A very cosy atmosphere, nice food at a good price. The staff was very friendly and nice. I definitely recommend the place. Our waiter Leon was super friendly and funny.

Definitely the best Chinese food in the area, probably the most expensive as well but worth the extra. Really lovely food.

The food at Heens is absolutely delicious and the staff are lovely friendly people. For many years I’d stopped having Chinese takeaway as I couldn’t find anywhere that was much good. Admittedly I am fussy as my wife is Asian and so I know good Asian food when I taste it and I also know when it is unauthentic cr&p. I am delighted to have found Heens and I am now having Chinese takeaway more often than my waistline would like! Absolutely the best Chinese food you will find anywhere in the locality. A+++

One of the worst Chinese restaurants ever tried in London. Small portions and tasted like the Chinese takeaway. Not recommended at all if you look for authentic taste.

Have eaten here for over 13 years and regularly get takeaways. We occasionally try other Chinese takeaways and always end up saying ‘we should have just gone to Heens’. Beautiful fresh food and excellent choices for vegetarians.

I have been visiting Heens for years but recently the food quality has really declined. The food was greasy and just lacked flavour . Unfortunately I don’t think I will be returning to this establishment.

Really disappointed with the quality of the food I received this time. Pretty much all my food choices felt like the underlying sauces were watered down being insipid and lacking any flavour. I've been coming to Heens for years either in person or as a takeaway and its always been great, so it really hurts to write this review.

Delicious, hot & good quality food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Ordered a few dishes on sloth Sunday and was told delivery would be 40 to 50 mins. It arrived 95 mins later. The duck which cost £19 was missing the pancakes. I called up and the lady said on next order will sort me out I said no problemo. 30 mins later the delivery drivers turns up at my door with the pancakes

We ordered take out from here on a Saturday night, peak time and received amazing service, delicious food and an easy collection with parking right outside. The chicken chow mein, sweet & sour chicken Hong Kong style and crispy chilli beef was the best I’ve had in the local area, really impressed with the quality, flavours and presentation. We fed 3 adults and 5 kids and there was plenty to go around from a few portions of each we picked up. Was introduced by a friend to Heen’s whose house we were visiting that ordered from here & will now use it as our local, Go To Chinese take out ! Local senior popular seems to like it, but I won't be going back as it's really not "Chinese food" - fried rice and sweet-sour pork : ( service is so so and decor of the place is really dated

Visited with the family Friday night. Was told cash only as card machine not working. On the way to the cash point bumped into a friend returning to amend a wrong takeaway order. Told us he had just paid by card. So basically the restaurant was lying to save on tax. Allowed us to pay by card in the end. Food was less than average.

Have dined at Heen’s a few times and have always enjoyed the food, service and ambience. However I have been extremely disappointed with a takeaway tonight. The food was poor including a small portion of sauce which we thought was sweet and sour for our prawns but turned to be a red hot chilli sauce which totally destroyed the prawns. To top it all, on their website it states a 10% discount for a takeaway ( in the section headed delivery). When I paid for it (by card) I queried the amount they told me the discount was for collection only. Their attitude was tough! I will never order a takeaway from them again.

We hadn't booked a table, they found one for us. Service was very polite and efficient and the food was lovely. Thoroughly recommend.

Went to this wonderful restaurant again last night, also in June. Always been a very special place with amazing food, and brilliant service. Very kind people who make you feel very welcome. Beautiful Crispy Aromatic Duck, and Sizzling Satay Chicken, and Husband had Sweet and Sour King prawns. Delicious, then one of the best Calypso Coffee's to be had. Thoroughly recommend this lovely place.

We visited on a Friday evening. It was fairly busy but we were shown straight to our table. Service was very good and the food was excellent. Also very reasonably priced. We shared half a duck with the usual accompaniments, had a main dish each (including two sizzling Cantonese steak dishes, with rice, noodles and a couple of beers each. Total for the four of us was £130.

Lived in Sutton forever and never tried this place, decided to see what it was like. Immediately greeted and served by friendly staff, didn't wait too long for food and when it came it was delicious! Best Chinese in town for sure, and reasonably priced as well.

We visit Heens occasionally in a group of 6 and always have a lovely meal. Usually it's on of their "banquet" options which are really delightful, along with a couple of bottles of their house wine, both good. Our Chinese restaurant of choice in Sutton.

Delicious chinese food..We ordered based on reviews and were not disappointed. Whatelse do you want in a delivery which was quick and polite.

It used to be very good restaurant. Visited this week after a year or so. Food quality is average especially for claimed status and prices, too much oil, fresh vegetables were not particularly fresh. Tasted more like an average take away. Waiting staff was rude, made surprised faces every time my son asked for details. Not sure if it is under new management but definitely deteriorated over the years…

Nice little rustic restaurant with good food and not bad prices, busy place and best to book before hand as it gets very busy quite quickly and has good atmosphere, well recommend the place for a simple straightforward rustic restaurant

Was looking to order from here as the reviews seemed great, I called up on a bank holiday as i was wondering if they were open and if they did delivery. A lady answered the phone, very rude, she answered, didn’t say hello, i asked a question, replied ‘ye’, i asked another question ‘ye’. I wanted to double check if she heard me so i said “hello” and she clearly heard me and said hello back. Then before i finished my sentence to say i would call back with my order, she put the phone down. Extremely disappointing and rude. I will not be calling back.

Yesterday’s dinner was simply a catch with a friend and we opted for Heen’s in Sutton as it was definitely the best Chinese restaurant in the area. However, last night’s meal was decidedly average. First of all we were not greeted as we walked in by the staff. Instead we were left standing in a very busy restaurant for a good 5 x minutes before we were asked if we had a reservation, which we did. The Peking duck and spring rolls were pretty good but it went down hill from there. The rice arrived with peas when we specifically told them ‘without peas’ when we ordered. The lamb dish was very tasteless and lacklustre and when the rice did return, minus the peas, it was tasteless and extremely oily, probably from a quick re-heat in an oily wok. We used to come here quite B often but think we will be giving it a miss from now on . . .

On Valentines evening we had a lovely meal. Friendly atmosphere. Very good service. Really good food. We will be going back again soon. Thank you.

I tried to eat here by myself and they turned me away saying they were fully reserved. This was at 5pm when there was literally 3 customers. Did not want my business because I did not look like a high roller. The rude waitress should also get some education. Manners Maketh Man.

Service was bad, 2 waitresses were especially rude, they treated people differently. Food was just OK.

Poor customer service, the food arrived on our table but not what we wanted. I asked a waitress to check with the kitchen, if it has been an mistake and they could take it back since we did not touch the food. The waitress said okay, a few minutes later, a lady with crutches came to our table, starts shouting at us for refusing to pay a dish we ordered. We guessed she must be the manager of the restaurant or something, and tried to explain it was not the case, but she told over us and didn’t allow us to talk. Eventually I had enough. I told her to stop. We paid for the meal and decided never come back.

I am a regular customer at Heens, always dine in but today I placed a take away and specifically told them to make it bit spicier and bit more flavourful but there was zero flavour only I could see they added bit of chopped red chilli . Absolutely no salt in the fired rice or any flavour. Their kungfu chicken tasted stale not fresh at all.I don't think I will ever visit Heens anymore.The food was terrible .

Three of us went for a quiet little birthday meal for Mum. Staff were very accommodating for us when a huge table of noisy kids landed next to us and we politely requested to move after our starters. The restaurant is composed of two dining rooms which are almost completely separated, so we were cheerfully offered a nice quiet corner. Food was good. Starters (Seaweed, spring rolls, lettuce wraps) all fresh, all very crispy. Crispy, not chewy, so well fried and fresh. Mains of a chicken dish, pork dish and a Thai curry dish. All enjoyed. An accompanying bottle of soy on the table would be a nice addition, but I’m sure we could have had one if we’d felt strongly enough to ask for one. The Thai curry was actually pretty spicy hot, so plus points there. One of us is gluten free which can be awkward in a Chinese place (where soy sauce is in many things). They provided a chart to pick off what was suitable and we ended up still with a good variety of things to choose from. The disadvantage of the restaurant being split is that it can be difficult to catch a server. It took a while to get the bill. The portions are massive, here. We had doggy bags of chicken and pork to take home. They’re big portions and also not completely padded out with the cheap vegetables like onion and carrot, like they often are. They were impressively busy for an early Monday evening. Booking is advised.

First time visit and ordered a whole variety of food. Only thing enjoyed by all was the chicken with black bean sauce. I only ordered chicken dishes so not sure about the rest. Did not find it a very clean and the service was poor. Anyway price is very fair.

Service was quick and efficient, and the restaurant has fairly large capacity for a local Chinese restaurant. The food was OK, neither good nor bad, but perfectly adequate if you're looking for a local Chinese food fix and want dine inside a restaurant.

I do not write many reviews but felt I needed to on this occasion. I was rather disappointed to be honest. I had heard it was a lovely restaurant and lovely food. My family and I went to celebrate my husbands birthday. When we arrived at the restaurant we were asked if we had a booking or not. We did not so they sat us at a table right in front of the door and there were no greeting at all. We simply got, have a seat here. We noticed other customers come and were treated differently and poiletly and greeted with a smile. The waiter did not understand us well, and brought our food out all separately and missing parts of the dish after we had asked them about it. The service was poor, felt treated badly and the portions were very small. Not even a birthday wish for my husband or anything even after we had been saying happy birthday to him. we cancelled our mains and asked for the bill and left. Will not be going back!! Very bad experience and service!

We came in daily early however we were greeted by a waiter who almost found it a bother that we arrived approx 520pm. We had advised the waiter that our entire order was vegetarian. We ordered the hot and sour soup and when it arrived it came with prawns. When we sent it back the gentleman waiter and the lady waitress started to confront us saying we asked for the 'normal' hour and sour soup even though every item on our order was vegetarian! In addition other tables that arrived after us were clearly looked after basic things like soya sauce salt pepper etc were given to them before they even placed their order. We didn't get that at the very minimum! Anything we asked for was almost like a chore for these two individuals. When it came to paying the bill we just got a figure on the bill no itemised bill. In addition it was in the American Express leather folders so hence I intended to pay for my very average meal by Amex. The lady who was visibly annoyed at us for some reason gave the comment "No Amex!" not even a sorry we do not accept Amex or anything. I then paid my bill with another card and she didn't even bother say thank you or apologies for the soup nor do I know if they even took it off the bill. I've been to this restaurant but I think this will be the last time I go here. The service and rudeness of the two waiters gave us a horrible experience coupled with average food and that's if they make it accurately! Better restaurants around avoid! If all else fails there's a nandos up the road!

After planning a meal with some friends explaining how good Heens Chinese food was as I had been previously I was extremely disappointed. The staff clearly didn’t want to be at work and they did not like the fact we was ordering the same dish - as if to say ‘stop ordering ‘. We didn’t understand because they charge by the plate so In our eyes we couldn’t understand why they didn’t want to make money . The service was extremely poor the food wasn’t great overall we had a bad experience and would Not recommend this place agin which saddens me because my first time I had visited it was excellent. I really feel the staff don’t want to be there so some thing neeeds to be addressed!!

Very disappointed. Ordered a take away and was told it would be an hour. We were happy to wait. However after an hour and 15 minutes I called for an update and couldn’t get through. When the phone did ring it was ignored multiple times. When someone eventually answered they hung up. Food arrived after 2 hours but we sent them away as we decided to order elsewhere. It’s lucky that we opted to pay in cash otherwise there would be no way of getting a refund. Terrible service. Another customer lost!

Got a takeaway last night,food was absolutely discusting,one of the dishes I ordered was a beef curry,it hardly had no meat,swimming in some sauce stuff,compared to other places I've been to.we didn't hardly touch the food.will never go back there again🤢

I wish I could give any lesser stars than this. The food was ordered online and the waiting time was 45 min. However, the food didn't arrive even after 1 hr 30 min! We had a toddler waiting and asking for food at home and relied on the delivery. Very disappointing service.

Rude behaviour from the staff. The waitress was explicitly and deliberately rude to me, just because my card didn't work the first time, that too because of the issue with their wifi. They refused to give me an itemised bill. I suspect the restaurant evades tax as they insisted I pay by cash at first. The food was not bad.

Had two great delivery orders with Heen's previously but then tonight's meal was so bad that "disappointed" doesn't cover it. Ordered exactly the same dishes 3 weeks ago because it was so delicious (hence ordering again) but it was almost as if they had given me the dregs of last night's leftovers reheated in the microwave. Dishes were; quarter duck, ma pa tofu, crispy beef, crispy seafood noodles, special fried rice. Firstly they gave the wrong noodles and gave me the house noodles which is £1 cheaper. The noodles were soggy, broken and over boiled. The duck was tough and dry, almost inedible. The ma pa tofu was the best out of the bunch- but very bland and the tofu wasn't blended into the rest of the sauce- almost like they'd just added fresh tofu to old sauce? The crispy beef was awful. Really soggy, almost watered down sauce and no flavour. Sad to say that was £40 wasted. Barely touched the food as just couldn't stomach eating the rest. Funnily enough, the portions of the noodles and crispy beef were almost half of what I received last time- making me really wonder whether they have just given me leftover from previous days with new garnish? Haven't been this disappointed from a takeaway in a long time. I guess it's because was really looking forward to it with high expectations! Not sure would order from them again as now the quality is so inconsistent that don't want to risk it. £40 for inedible dinner is quite a splurge. I even rang them to ask if the chef had changed since 3 weeks ago! (Apparently not) Not sure how they could send out such appalling food using the same chef. Perhaps need to improve on quality control?

Really nice food and a good variety of options, some of which are a little unusual. Friendly but not overbearing service. Incredibly reasonably priced.

We have eaten at Heens on our last two date nights, both times this month. The food was excellent, the staff attentive and helpful. No complaints from us. We will be visiting again shortly.

Amazing food, amazing staff. It’s the little touches that count. We have 2 children who we took to try Chinese for the first time. The staff made them feel so welcome. They gave them their own kids chopsticks to keep and a bowl of sweets at the end which they were thrilled with. Great service which was prompt and attentive. The food was so well seasoned and delicious. I have struggled to find anywhere near as good as this in the area. Great portions and they happily packed the leftovers for us to take home. Great value for money. The kids can’t wait to go back so we will definitely be returning.
