Oh this was the worst food I have had ordered Cantonese chicken and could not eat it uuug it tasted disgusting will never order again from them

Price of food increased substantially. Food standard dropped.

Horrible all went in the bin except for the can of pop.

Even before I got the meal I had a rude response when I phoned up to ask about my food order. As I had a message to say it was on its way. Then half hour later saying it was to be delayed another half hour. So I phoned them. A female answered and was quite rude. Repeating what I said in a derogatory manner and then when I asked her to check up on it she said ' I would have if you had of giving me your details' in a very short sarcastic manner. No miss you didn't! You queried my message I got off you and only asked for my details when I mentioned them. The food came late as I was expecting. And then it was cold. So not that impressed and the service will surely put me off again in future. As it really leaves a bad taste in the mouth when they have a mouthy person on the end of the phone. My tip. Find another restaurant.

Our first time ordering from here. What an amazing Chinese, food was outstanding, everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Not had a meal like that in quite some time. Delivery was exactly on time too. 5 stars all the way.

Worst Chinese takeaway we have ever had. Stale food just reheated, totally inedible, went straight in the bin. Called the takeaway restaurant straight away, not interested at all, no solution offered. Avoid at all costs.

The packaging of the seaweed, including the actual seaweed, had a terrible chemical smell & taste to it. Was just binned. Also put us off the rest of the meal so didn’t fully enjoy it all!

Food was ok, although I wasn’t particularly overwhelmed and impressed with quality or portion size for the price paid, not even a complimentary bag of prawn crackers chucked in like other places. Delivery driver was polite and courteous. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ a generous good awarded.

This takeaway is 100% worst out there .the portions are a disgusting size .if I could have gave it -10 I would off ...stay clear it's awful

the fried rice was missing something (maybe soy sauce) but the spring rolls and other thing I ordered was delicious!

Ordered sweet and sour prawn balls with fried rice and prawn toast. The rice was ok but the prawn balls and toast had been left in the deep fat fryer too long. Overcooked and dry. The sauce wasn’t great either. Comparatively expensive too. Very disappointing.

Dissatisfied with my order and JustinEat have let me down. I ordered szechaun house special on Thursday 28th June as a treat for my wife. We love this dish and have had it many times before, but not from here. The dish was was disgusting, tasteless and swimming in oil ! The dish is sitting on the kitchen bench as I was tempted to return it and we went hungry. I complained to Just Eat and expected to receive a refund, but they have let us down. The minimum I expected was a reply. 😑

Been going here for years, somethings gone terribly wrong. Our usual orders taste and look completely different, hardly as much meat at you usually get. Curry sauce is bland, rice was hard and prawn toast burnt. Usually never bother writing a review but this place must be under new ownership or new staff. Avoid!!

Ordered food from Yangtze River before and never been disappointed, talking with a pal about the old days (80’s) fancied something different so ordered our staple after pub takeaway Large chop Suey roll with curry, chips and fried rice, wow! Did nor disappoint, lovely crunchy chop Suey roll packed full of juicy bean sprouts and lovelyness, fab chips and beautifully cooked rice smothered in that lovely Chinese curry sauce just fabulous, and didn’t have to pay the standard 5p for a fork either 👍

This was inedible. Chips and rice very stale. House chow mein very greasy and the meat rock hard. 1 shrivelled prawn. BBQ rips had no meat on. I may as well as chucked my £40 in the bin.

Don’t order as often now as previously we’ve paid quite a-lot, for not a-lot in return but I must say, portion size this time round was good, thank you X

delivery was between 18:35 and 18:55 food came 18:55 spot on .. friendly delivery driver food nice and hot and delicious

The rice was old and dry, the rest of the food was average. Not worth the price

Deep fried duck in plum sauce. Chunky pieces of duck were about 5cm long and looked good but they were bland and didn't taste like duck and I couldn't work out if they were purely meat or had small bones inside. Sauce was poorly flavoured... again it was bland. I threw half of it in the bin. Disappointing.

Very poor. Won’t be ordering again. Chips were reheated and hard. Small portions. A sauce I couldn’t even recognise. Sorry, won’t be back.

The food was dreadful. Spent £36.20 and hardly anyone could eat it. This was the worst chinese takeaway i have ever had. Absolutely appalling. You have been warned park view has many other chinese takeaway options. Have uploaded images of tge meal. Undercooked and over cooked and unedible as well as sauce that looks like engine oil.

Little mix up with delivery but easily sorted out (they were very busy on xmas eve) and when the food came it was amazing very tasty and will 100% use again thank you very much 👍🏼

I have been ordering from Yangtze River for years. Every time I’ve had a fantastic experience, food is hot, delicious and on time. Also this place does the best salt and chilli chips in North Tyneside 👌

Enjoyed the noodles, rice was dry and egg foo yung was bland and prawns overcooked and tough.

£55 ... Disappointed to say the least ..never using this Takeaway again one star as you cant leave it as no stars

Ordered food at 6:50pm and it didn’t arrive until 8:45pm. Food was nice but Luke warm because it had obviously sat in a car for a while. We only live 10 min drive away.

Don’t order if you’re starving. Took over 1hour 30mins from ordering. Food ok though

Honestly my House special foo yung was not nice . It was a horrible grey colour and was tasteless .. It had huge chunks of meat in it ,which was very unappetising. I couldn't eat it ...

Forgot chips but rang takeaway was sorted straight away.

Cold, dry and fatty, totally unsatisfying. Won't go here again!!

Very dry chicken in both dishes, no sauce at all in chicken and king prawn fried rice dish with very little chicken and even less with 2 prawns, portion size was the only positive I can give it.

£42 and no prawn crackers, noodles overcooked, no vegetables in any dishes and very little chicken with only 2 prawns 👎

Honestly never seen a takeaway diminish so badly over time..this was hands down the best Chinese in whitley bay! It had absolutely no competition. I don't know what's happened. Cost of living maybe ? But the price no longer matches the quality. I usually don't mind paying a bit extra as I believe you get what you pay for. But ..... you don't anymore? 7 tiny strips of chicken on a £9.90 chow mein ? It's still ok but you don't get the same quality for your money.

Chips where old , prawn crackers where old and bendy and soft , noodles were soggy absolute waste of money

Awful just don’t bother!! Food was shocking. Rice dried up and noodles definitely not fresh. My main wasn’t what it was supposed to be, very sweet and had no spice. Both mains sauces were like water and tasted strange Won’t be ordering again a waste of £40!!!

Had takeaway from here before and it has been ok. Not first choice but ok if nothing else is open. This time was pretty dreadful and over priced. A quarter 'Peking' duck was clearly taken from the smallest duck on the planet - tiny serving of kinda roast / fried / cooked duck. Not very Peking. Very tired cucumber and spring onions - guess they were sliced a few days ago. Dried and limp. A chicken chow mein that had little chicken in it thank goodness as the few bits amongst the noodles were like rubber. Absolute sad waste of money and no consolation as it wasn't even cheap. Went in the bin.

Salt and chilli chips and the Singapore chowmein are the best I’ve had.

Absolutely tasteless and late, very expensive for what it is. None of the dishes had any distinct taste. Chilli dish was bland.

Solid place for a takeaway when you can't be bothered to cook. Food arrives hot and taste is good. My usual takeaway place.

When speaking to the lady on the phone she was rather rude and showed no customer service skills whatsoever. Our boxes were damaged of which sauce leaked out and onto everything else - have had to take images due to this being a second occurrence of the same issues. Will not be using this place again - food damage one is not majorly an issue it’s the rudeness and lack of customer service from the female on the phone which has thoroughly put our family off. £50 a week lost as we were regulars.

Only Chinese restaurant I go to, everything is exceptional.

Disappointed szechaun was watery and not spicy at all had about 4 bits of chicken in it very bland

the main dish was lovely! the large ‘spring rolls’ however was one absolutely massive spring roll. the biggest one i’ve ever seen! i was expecting maybe 2 or 3! it was humongous. this resulted in me not being able to eat this. i am aware i made an order later on but this should not of affected my spring roll experience!

Never had any issues before but this evening I ordered the duck which isn’t cheap and it was very disappointing. I had more hard skin than any meat which a-lot wasn’t edible. Waste of £15 on that alone. Very disappointed this time around :(

The 1/4 duck was all skin and the amount recieved was enough for 3 pancakes? It was disgusting and when I called the restaurant I was told that’s how it comes 😳😳 shocking service and food..the chips and gravy was cold and the gravy was like chocolate sauce…I won’t ever go back there terrible

Loved the food! Our usual Chinese take-away was closed so we decided to try somewhere new and don’t regret it! Such great tasty food the whole table was silent during the meal. 10/10 would recommend and will be somewhere we go to in the future too!

Our first meal from here and it won't be our last. Hot, freshly cooked delicious food. Best spicy chips ever, soup was thick and tasty, plenty of meat in the main dishes. Pleasant delivery driver.

Ordered crispy beef...literally no beef whatsoever and full of bones...tasted like chopped up deep fried chicken wings!!!

Food left on doorstep and the person delivering was at the car by the time I opened the door - about one minute. They also left the garden gate open and it was closed when they arrived. Food was not hot either - very disappointing.

Part of my order was two "chicken" chow mein , there was four bits of chicken in the dishes, appalling quality. We had ordered salt and pepper chips, normally lovely, not tonight, inedible due to their extreme heat, be a long time before I return

Yangzi have capitalised on their customer favorites but have increased the price to ~190% without the portion size or quality being increased also.

Actually got my food 45minutes after the original collection time. Running incredibly behind schedule and when waiting in the shop for it there was no heating on. It was colder in the shop than it was outside. Telephone orders seemed to take priory over me physically standing in the shop getting hypothermia. A half bothered apology was given when I physically got my food. All they are bothered about is money.

Food was nice, but service and delivery was appalling. When take away contacted simply told ‘we are busy’ No apology.

2 meals ok the other very bland..

Terrible service. We've been waiting over 2 hours for our order and it still hasn't turned up. Rang twice to be told both times it was on the way. Will never use again.
