This used to be a nice cosy place to visit. On this occasion there were at least 5 people vaping inside and the air was full of smoke

The Ye Olde White hart is the most historic and famous pub in Hull (grade ll listed). Dating back to before the English Civil War the pub is regarded as the place where the English Civil War began. It was in an upstairs Room known as the plotting chamber where the leaders of the city decided to lock the gates to keep out King Charles l, this is regarded as the beginning of the English Civil War. The pub itself has a fantastic interior, with some very nice stained glass windows. There is a nice outside covered drinking area in the courtyard. There is an excellent selection of beers and largers and some very nice cask conditioned hand pulled real ales. It is a fantastic cosy pub. Highly recommended.

Ye Olde White Heart, a charming Theakston's pub, offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes it a standout choice. The good staff are attentive and friendly, ensuring every visit is a pleasant experience. The pub also features a decent outdoor area, perfect for enjoying a drink in the fresh air. I do love an Old Peculier here; whether you're seeking a cozy spot indoors or a relaxing outdoor setting, Ye Olde White Heart is an excellent place to unwind and enjoy good company.

I asked the manager if I could see the 'plotting room'. She refused the request, and said it was closed on the week-end. She was unwilling to make an exception, despite me explaining that I had brought my son all the way from Newbury on a 5 hour journey just to see it. The closure of the room on week-ends is not made clear on the website and I don't understand why 10 years ago when I visited on a Saturday with my sister, we were allowed into the plotting room. Felt unwelcome, disappointed and let down.

We ordered a cocktail each she got a lemon cheesecake I got a zombie her cocktail tasted ok mine not so much. We drank up went to pay and the price was £35 yup £35 quid for 2 cocktails in hull city centre they have a notice on there zombie cocktail asking people not to take the mugs because they are expensive. Under new owners.. Italian food..Food highly priced.. had the sea bass for£21 pound. Small portion of fish(the tail end and so small and thin) didn't even resemble bass . Spoonful of mixed salad. And a ball of mozzarella on my plate. 3items in total. Side portion of chips for£4. Dearest fish and chips ever and was still hungry.. If you get pasta dish you will get plenty.
