Blue Olive Restaurant. Went with the family as a new restaurant just opened in Rhosneigr. It says on the menu 2 to 3 meals to share, but it's more like 3 to 4 each would be much better. Staff are very friendly and attentive, and the decor is a very nice Mediterranean feel. I would like to point out that sticking ribs is only one rib.

We were staying local and had been in the other established hotel a few nights and decided we would try the pub out.... When we walked into the bar area, everyone turned and looked at us as though we had horns on our head and covered in chocolate... I know it's Wales but everyone was speaking Welsh and looking at us thus making us both feel very uncomfortable. We had a dry warm white wine spritzer with ice, and a Guinness, which we both left as we weren't enjoying the hospitality. The pub looked clean and warm but not inviting to strangers from outside their village... Not a lot to say positive enough or recommend.... This is only my findings......

What a shame that quite a nice pub (including lovely bar man) was completely ruined by a racist, sexist customer who felt it was perfectly ok to talk to us using the worst slurs, we would have stayed for a few drinks but quickly left after one, honestly couldn’t get out of there quick enough

More like a working man's club than a pub. Only one bitter on hand pump. Mainly locals, which is ok, but there only seem to be a couple of proper pubs in Rhosneigr so it's a shame that neither sell decent real ale.

Good local pub with a quiet lounge area and a busier dog friendly bar with juke box, pool table etc.. if you want it. Thought it was quite pricey drinks wise for a standard local bar. Also noticed that quite a few people were asking for things that weren’t available. Not a bad place to drop in for a drink or two though.

Off chance call in at Y Morfa for drinks and food found the set up with phone thru eat in food from Hooked and decent ales and very friendly service made this great choice and one we’ll return too. 3 Dirty Burgers and 1 Halloumi Burger with fries and slaw were all excellent. You know it’s good when nobody talks whilst eating 😁. Small menu choice but makes the quality all that much better from my experience. Well done with novel amalgamation 👍

This is a typical pub, pleasant girl behind the bar smiling and was on the ball with the covid restrictions when we went in , we had table service I think that’s a covid thing too , customer service was very good I didn’t wait long for a drink , and the girls were always smiling, we ordered a hooked in house burger whilst there , it was tasty , I had the rolling hills burger , very very good , quick and hot considering it was a very busy night , they take the covid very seriously there which is a good thing , it’s not always about the money and they turned people away if they didn’t have the tables , it isn’t open late but I overheard someone saying it’s because people don’t listen or adhere to rules when they get inebriated , which I suppose is true, I felt quite safe drinking there , it has a bar one side and lounge the other , no pool table though they say there is usually one there , covid rule again I think. Drinks reasonably priced and the burger too.

We stayed in Rhosneigr for a week and got back yesterday. We went to this pub 2 - 3 times during the week for a couple of drinks and found the staff very friendly and helpful. A nice range of beers and lagers (hand pumps as well as kegs) and the prices were very reasonable. On the last night, we went as a family to check out the restaurant upstairs. Called 'Hooked in House' it has a very positive series of reviews on Facebook. However, I felt it appropriate to put a review her on Trip Advisor. What a great place! At first glance, the choice of food seems limited - fish and burgers, but what amazing burgers! None of us (four adults and three children) had seen such choice on a 'pub menu' before. The staff were absolutely wonderful and the chef is obviously gifted! We were delighted with our food and the friendliness of the staff throughout. What a shame we only discovered it on our last night! Definitely a place to go back to!!

Had to review this if just for the seaside decor. Also for those chefs who follow us I have never tasted Jackfruit (fig) hoisin fried onion pomegranates vegan bao bun (steamed bun) which was amazing as an alternative to a burger in a bun. Not too many choices on the menu and only two desserts which we tried (they were perfect) so it was easy to decide . They also do take aways with only one staff waiting on but she managed very well as it was a busy night . Forgot our sweet fries, apologised and did not charge us . Just off the main high street and would recommend you try here.

At least one trip to the Thai Restaurant which used to be above Y Morfa was always on the cards on our annual visit to Rhosneigr. Whilst we were disappointed to find it was closed, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to its replacement Hooked. Advertised as Street food it is a small but tasty menu with a decent wine choice. I loved the prawn burger and with the whole family in tow I think we tried everything on the menu. No complaints! I think they could do themselves a favour by advertising the menu and opening times on the internet, but as I know this is new, perhaps it's in progress. It is not open for lunch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I recall.

Llegamos a las 6:15 pm en un hermoso soleado viernes en julio y el lugar estaba lleno a los rápidos - parecía todo el pueblo había convertido. Visiting Anglesey as a group of 6,on a Saturday night..most places appeared to be fully booked..This place was almost empty;we were yet to discover why!.Taking about 15 minutes to take our drinks order, them another to bring them..Then another 15 to even take our order for the meals..By such time the place had a straddling of folk coming in..It took about an hour to start serving our starter,...only then they served up a wrong order to one of our group, describing the wrong meal..as he didn't know Thai food, proceeded to consume the wrong meal..leaving another to accept their wrong order..Then only serving 4 of us,the waitresses were serving another table that came in half an hour after us!..The staff (no older than student girls) were confused at the meal description, going by the discussions they were clearly having at the bar..They then tried offering us bottles of wine that we hadn't order....On politely asking the whereabouts of our orders, the waitresses said they were new..(untrained it seemed)..Eventually seeking the person in charge,I was lead to the kitchen -an Asian lady, whom appeared to be the boss..1 (herself) cooking all the meals for most of a full restaurant..No surprise it took so long to serve.I complained at the slow orders, and confusion of the staff-she didn't appear to be informed, let alone happy about my complaint..(if she really understood it)- She offered 10% discount-with an indifferent attitude shown..Not without another excuse from a waitress saying 'they were very busy'..(Not when we first came in,it was almost empty then). The meal was nothing special as most of us were familiar with Thai food..the sweet 'n' sour meal tasted like it was out of a can from a cheap 'Chinese' take-away!There were other folk at tables looking worried as to their orders also...I recommend they train people up properly and the boss to be overseeing..not tied to the stove!..We had to make the best of a night out;no thanks to slow and sloppy service.( I'm almost certain they'll be reviews to overcompensate for this poor review.).SO!...If you have all the time in the world, not perticularly hungry-want to risk getting the wrong meal with half your group served at a time while they serve another table having come in after your group, which is always annoying.-and served by untrained staff that are quick to make excuses for their errors..Please try this place-you never know your luck!..This is a collective review of 6 friends that none of us could recommend.Thank you.

We ordered a takeaway whilst on a family holiday in rhosneigr. When we ordered we were told to allow for an hour before collecting. On arrival (following payment) after the hour had passed we were told that the food was not ready yet. After waiting a further 45 minutes my husband asked how much longer it would be, only to be informed that they had still not started cooking our food and it would be at least another half an hour before it would be ready! At this point we decided to forget it and asked for a refund, which they were unsure how to carry out and took a further 15 minutes trying to figure this out. A full 2 hours after ordering the food we were left with no meal and nowhere was open as a second option! So we had to have cereal for tea. There did not seem to be any staff that cared about our dissatisfaction and there was clearly other people in the restaurant who were unhappy with the service We were absolutely dismayed with the service we received and would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

This restaurant was unfortunately suggested to us by our B&B host in Rhosneigr. Words still fail us to describe how shocking this experience was. The waitresses were rude and unresponsive, perpetually avoiding eye contact with the customers so as not to have to take responsibility for the really poor service. We waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for our starters, which were vegetable tempura and spring rolls. The tempura was rather a really coarse batter, whilst the spring rolls had an unidentifiable black filling (which looked and tasted like rotten peas). The second course took so long that one of us had time to nip to the pub downstairs to watch the end of the Champions league final. By the time the food arrived, the whole experience had been so ruined that we simply ate part of our dishes and left. We had ordered two different types of Thai curry with vegetables, but the curry was really watery and the vegetables drab, over-boiled and (in the case of the cauliflower) verging on rotten. However, I would like to emphasise, that although the food was not pleasant, what we really found unacceptable was the service. People sitting in the other tables were speaking to one another saying "this is awful", directly going to the counter to demand attention and leaving the restaurant in a fowl mood. Not coming back.

Had a delicious meal which was reasonably priced. Large portions very tasty mine was said spicy and boy wasn't it. Service a bit slow but worth the wait

We keep coming back here because the food is so good. Admittedly, the service can be a tad slow, but since it's so busy all the time, you are going to get that. The staff work very hard to please everyone and are always so friendly and nice, even under pressure.I am a fussy foodie, and I can guarantee that this is one of the best thai restaurants in the UK.

My wife and I enjoyed the experience of the restaurant. It is situated above one of the few pubs in Rhosneigr so it was quite a good combination as it was possible to enjoy the beers on offer in the bar before moving upstairs for the meal. Often the beers on offer in restaurants are bottled so this made a nice change. The restaurant room was not enormous but pleasantly arranged and clean. The food was both tasty and served hot. We both had Chicken Thai Green Curry. My one negative is that the chicken seemed processed and if better quality ingredients had been used the restaurant might gain in the long run. The staff were friendly.

We chose to order and takeaway as we were holidaying here with 2 dogs.We loved the food so much that we went back the next night for another!!The food was so tasty and there was a lot of choice. We chose a few of the starters and chose a noodle dish and rice dish, as well as one of the specials advertised on the board outside. We were not disappointed and would thoroughly recommend it.

I was really looking forward to a Thai meal after reading boards outside on our many walks during our stay in Rhosneigh. However when we walked in a sign said restaurant closed. When my husband asked at bar. We were told they were not sure if they would be open for food or not that night. N that case why have boards outside ??

Having seen the reviews on here we were looking forward to this place however were massively let down. Situated above a rowdy pub and in need of some serious modernisation (decor as well as crockery/cutlery/placings), the poor standard of food was matched by the at-best mediochre level of service( bottle of wine just plonked on the table unopened for example). There is no way the food was cooked by an authentic thai chef: sharing platter was a mixture of iceland party food and frozen vegetables in soggy batter. The beef was generic cash and carry fodder and the chicken was reconstituted watery rubbish. Both sauces were watery and flavourless. The rice had frozen peas/carrots/corn in it. Prices far outweigh the value. Had it not been for the politeness of the only 2 Thai girls/women there (who im sure are just there as a token attempt at authenticity), this would be a one star review. It's a shame as there is potential to make this a top class place, considering the location. Certainly won't be going back. Please up your standards.

Came in a few times as we were staying in Rhosneigr over Christmas. Very friendly on most occasions, but not a pleasant place in our experience on Christmas Day with a small group of men behaving in a very rowdy and crude fashion. Other than that one occasion, a nice place for a quiet drink.

First time visiting the island, and after reading the reviews decided to try some authentic Thai food. The reviews were a mix of good and bad but I found that Typhoon Thai was superb. The young staff were very mature and well mannered and despite their age they knew what they were doing. I would definitely return on our next trip due to the warm welcome we received from the amazing staff and the food was alright.

My fiancé and I recently visited for dinner during our stay in rhosneiger. After reading some of the amazing reviews we were really looking forward to our meal...The restaurant wasn't the best however if the food was amazing this would have been overlooked. We ordered duck spring rolls, chicken satay and tempora prawns..... All were very nice however the tempora prawns were not tempora they were breaded which was our first complaint. For the main my fiancé ordered a Thai red curry with egg fried curry and he absolutely loved it. I don't like hot food so I ordered the massaman curry and coconut rice. The curry was quite tasty however it was so, so sweet! And I really like sweet curries. Our bill came to £49 with 4 drinks. The service was ok but the waitress was extremely young and seemed to be very fed up as the only other two tables that were in the restaurant also complained about the food we overheard. Overall the meal was ok however I wouldn't be rushing back.

It was relatively quiet when we went in last weekend. We didn't have a booking but we were only the 3rd table taken. Very nice and varied menu and some nice touches like adding Thai influence to local produce (sea bass and lamb as examples). Service was a little bit hit and miss (the serving staff were very young and one appeared to be very new to the role) but it didn't detract from a nice meal. One down side, I asked for 2 coffees at the end, the server had to ask whether they did coffee and was pointed to mugs, a kettle and a jar of instant!

This had to be the best thai in the north of the hemisphere. We had been visiting Angelsey from Australia and was delighted to try this little gem of a restaurant. If you dare try the jungle curry - Hot! And so tasty!Next time we're in town we'll definitely have dinner again.

If you are interested in having superb Thai food in ok surroundings then the Typhoon Thai is the place for you. It is situated above a drinking establishment in Rhosneigr. The surroundings are not the best and are definitely not oriental but the room is clean and functional. The food on the other hand is exceptional, definitely authentic Thai cuisine. The mixed starter we had was superb and the steamed Sea Bass that we both sampled was exquisite, probably the best fish dish we have ever had. Everything else about the meal was also first class from the service we received to the drinks on offer. We will definitely be recommending this restaurant to our friends and will definitely return.

Called in here with a group of work colleagues recently because our first choice was fully booked. The Thai restaurant itself is above a bar, an unusual set-up that wouldn't be a problem but for the strong smell of disinfectant in the pub. I assumed this was a one off but the member of our party who lives locally claims the smell is a permanent feature. It doesn't really put you in the mood for dining but the smell goes as you climb the stairs so not too bad a problem. The food itself is high quality and there is plenty of choice on the menu. Price wise its very reasonable and service is competent if never outstanding. The decor could be better but its clean and well maintained. By all means worth a visit but if returning to Rhosneiger it wouldn't be my first choice.

We ordered a takeaway from here last night, we waited nearly two hours for it to arrive. When we opened the meal and and served it up it was without doubt the worst chinese food we have had anywhere in the world. The food was tasteless and bland and lukewarm. The barbeque spare ribs didnt taste remotely of barbeque and were fatty. The main course was just gristle and fat and tasted stale. After a moutful of the ribs and main course we threw the whole lot in the rubbish.Horrible and a total waste off money... beware

Had heard great things about breakfast here but the reality was different. My son wasnt allowed to swap his black pudding for extra bacon. No idea why they have this unhelpful attitude. Makes no sense. No strawberries for the pancakes. Not the end of the world but theres a co-op about290 metres up the bloody road. Coffee was weak and lifeless. Service wasnt the most cheerful. At the end of the day the cooked brekkers and pancakes werent bad but the whole thing didnt feel like a treat at all.
