Some of the best food I have had in a while, the service was very nice and welcoming which made me want to stay. Portions are very big!

Booked for a large party admittedly around 5 hours before. The service was very slow and it took around 1 hour to order. Then once the order was taken it took over an hour and a half to get semi decent food. Overall quite a disappointment and I wouldn’t recommend personally.

We went here for my sons birthday as me and my partner have been to greece lots of times and enjoy greek food..I must say im surprised at the good reviews because the food we has was bland and dry ,we aĺl had different meals and all of us said the same also you shouldnt have to season food at all ..would not come here again ,we know a better greek restaurant that tastes authentic ..disappointed and having to pay a sub charge isnt on ..

Super nice food and very friendly service not the cheapest around but definitely worth the extra few pounds :) Could not find gyros on the menu tho sadly as that's my favourite

Went here for my birthday and the food and service was lovely! We shared starters between the 3 of us that were all delicious, especially the aubergine dish. We could barely eat our mains when they arrived. Potions are very good! I don't eat meat so swapped the chicken souvlaki for halloumi and it was lovely, practically a full black of halloumi! Absolutely beautiful and authentic greek food. Not only is the atmosphere here so warm and inviting, it’s such a friendly and relaxing place that eating here was a joy!! The value for money was fabulous and the portions are so generous. Would recommend anyone to try this place you will not be disappointed 10/10

Food was okay, even though the mixed souvlaki didn’t have any salad garnish and was dry, no sauce or dip came with it. The service was unfriendly and slow, just really disappointing. In the end we were forced to pay a high service charge. Atmosphere of the restaurant felt rushed even though it wasn’t busy and loads of staff was around that seemed to not care at all. It was cold inside since all the doors to the outside were open. They didn’t have the Meze, which reading from other reviews seems to always be the case. Not coming back.

So a group of five of us went in for a meal and basically had a really nice night, food was excellant service was better. It can be a little noisy when busy but busy is a sign that its a well run and regarded business. DO BOOK a table on a friday and Saturday as they are busy and you could be turned away as one couple was. But very much worth trying.

Been many times and always great food and service, this time got the bill and 18.65 added on as service charge . Over the 10 yrs we have Been coming here old and new building I've seen the prices of food go up and up . I no the food is quality but I think especially in hull service charge should be optional and not added to the bill . Its definitely made me think twice of coming back now as a meal for 4 was £215 with 2 round of drinks I think its definitely getting to the point were it's to expensive.

Overpriced, tough meat… did I mention overpriced. 2 small skewers of meat for nearly £15 is not acceptable.

We ordered the meat platter with extra fries but we didn’t need to as there was more than enough for two. All the meat was cooked to perfection and it arrived still hot and on time xx

Sublime. I am already deciding what my next order from here will be. This was not just dinner, it was a journey back in time to a small, family run, beachside taverna in Skiathos. Everything was perfect. Efharistw poly.

Amazing, tasted just like if we were to go there and eat. Packing is great, the meatball dish did spill everywhere but think that will be because of the bike ride here so not the restaurants fault. Thank you from a house full of full happy stomachs ⭐

One of the nicest most authentic greek places I've been to. I went to Greece in 2020 and 2010 and have been wishing I could have propper hreek cuisine since. I've definately found the place. If you visit you have to order the haulumi and saganaki

Dangerous place Staff was very aggressive, used bad words, try attack me , jus because I try to take an takeaway order but I did know the plate . Be very careful about this aggressive place.

Really nice food, I'd recommend the Saganaki Cheese starter and the garlic mushroom starter.

Although it was a Wednesday evening there was a very nice atmosphere due to there being a large party in as well as several smaller tables. Food as always was excellent and the service was top notch considering the large party. Well done Aegean Taverna!

Really excellent restaurant just wish had discovered this place earlier. Food is very well seasoned and fish is fresh. I also ordered a Greek salad under the expectation that the fish wouldn't come with any salad but we didn't really need this. The only negative thing was the stairs and toilets were a bit grubby.

Lovely restaurant and excellent food!

Never a let down at this restaurant. Tried a few different meals on their menu and all have been so tasty and filling. We came last month a group of 15 and all the food arrived at the same time,service was outstanding.

Excelent food, beautiful place.

We went all in on the tasting platter between the two of us and we weren’t disappointed. Far from it, I have never seen as much food come out! Certainly an experience and a half, would recommend for anyone visiting Hull.

Great food, good prices, very pleasant service

We went here to celebrate a birthday, the dips were beautiful and the best tsatsiki (not sure of spelling) I've ever had, unfortunately the lack of a Vegetarian section for the mains was off putting, I had to have 2 starters as my main, which wasn't ideal, the spanakopita labeled as spinach parcels were very small and very greasy, I also had some patty type things, those were awful, so my time spent at the restaurant wasn't a pleasant one, totally lacking in atmosphere also and music a little too loud for a Sunday afternoon.

3 years ago me and my family decided to try this restaurant, it was absolutely amazing authentic Greek food. Tonight we decided to go back as we came to Hull, we couldn’t be more disappointed food was bland no seasoning. The rest of the staff was very polite and concerned why we didn’t eat and we explained the above they decided to speak to the chef, so then the chef (unsure if is the owner) decided to come over to the main area of the restaurant and started to ask customers in front of me and my family if they meal had no flavour being rude towards us. Politely I got up and asked if I could pay my bill and go, explaining we was very disappointed and we just wanted to go, he decided to get quite aggressive and frustrated saying is food is never bland. To say we wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to ANYONE we had a 2 year old in the table and it wasn’t a pleasant experience for a Friday night family meal. This chef should be more respectful and considerate towards is customers when handling opinions.

Amazing food, great service and good value too. The meat platter is absolutely huge so we opted for individual meals which were still quite bit.

Local in Hull and a student at Hull university. Restaurant was empty when we walked in. There was a menu provided however there were very limited vegetarian options. We sat inside and the table was sticky and the chairs difficult to move. The food was adequate but expensive and flavour didn't blend well. Compared to other Greek restaurants in Hull and other cities this was subpar. I ordered one of the special cocktails which was bitter and strong also not what I asked for. The manager was talking loudly over the phone the whole time and made us wait to order. He then spilled our drink onto us and didn't even remove the cost of the drink in the bill. Overall terrible experience

The food portions are great for the price and the lamb was good! The waiter who attended to me was polite (always a good sign). The slightly down side for me was the stuffed vine leaves could have more minced beef in it.

Went to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary with family and friends. Everyone and everything was perfect. Definitely will be returning.

Most disappointing meal I’ve ever had. Lamb was dry served on a cold bed of rice, side salad was 1 leaf and half of tomato, said it was served with pitta bread but apparently this is only when you choose the chips?? Service was slow and can’t say the staff were friendly or accommodating. Don’t usually complain but it was a waste of money.

We were the only ones in but it was early .... it was also chilly could do with some heating on

In the past , we have always had great food and service at the Aegean, going back to the Anlaby Road Days. We booked a table for yesterday for a Mother’s Day celebration. Three generations of the family to attend and a 70 pound deposit paid. Unfortunately, there was an Illness in the party and we decided not to attend so we telephoned the restaurant and asked if we could cancel our table and use the deposit towards a takeaway so that the ladies wouldn’t miss out on the celebration. The restaurant flatly refused - the last time we ever visit what has turned out to be a greedy mob. They had our money and therefore were in control.

Booked for my daughter's 16th, we were a table of 10 and the food and service was great, every order was correct. Been here a few times now and the food is always perfect. Loved the food, I had the sheftalia and tasted just the same as being back in Cyprus. My wife had the stifardo and won't stop raving about it. The fetta on the Greek salad was so creamy that it was superb . We will definitely be back. Service was excellent and very reasonably priced. Definitely book for a Saturday night. Highly recommended.

Oh my word I'm speechless! I've been here tonight with my hubby and our friends, I've had the best mousakka I've ever had in all my years, even though I've been to Greece and Cyprus many times, nothing has ever compared to what I've tasted tonight . Deserts also to die for, and wine was devine. Definitely would highly recommend this restaurant without a doubt. Definitely recommend and we'll certainly be coming back.

Lovely Greek food & atmosphere. So good we went back the next evening!

Went as a party of 10 for a birthday meal on a week night. Lovely food, but no vegetarian options and there were no portions of vegetables available! We weren’t offered another drink at all and no one came to check if everything was ok. We were all going to get a pudding, but again no one came round after taking our plates to see if we would like one. In the end we had to ask if we could have more drinks and some puddings. It wasn’t busy at all, so they weren’t rushed off their feet. Just a bit more service would have been nice.

My partner and I have just been to The Aegean for the first time. Let me just say, the food was unbelievably good. The freshness, taste, variety. All of it was unreal. The lamb chops and pork loin stole the show, although all of it was great. We shared the meat platter and it was amazing. The service was great and personal. It was without a doubt the best restaurant I've been to in Hull.

Fantastic service and amazing food! One of the best Greek restaurants and if you order the Meze menu you wont be able to finish it 😃 is the best value for money menu I ever tried I didn't manage to finish half of it so I took it with me! That's the first out of 4 rounds of plates that they come!

Fabulous meal had with friends. Good choice on the menu. Food is so tasty. Meat very tender. Staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable about food and drinks. Would highly recommend and looking forward to my next visit.

Tried here one day passing through the town and was very surprised, the food was very tasty and the portion is definitely worth the money. Some places these days want to try and charge you for coleslaw and salad as an extra here everything you see cost me around £12! The food was so nice I had to come back the next day and the staff are both friendly, the woman at the front plus the chef even gave me a thumbs up from the back.

Went there in a group of 6 with relatives, lovely open spacious restaurant. The waiter was helpful as our party was a real mix of dietary requirements. Some had 4 starters to share between 3 as a main meal, others just had mains. Some had starters mains and desserts. They were pretty flexible. The food was outstanding and prompt, waiters attentive. The bill came to £25 each including tip, 1.5 litres of house wine and 3 beers. Highly recommended.

Booked table for my husband and myself for 7,30 on a Saturday evening on arrival ordered bottles of wine while we studied the menu the restaurant was not too busy but there was a large party at one table we decided to both have the meze only to be told we couldn't have this as they were too busy and if we wanted the meze we should preorder so tried to order various options but nothing was available so paid for the wine and left

Food 10/10 service 2/10. We called at very short notice and were surprised to get a table. On arrival we sat for 10 mins or so and were visited by a waiter who asked if we wanted drinks. We told him we were also ready to order. He informed us his colleague was dealing with food orders. We then sat another 10 mins whilst she arrived. I finished my drink and was trying to catch the waiters attention for another but they were rushing about taking food orders. The barman was stood shining his glasses as no one was getting drinks. We finally shouted to the drinks waiter and he appeared. Seemed to be not enough staff which meant you were left hanging, it seems to be either food getting served or drinks, never a mixture at same time. Surely no drinks orders taken means a loss of income. But food wise, absolutely gorgeous.

A faultless dining experience. Amazing food. It’s always difficult to choose a restaurant when you don’t know the area. However this was probably one of the best meals that we have had. Spotlessly clean throughout and staff very helpful. Really good atmosphere with obviously a very popular dining location for locals. Would very very highly recommend.
