The dry shredded beef which I order was very crispy and delicious. Size of the portion was big enough that I really feel full :) some people might find slightly too big but you can take it home the leftovers. Waitress was very helpful and polite. Good food for a reasonable price.

Probably the best Chinese restaurant for miles around, at least in this price range, I've had slightly better but for a lot more money. I won't name drop but if you're a local you know the restaurants about. Properly fresh cooked food, yes I'm sure your premade order for £12 all you can eat is fine, when you order and it comes out in 10 minutes that's not fresh I'm afraid and you can taste the difference. The ribs on the special menu is to die for, great egg fried rice, a lot of great starters, love me some prawn tempura (I'm one of these weird people who prefers starters! good dim sum. I feel like I've tried a fair range of their menu and everything has been above average. If I'm going to be critical their eat in experience is a fair bit better than getting a takeaway from them. The takeaway isn't quite as nice. Expect to pay around £50 for 2 for food and drinks. The Michel Servin wine by the glass is really nice but haven't tried the others.

Been here a couple of times with my boyfriend and the food has always been great. We do the buffet and the food is always hot and tasty. Lovely and welcoming service, would recommend to all my friends!

We chose this place as supposedly the no 1 Chinese restaurant in Sutton. Prawn crackers stale and served coke instead of Diet Coke. Certain of this as hate the taste of coke so queried. It would have been very easy for waitress to say she would check and then rectify but she insisted it was Diet Coke. A few minutes later I then saw her pour rest of the can - normal coke - into another glass and top up with a 2nd can for a customer who ordered a large coke. Meal went even further downhill after starters. Salt and pepper chicken starter was straight from frozen foods cash & carry and definitely not fresh or home made which was disappointing as this is a dish we know and make ourselves. Sate sauce tepid and congealed. Ordered Singapore fried rice but was presented with Singapore noodles. Advised waitress incorrect and was told they would change but would have to wait. No apology. When arrived, the shrimps still had poo tracts so inedible. Szechuan chicken dish full of raw onion and chicken had an unpleasant, slimy texture. Chicken in chicken balls of similar texture and batter thick and chewy. House special of chilli chicken, full of dried chillis which couldn’t be eaten as not presoaked so were bark like and also inedible. All in all, depressing dining experience and waste of money. 10% service charge automatically added to bill and no check backs at any stage to find out if everything ok or query why so much left. Sadly, we will not be repeat customers and cannot recommend.

Maybe it was the COVID, with exhausted, overwhelmed staff...... but believe me: laughably, lamentably bad in every, conceivable way. From reception, to service, to environment, to oh yes, food. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Never, ever, again.

So ordered sat night 15 aug arrived and straight away phoned to say 2 bags prawn crackers inedible the woman agreed wiv me and blamed on chef saying I told him to change brands quite amazed then went to try ribs super dry tasted old never had to throw duck away but the half we ordered again so dry and old pancakes super slimy £60 and a nice sat eve ruined never again

Decided to eat in as they are now open again post Covid. Went on Saturday night and sat at a nice table near the window. Place has been redecorated and is very comfortable. Food is still excellent and the service was good. Would recommend to those who like a decent meal of Chinese food.

Very nice takeaway, but the ribs and chicken wings were extremely salty. All freshly cooked though and came very quickly.

I am such a fussy person when it comes to food and I am not easily pleased but all I can say about the food I have eaten tonight at Yangtze is that it was fabulous... 10 out of 10 !

Very friendly staff, starters ok but the main meals were fantastic, they recommended a beef dish which was delicious and beef very tender, did not seem very busy in there which really surprised me!

1st time we have visited this chinese and the food was lovely one of the best we have had much better than other in north cheam

Visited Yangtze at North Cheam last night with friends who had used this restaurant before. Was not disappointed. Food and drink very good value and everything was served up hot. Staff very friendly and attentive. Well worth a visit. Give this new restaurant a try you won't be disappointed. Support your local restaurants.

Probably the worst take away I’ve ever had. Had I not been going out I would have returned it. Quality of the ingredients was very poor and given the price of the dishes that’s really. I won’t be back.

Went for a meal with friends and it was empty all night - and freezing! We needed our coats on. Drinks took a long time to arrive which was surprising and overpriced. But food was good and all you can eat is good offer. They need some heating for the winter months!

Yangtze is a fantastic restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is impeccable. The sea bass is divine and the chilli chicken is delicious. They always remember you and make you feel welcome. Yvonne is amazing and a true star. I will be coming back, it’s defiantly worth a try.

We went here for dinner and had the most delicious Chinese food. It was all fresh and cooked to perfection. The service was amazing which made the whole experience so much better. We have already booked my birthday dinner with my family in the new year!! Can’t say enough about the very friendly and helpful service.

Went here for my wife’s birthday treat. Impressive personal service. Excellent food cooked to order and able to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Not busy when we went, but very nice ambience inside. Highly recommended, good value, would like to revisit with friends.

My partner and I went into this restaurant without a booking and was very welcomed, we were treated to some of the best Chinese food we’ve ever experienced from a buffet style restaurant, we can’t wait to come again. 10/10

We have just had a lovely meal in the Yangtze Chinese restaurant in North Cheam. We haven't been there for years as it did tend to get rather run down, and the food became quite disappointing.

As said in title, nice food nice people. They take talking breaks sometimes but still order food on time.

Could not fault the food, all very nice. It wasn't greasy like others. Service was very friendly. This will be our new go to for Chinese. Worth a try

Came here last night and despite it being 10pm we were welcomed with amazing service. We had about 4 different dishes which tasted absolutely amazing, didn’t finish it all but was offered to take it away with us. I really liked the atmosphere, made us feel really relaxed and comfortable. I didn’t know about this place but now I do I will honestly be coming more often for a sit in meal, already told my mum and sister I will take them here. Thank you guys again, and definitely see you soon!!

Had a meal for 2 here last Saturday. We used to come here when it was Dragon Inn and the inside is largely unchanged.

Wish we had found this ages ago. Cannot recommend it enough.Quite e few Chinese restaurants have closed so this was a fabulous surprise

First time using ....we wanted a takeaway...my husband picked up ...portion size was good.. mushroom curry...hardly any mushrooms ...but loads of carrot & peas & 3 long things which were spongey ..have no idea what they were ...went straight in bin.not a lot of sauce Ordered 3 curry sauces...as one of us only has rice & sauce. Weren't in the bag... rang up & they were delivered. 15 minutes later ...so food was now cold.. wont use again...

I was lucky enough to have won a meal for two with a bottle of wine. With Chinese being one of my favourites I thought it was Definitely worth a shot. Even though we were eating for free the service was friendly and the waitress attentive. The wine was good and we even managed to adjust a dish. The food was served piping hot, the portions plentiful and the taste was divine. I am pleased to say this is a lovely restaurant and I shall be bringing my friends and family here too. I won a meal for two in a raffle. The prize was for a set meal, but as I am vegetarian and the friend accompanying me doesn't eat chicken, the restaurant provided vegetarian options. The food was good and plentiful, and the service excellent; friendly and helpful. We had a splendid evening.

Dreadful, got shut down after a 1 star food hygiene rating. Widely known fact that they cook a lot of food for the restaurant and the take out in the flat above, where they live. Swerve!

Visited Yangtze as my mother heard the adverts on Radio Jackie. Yvonne was really friendly and kind. We all really liked the food, good portions and a couple of new dishes for us, such as King Prawn Balls with Salted Duck Yolk, which we loved. We will be back. This place has taken the number one slot of best local Chinese restaurant for us.

Great service, good value and tasty food. Normally I leave a Chinese restaurant bloated and uncomfortable but not here. Plenty of food served on the set menu but because it was all clean, lean and fresh food I left satisfied rather than feeling sickly! Nice place.

I like Chinese food and I rate this restaurant as one the best I have ever eaten in, and I am talking world wide. The service is friendly, helpful and helps make your visit a real pleasure. Amazingly, all at really reasonable prices. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is the second time we’ve had an Excellent delivery meal from this restaurant. Food was 20 mins earlier than the estimated time, delivery driver was very friendly, the food was all hot and fresh, and portion sizes were generous. We ordered 10 different dishes for a group meal and everyone agreed every dish was really tasty and not at all greasy like some Chinese can be. Will definitely continue to order our Chinese from here - thank you!

Took our Grandaughter to Yangtze as a treat to introduce her to Chinese food. Excellent the food was great and the staff really spoiled her. We all had. A great evening. We will be back

I had the King Prawn Green Curry and boiled rice. It was grey & watery, instead of creamy and rich, had rubbery prawns and tofu, and frozen peas. Not sure what this dish was trying to be. The mushrooms were flavourless as well. Bit disappointing. This dish is Thai rather than Chinese, I think they need to take it off the menu as other diners on tripadvisor seem to like the rest of the menu so this must be an anomaly.

I ate here with family for my birthday and the food was very good, the service lovely. The friendly and accommodating manager/hostess surprised us with fruit fritters and ice-cream complete with candles as it was my birthday. Definitely recommend for any occasion.

Passed this restaurant a few times in the last few weeks and decided to give it a try. Firstly the staff were very friendly and helpful and they were responsible for a very pleasant evening. Wine list was small but we found what we wanted. All of the food we ordered was very good quality and tasty and our only complaint was the chicken and sweetcorn soup was a little sweet. We tried the salt and pepper squid, chicken and mushroom, beef cubes in black pepper sauce, bean sprouts and egg fried rice. Although the portions were reasonable in size we managed to eat it all and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We noted that a large takeaway order had held things up for other diners but a wait between starter and main course is what my wife and I like. We would never eat two courses if we were in a hurry. When we go back we had a couple of recommendations that we might try next time.

Decent setting and a very good service, but unfortunately I wasn't that impressed with the food. Out of the whole selection of dishes we ordered, I only really enjoyed the beef in black bean sauce... The rest felt a bit artificial.

We always have a Chinese takeaway on NYE, we were struggling to find a new restaurant and found this on TA, we were not disappointed. The delivery was prompt and within in the timescale advised, the food was hot, non greasy, very well cooked and in my mind the best Chinese food we have ever had.

Had a lovely meal tonight great service really nice authentic Chinese food nice and worm on a cold night. Will return very soon. And good value for money do try if your in north cheam.

In a nutshell: Good fresh food, friendly staff and reasonably priced. The food pictures on their website did not look like the standard Chinese restaurant...and I confirm it has nothing to do with all the other local Chinese restaurants. It was a great pick! Food was excellent, service was faultless. We loved the recommendations made by Yvonne the waitress and we will definitely come back! Very happy to have such a gem around the corner. I wish them all the best!

My partner and I took my elderly mother and a friend to Yangtze, North Cheam yesterday evening for a special occasion. The staff were very friendly and I appreciated the help with choosing. Everything was delicious. To get the best out of this restaurant, I would say come during the week, when perhaps it's quieter as we did, because I think they are a small business, and want to give the best service. If it wasn't for Mum, we would have taken the 93 bus which is just outside, parking was a bit tricky. I enjoyed my grilled vegetarian dumplings, and if Yangtze was to start doing toffee banana, I'm sure they would be great too!

It was our first visit to this newly opened Chinese restaurant. We had mixed starters, Peking Duck, Sweet and Sour Chicken and chicken in Lemon sauce and a beef Thai Green Curry with rice and noodles.

Having read the reviews, I was looking forward to a meal out with my mother and husband. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. The service was extremely slow and the food was mediocre and just warm. I guess this was reflected in the reduction they were offering in October. Not enough to tempt me back again.

We have been to many Chinese restaurants in London and this is genuinely one of the best - authentic, fresh and delicious food. The restaurant has recently changed management and the service is brilliant. We highly recommend Yangtze Restaurant to anyone looking for good Chinese food and we will definitely be back.

Had a really lovely family meal here. The staff are really nice and friendly, they couldn't do enough for us. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. All in all a fantastic find and we will certainly be going back. Highly recommended

First time visit to Yangtze and it was really worthwhile. The service was so good and the food excellent. Yes, prawn toast to die for! All starters superb and mains yummy! Wow - the steamed salmon delicious.

This restaurant is pleasantly decorated, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The food is delicious and well presented. The price is good. Better still, everything is half price in October if you eat in. A very nice place to dine.

What can i say this chinese is excellent if you like good food this is the place the sesame prawn toast was the best i,ve ever had,the crispy duck was superb and the steamed salmon in soy sauce melted in the mouth and with 50% off the food in October it’s a no brainier

I started with the mixed Dim Sum; this was very good. For my main I had rice and lemons chicken. Both we’re good. The servers were friendly and the resturant was nice inside. I would defiantly dine here again.

Visited Yangtze with my children at lunch time. Lovely food, the children enjoyed the soup noodles, I had a nice Singapore fried noodle with prawns for stater. Great Nespresso coffee to finish. Lovely lunch.

Dined here recently and had a takeaway last night and on both occasions was impressed by the quality of the food. It's nice to have somewhere slightly better quality than the other restaurants in North Cheam. Staff are very friendly and attentive. My wife and I will definately return.

This was my wife and I second visit to the recently reopened Yangtze restaurant under new ownership. The owner and her staff are lovely and attentive and only too happy to make recommendations. The menu whilst not vast is varied with some interesting dishes.

Ordered a take-away and collected. Portions seemed slightly smaller than previous owners but made up for in quality. Really very tasty and we didn't go hungry, clearing everything. Think it would be better to eat there and have it served direct. Menu smaller than previous owners meaning they can focus on quality and the ingredients are very fresh. Love the new interior of the restaurant and the ambiance. Staff very polite and helpful. Will definitely visit again.
