordered Crispy chilli chicken and instead got some sort of pineapple chunky chicken like never before. Never have I had to put salt on my Chinese food. Chicken curry was very bland and also very tasteless. I am gutted! A waste of 15 pounds. Didn’t even get prawn crackers. For the price it’s a mega waste of money!!!!

Great takeaway. Probably the best Chinese I’ve ever had, however the standard of prawn crackers is very poor as they are very thin. Prawn crackers are a huge part of my meal when I eat from yee hong with my partner. If this was to be addressed my experience at yee hong would be fantastic.

As an Asian, I don't expect Chinese food in this wee town will be amazing. BUT Yeehong have surprised and impressed me. If you don't know what to order, let me tell you that 29,30,34 (grab the menu please), chow mien, fried rice, and curry are must-eat. I am sure you will feel like in heaven after the meals from Yeehong.

Read the review re the moaner ! Wanted small portion, and unhappy not on offer, what a tight ass ! Probibly counts the number of rice units in each dish and if a bill comes to 9.99 waits for the penny change ! These folk make me sick, get a life or a new partner as obv things not "perfect" for you. But to be fair the moaning gave us all here a great laugh. The food is EXCELLENT, the service brilliant, and whilst Yungs in Hamilton is ALMOST as good, nothing beats this place. Away to order again, always first class food with a smile.

This is possibly the better of the 3 Chinese takeaway restaurants in Strathaven, having had mediocre food from the other 2, when we fancy this type of cuisine in Strathaven, this is where we go - until now.Went in tonight and noted they had changed their menu, and included smaller portion offers for various dishes. I advised the girl at the desk that my daughter wanted a chicken and fried rice dish, but couldn’t finish the normal portion, and requested the smaller portion. This wasn’t on the menu, but she asked a younger chap if this was available.....no was the reply. My response was to ask why, since it was a more simple dish than others on offer on this portion size. We don’t do it was the response accompanied by a rather dismissive smirk.....This was quite unexpected since most competent food businesses are able to adapt and give the customer what they want - within reason obviously. I don’t think this was an unreasonable request.Will I be back? Probably not, there are much better restaurants in Hamilton particularly Yung at the top of low waters road, who offer smaller portions with no quibble. It’s just an extra 10 minutes in the car.The Manzil Indian takeaway, which is excellent, had our £30 this weekend! Your loss Yee Hong!

The problem is that so many restaurants these days, either sitting in or take away, are just too variable. I can think of at least a dozen that I have reviewed favourably over the years only to regret it when I returned. Sometimes this is a few months later but in one case it was only three weeks after our first meal.

Used on Saturday night after checking reviews . Couldn't be more dissappointed ! Very definitely the worst Chinese we have had ! Shredded Crispy Chilli Beef was soggy and tasteless. Beef and Black Bean was also tasteless , whilst the portions were generous they contained huge amounts of water. More costly ingredients such as the meat were supplemented by far too many vegetables . Given one star as the guy serving was happy and polite. Our search for a decent Chinese continues .....

Was visiting family and decided on coming here. Portions were amazing. Satay quite nippy but very tasty. Plenty of chicken in both the sweet and sour and chow mein. I liked the addition of mushrooms in the satay and chow mein (don't do that at my favourite Chinese at home)!Prawn crackers were perfect and chips were good. Not been here for years and would be tempted to order again the next time we are up.

Chicken satay was pink inside, right through to the middle. Called as my sister is pregnant and no one wants undercooked chicken! Said it was the marinade! My mum is a trained chef; marinade doesn’t go through to the middle of the meat! The meat was undercooked! Became very rude and had an awful attitude! Crispy beef was an inch think and not crispy at all! Awful service, poor food and rude man! First and last order! Won’t order again!

Myself and my girlfriend have been going to the Yee Hong in Strathaven for the past few years and since moving several towns away I still find myself travelling back here every other weekend to order food as the quality and service does not compare elsewhere in my opinion. Louis always ensures the food is fresh and on time for pick up and he ensures fantastic customer service. I can highly recommend this take away to anyone wanting fantastic food and great service. I recommend the curry sauce that is made fresh every week to the secret family recipe and they do the best salt and chilli chicken dish around!

I have used this take away regularly for 30+ years and for not the first time I received sub standard food via delivery this week. Although I have never made a complaint I felt the food was especially poor on this occasion. When I called to convey my dissatisfaction I was not only completely dismissed but in not so many words called a liar. It took a second call from my son for our concerns to be taken seriously and an agreement to replace one of the dishes was reached. However by the time my son was off the phone I had served the chicken to the dogs not realising the arrangement to return the dish (not sure why as Id hope they wouldn't have served it back out to another customer) On delivery of the replacement dish I was charged for this due to the missing meal. Pretty poor show Id say for a regular customer. All in all it was not so much the fact we received sub standard food, I understand this can happen on occasions, it was the disgusting attitude and manner in which our complaint was dealt by the establishment. Safe to say I will never be using this particular take away again, I would much rather give my money and custom to those who value their customers. In addition, and as a side but still a very important point. My dogs, who were served up the first dish which we were not happy with, well they were both extremely ill that evening and next day. Safe to say I am VERY glad we did not eat the dish even though we were told very bluntly and on no uncertain terms there was nothing wrong with the food! I will, of course, be sending a report to the local Food Standards team.

Possibly the best satay in world, and whatever the secret ingredient is in the curry sauce it makes anywhere else just not good enough.

Portions not great for the price they charge . More veg than meat to be honest . Taste a bit bland aswell . Could do with more special offer deals like other take aways in the town

I always buy Chinese food from Yee Hong as the food is always delicious and the service excellent. So far, in 12 years, I've never had a bad meal. Great take away - I highly recommend it.

Have been a fan since a child but now only visit the area to see family. Our meal we had on Thursday evening was fantastic so fresh and tasty . The mixed vegetable fried rice was the best I've tasted anywhere.

This is my favourite takeaway, I love the chicken satay in particular but any other dish I have had has been equally delicious. A Saturday night staple in our household 👍🏼

This used to be a excellent Chinese in town.But recent meals haven't been as good! Not recommend any more.

We use this chinese 5 days a week for take aways. Service is excellent. Food is always hot and good and delivered quickly. On the rare occasion there has been an issue. Dealt with straight away. Great take away.

Stopped here as working across road and recommend for a great Chinese. Had chow mein and curry and tasted great. Cheap too!

Habiendo pasado ya a un chino en mi ciudad por más de 20 años decidí probar un cambio! No me puedo quejar de nada y es una buena cosa es casi 8 kilómetros de mi casa o estaría comiendo allí cada noche! Pero vale la pena el viaje, me pase otros cinco China tome siempre ir aquí.

My family and I travel a fair few miles to this takeaway, food is cooked to perfection every time...well worth a visit!!

Ordered a takeaway for a party of 20. Costed over £110. Every meal was cooked to perfection and exactly as we wanted! Very impressed with price, quality and service!

Eat here every week sometimes twice a week, meals always delicious, staff friendly and happy to help and change or add to meal as your preference.

Always the best curry in town and I have tried them all. Knowledgable friendly service is included with the reasonably priced variety wide menu.

Have been going here for years and wouldn't go elsewhere fantastic food and service. Have tried other take away places but they don't quite match up to YEE Hong which has also been a family business for a long time

We love the food here and will travel 7 miles to get it as no longer live in strathaven. Portion sizes are big, food is brilliant, shop is always clean and have never been disappointed. If your unsure of anything just ask the staff as they will help you.

We arrived late to our local digs and needed food! Driving into town we saw this place open and as our b&b had plates and a microwave we ordered a takeaway. We didn't think it was cheap compared to what we usually pay but then we found out that the portions were huge.Everything was very nice and we didn't wake up in the night gasping for a drink!

Best chinese in Strathaven by far. We have tried others but value for money Yee Hong wins hands down.

Would always go here for a takeaway - food is so good and staff so nice and its so busy that you can wait for an hour for food so that in itself speaks volumes

Staff were very friendly and knew a lot of the people coming in to pick up. They do deliver and you get free prawn crackers if you spend over £15. Food was pretty good and what you would expect for cheap Chinese. Not a bad choice if you come home from a day out and the fridge is empty.

They always customise the food if required - I love the above meal, but can't take it too hot, so they always take a few chillies out for me. Their other meals are always fantastic too - Craig had BBQ beef with noodles & that tasted fab too. Definitely recommend them for Chinese food in Strathaven.

Our delivery experience is Deliveries come hot and we love them. Friendly staff. on the telephone. One meal with rice is ample for service two people.

A bulk standard chinese takeaway nothing fancy but it does what is says on the label half decent chinese food at a reasonable price and fairly quick service.
