This place has the best pint of real ale in Hull in my opinion. The theakstons is well kept and tastes delicious.

Went last night and was served water. Drinks was terrible. If your going to water drinks down don't make it that obvious. With it been late they assumed we wouldn't notice but was sober. Very disappointed

Awesome selection of craft beers here at good prices and a nice chilled environment for an afternoon drink while I had a day off. Didn't try any food today but the burger menu looked to be reasonable.

This used to be a nice cosy place to visit. On this occasion there were at least 5 people vaping inside and the air was full of smoke

A historical place and good real ales

The Ye Olde White hart is the most historic and famous pub in Hull (grade ll listed). Dating back to before the English Civil War the pub is regarded as the place where the English Civil War began. It was in an upstairs Room known as the plotting chamber where the leaders of the city decided to lock the gates to keep out King Charles l, this is regarded as the beginning of the English Civil War. The pub itself has a fantastic interior, with some very nice stained glass windows. There is a nice outside covered drinking area in the courtyard. There is an excellent selection of beers and largers and some very nice cask conditioned hand pulled real ales. It is a fantastic cosy pub. Highly recommended.

Didn't feel at all welcome here. Barman didn't seem bothered about anything. Only had a coffee which seemed ages to make with no explanation or apology don't think he even looked at me. Very uncomfortable feeling and it wasn't the ghosts that did it

Went with a friend on a pub crawl and stayed here for 3 drinks, lovely staff, atmosphere, great old pub.

I asked the manager if I could see the 'plotting room'. She refused the request, and said it was closed on the week-end. She was unwilling to make an exception, despite me explaining that I had brought my son all the way from Newbury on a 5 hour journey just to see it. The closure of the room on week-ends is not made clear on the website and I don't understand why 10 years ago when I visited on a Saturday with my sister, we were allowed into the plotting room. Felt unwelcome, disappointed and let down.

A blast from the past for every age .. character, great beer , and great friendly staff and locals, hull to a tee !! Go enjoy !!! Its miles better than york , chester , bath. And without the nonsense prices .... for now !!!! 😀

The pub is as nearly old as Hull itself and is really cozy... The bar is small and it can get quite tight, but in the summer you can drink down the side. It's out the way and charming.

A wonderful pub with great service. The owner of the pub even gave us access to the plotting room and made time to chat with us. His bartender gave us an informative tour - we are very appreciative to have met both of them. A real English pub - bravo and thank you.

Only reason I haven't given the food a 5 is because it could have done yo have been hotter than it was when served

My disappointment with Ye Old is the closure of the Alley bearing in mine its on the Fish Trail. It seems a small minded attitude.

What an absolute gem. It says 'warm welcome' on the way in.... they're true to their word. Great beer, comforting beef baguette and an incredible building... full of history. So glad I popped in.

This place is the same as 1990 when I was a youngster around Hull. Decor the same, they even still have old peculiar on draught. Always worth a visit.

Should be a really good historic place to visit. Ruined by badly placed cctv signs, junk in the upstairs (gunpowder plot) meeting room, peeling stain on wall panelling, and general grubiness.

Staff were seriously brilliant, so helpful and the drinks were so reasonably priced, thank you all for being so welcoming!

We always pop in here when in the old town, always a great range of ales and being able to drink in fantastic nostalgic surroundings and with a small outside area that catches the sun a great place to visit.
