Nice food, nice vibes. Was served by a lovely girl called Gemma, she poured my Kirin perfectly and was very helpful with my menus queries.

Everything poor, service, food and atmosphere. Staff didn't come to take order even they are free until I made a complaint.

Went there with my friends. We were served by Novis who was very pleasant, always with a smile! The Ramen and sushi were fresh and flavourful! We had the Hot & Spicy ramen with chicken broth and the Tempura chicken katsu sushi roll. The Karaage Japanese Fried Chicken was yummy! 100% would recommend and visit again!

Love coming to Sellyoak Yakinori, I have been a returning customer for over 5 years, I will say that I think the food quality has gone down a little bit, however the service I received today from Gemma was astounding, 10/10 for her, she served us well, met all our needs in a timely fashion and made us feel very welcomed and cared for within the establishment, probably the best customer service experience I have had in many years, hope she goes far in the industry!

Went for a midweek dinner- amazing food and service! Lots of vegan options- all flavourful and well made. We had the vegetarian gyoza, firecracker cauliflower and ramen. Highly recommend. Lovely service by Novis, Sujit and Riya!

It was a delightful experience, and the ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening. The standout part of our visit was the service. Sushma was friendly and Recommended the house special dishes. She also ensured we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Would definitely give a 10/10 for service. Our favourite restaurant. Came here for lunch and weren't disappointed. We were served by Sushma who was fantastic. Great service and very speedy.

I have been there quite many times and every time I go I love their food. Anything you order and the taste is amazing. But this time I didnt like the attitude of one of their I think Korean staff with a face mask. Felt she was a bit arrogant. We asked her for cutlery(fork and knife) and she got 2 forks and 1 knife. We thought she would bring another one while we wait to start our food, but we had to ask again and she ignored so we had to ask the sweet Indian girl who was very friendly with a smile on her face. Other than that I enjoyed the food. Also just a suggestion if the chairs could be more comfy to sit would have been great. But still I love the place for their food!

This is a nice place to eat. The vibe is chill and the service is 10/10 excellent. Khrish is very knowledgeable and had great suggestions on the various options on the menu.

Queue was very disorganised, was at the front and got told to move to the back because of the disorganisation. Ordered a katsu curry - very salty and rice was clumped and hard. Would not recommend.

Absolutely appalling service. Food arrived over an hour after the original latest delivery time provided. Food then cold when it did arrive. Don't waste your time ordering from here.

Vridhi served me with a smile. She was so nice and kind and helpful. The music was okay. The food was really good. I had katsu chicken curry with rice (halal) and i give it a 9/10. The curry was placed over the chicken, so the chicken lost its crispyness a bit. I also had a mango apple fresh juice, it was soo delicious. I give 9/10 because it had ice and i dont like ice. I did finish my plate and juice clean. Would totally come again.

A lovely restaurant with exceptional food on a with many other east Asian restaurants (yakinori being Japanese). To eat I had one of the bento boxes and a bubble tea both of which was amazing the bento box cost about 18 pounds and the bubble tea was 4.50 and both of them were easily worth it.

Yakinori Japanese is a gem in Birmingham! From the The flavors are exquisite, and the presentation is impeccable. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall fantastic experience. Yakinori is a must-visit for anyone craving sushi or ramen!

I ate Origial Chicken Ramen and Mixed Maki (10pc) like this. First of all, the interior was clean and spacious. There was also outdoor seating. This is the only Japanese restaurant near the University of Birmingham. First of all, maki was ordinary. The ramen noodles were ordinary, and the chicken seemed to have been torched, but it was disappointing because it was chicken breast. However, the ramen broth was really rich and savory and delicious. It would have been best if the chicken parts were crispy on the leg meat with the skin on, but...let's put that aside. The staff's service was truly excellent. They were always kind, and when they saw my clothes, they told me about the discount without even having to tell them that I was a student, so I was able to eat at a 10% discount. To be honest, the image of Japanese food in the UK is very high-end, such as high-end omakase, but it was a very good restaurant for value for money.

I’ve had a lot of Katsu curries, but this was genuinely my favourite ever. For £15 it’s quite expensive but thankfully it was a large size (good for a fat bloke like me). Would definitely recommend. Shushma gave us great service too.

If you decide to place an order here, I strongly suggest being assisted by any staff member except for the lady who wears a suit and has been employed here for several years (presumably the 'manager'). Her demeanor is rude, often rolling her eyes and emitting negative vibes when approached with inquiries. She is certainly not someone you'd prefer to engage with. For a more pleasant experience, it's advisable to avoid interactions with this individual who seems to selectively offer respect. While I choose not to disclose her name presently, I hope that she addresses and improves her attitude soon. Very disappointing and unsatisfactory. After oweners response; I have encountered the manager a few times since then, and I must say she has been friendlier than before. I hope this positive attitude continues, as I would like to remain a customer.

Klara's service was great and the food was tasty but I wish the bibimbap came with more vegetables. The atmosphere wasn't great because the only other customers were this family with 2 young children that were quite screechy but the restaurant itself was pleasant.

Horrible service. The guy at the till wearing glasses was taking our order and midway that he decided to leave us hanging for 5 minutes to take payment from other customers which he spent a good time chatting to. Waited for enough time to decide to leave as service was horrible from the get go. Never stepping in again.

This is the best Japanese restaurant ever. The staff are so kind and amazing and supported us the moment we arrived. The food was amazing and the quality was just incredible. Staff came to see if we were okay and offered different cutlery when seeing we were struggling with the chopsticks. The food was prepared and served quickly and we were greeted to smiles throughout. We even got offered Bubble Tea on the house, showing and explaining how to make it as well. The best atmosphere ever. I would definitely recommend and look forward to the next visit. Thanks to all the staff at Yakinori for an amazing and pleasant visit. 😊

Ordered online justeat and food arrived undercooked and cold

We came today and the service was amazing. The staff are really friendly and offered us free boba tea on the house! I started with the salt and pepper squid and it was really yummy. I tried to use the chopsticks but found it a little hard to grasp but I kept going. My next meal was the spicy wok noodles with prawns and my god it was like a fireball in my.mouth and it was really nice with the thick udon noodles. They did warn me it was VERY spicy but I loved it none the less. Finally I had a red bean paste pancake and I loved the texture of the beans. I would highly reccomend this to anyone looking for yummy and authentic Japanese food!

Ordered kids ninja sushi for £6.5 There are only 5 pieces delivered Avocado maki is not included (stated in the menu) until we asked

Ordered a make-your-own poke. They forgot the rice, the cucumber was just basic plain cucumber and not togarachi cucumber, the edamame was disgusting and the bubble tea I ordered had leaked everywhere. Was unable to use the straw as was soaking wet. Bag was dripping everywhere. Had gone through bowl with my food in it so my noodles tasted awful and like mango! Paid £20 and only ate a bit of chicken. Contacted uber and they refunded £8.99... Thanks guys. Won't be ordering from here ever again.

The worst I've been to. Ordered 2 chicken katsu currys one was with little meat and the other one had no curry ! Rice was cold too. The worst place ,I do not recommend!
