Pearl House in Isle of Anglesey

Decided to try the Pearl House chinese takeaway whilst staying in Amlwch, really glad we did we ordered some starters and mains and all were really tasty dishes. Would really recommend you will not be disappointed.

Very poor to be fair. Chips were burnt. Had the chicken curry. Strangest tasting chicken I've ever had!!!

I only went to this takeaway because the Lucky House was closed, and it is the last time I will ever set foot in the place. I ordered a special fried rice, which was stone cold, and I ordered a special chow mein which the noodles were completely raw, to the point where you could snap the noodles in your hand, completely uncooked. The worst part is when I returned the meal the chef rudely tried telling me that the noodles were supposed to be like that. Terrible food, terrible service, avoid at all costs!

Good food again as usual. Always busy on the weekend so best to phone your order through ahead of time and add 5 mins. 😂 Order is always correct and I always give a tip to the server. Happy days

One of the best Chinese I have ever had one thing ill say is tone it down on the oil half of my curry was oil . Apart from that lovely staff and very polite, food was amazing

This was one of the worst Chinese takeaways I’ve ever had. I just wish I’d seen the reviews before I ordered. The noodles were raw. Everything else was really over cooked. Please read this review before you order and don’t bother going to this takeaway. Awful.

got the food home and they had given me uncooked instant noodles in my chow mein! had to boil them myself! will be sticking to the Lucky House from now on

If I could rate this Chinese lower that one star I would! We decided to have a quiet night in with a bit of Chinese takeaway. Got back home. After asking for a chicken and prawn chow mein, I got a chicken and pork chow mein. To top it all off, the noodles within my meal were raw and extremely hard. Not the way we wanted to end a hard and busy week! Will not recommend.

Crap service & very crap food, worst Chinese in a long time. used to be good but recently its gone way down in my estimation.

Had a Chilly shreaded beef with soiled rice and special Curry with fried rice Food was 10 out of 10 service was great by big man behind screen not had rice that fluthy for a long time will be back next time we visit

Ordered a king prawn curry, egg fried rice and chips. Curry was like gravy with a few large prawns and a token effort of onion… horrible. Egg fried rice was bland and looked like microwave packet rice. Chips were average but I would say they are cooked in oil in need of a desperate change. AVOID THIS TAKEAWAY AT ALL COSTS…

Chips horrendous Rice terrible Won't bother again

I like a good Chinese, but this is worth giving a miss, we ordered Chow Mein and Sweet and Sour, the sweet and sours get the 1 point as it was OK, edible, but the Chow Mein was not eaten.

Food was ok from here chips a little dry but curry was full of flavour, fried rice nice and tasty. Portions were standard size in foil trays. Service was good and wait time was average

Ordered a mix of food for 5 people, not one of us enjoyed it. Ended up throwing a lot away. Do not like wasting food. Very disappointed. Chinese takeaway night is a treat night meal but not this time.

The worst chinese I have ever had in my life. I am a fatty and have one weekly but this... don't bother, get a pot noodle, you'll enjoy it more

The chips were so burnt and hard that I have quite literally chipped my tooth, the fried rice was essentially just boiled rice with an egg chucked in and very bland, the prawn crackers tasted stale, the duck in plum sauce was nice right up until I found a bone in it. I’ve been to Chinese take aways all over Anglesey and this is by far the worst I’ve had (and most expensive) it has progressively got worse over the last few months and now I won’t ever be returning, genuinely a terrible dining experience.

This is my local which I visit on a weekly basis. Tasty every time! Great family run business. I would recommend.

Ordered soup - ok, mixed starter - everything tasted the same, of grease. The beef in green pepper and black bean sauce tasted like beef in gravy and the satay roast pork was ok but still bland. Sorry but this was not good and not cheap. Would I return, no.

I read carefully the reviews before deciding to try this takeaway, and OMG have those leaving 5 star reviews not tried other businesses!!?? It was edible and filled an 'empty stomach' but was virtually tasteless and the sauce was like water with oil floating on it (free prawn crackers were good and appreciated)

Worst Chinese ever. As soon as we walked through the door there was a unpleasant man taking our order and it look to me as he clearly didn't want to work there and he was unfriendly. Then when we got home with our meal that we bought we opened the starters and the ribs were black, tasteless and small. The chicken wings were covered in this watery sauce which was completely tasteless. We then opened our mains to find that my chicken chow mein was a disgusting colour and the chicken was barely even chopped up! I decided to risk it and eat my chow mein which was tasteless. also the mushrooms tasted off and the noodles were all sticking together in clumps where some had sauce and some did not. We ordered here WHICH WAS A MISTAKE! so I will encourage you DO NOT ORDER FOOD HERE here take your business elsewhere.

Wow, probably the worst sweet and sour chicken I’ve ever had. Why do you think battered chicken in a washy sweet sauce is acceptable..?

Chinese curry should have a gentle spice but this didn’t. Special Chow mien had a nice amount of meat/prawn but not a lot of taste .. generally disappointing

We have been customers at pearl house for a long time and for the third time in a row one of the meals we received was not what we ordered. The other meals were also not as good a standard as usual which is a shame because we used to really enjoy the meals from there. Unfortunately, we now won't be returning again.

Nice portion sizes and food was good but could be worth double checking what you are ordering because things were prepared differently to what our usual takeaways do it.

Me and my partner have been a returning customer to here. We have sampled many take aways in the area and have decided this one does the best chicken satay by far. The rest if the food is pretty good too so I'm always happy to return with her. You get a decent quantity, service with a smile and a very tasty meal at an affordable price. I highly recommend here. P.S. We travel about half an hour to here, rather than areas such as Llangefni etc. It's worth the extra mile for good quality food.

Tonight I went to visit the pearl house for a Chinese and it was great! The curry sauce was perfect and the meat was tasty. Also the rice was cooked to perfection. The server took my order and was very polite and when I came back he had finished work however the gentlemen who gave my my order was very polite. I’ll most definitely be visiting again. Thank you !

I wouldn't even bother trying any other Chinese in this area, this is highly the best Chinese I've ever had and coming from Manchester a city full of them says a lot!!

Our order was taken quickly, and after about 10/15 minutes received our order all wrapped and ready to take away, despite there being a steady stream of customers. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal (meal for 2), Myself never really fussy but my husband can be, but he really enjoyed the takeaway.

Primera noche en Amlwch y encontramos este de comida para llevar en los librillos de casa de campo. Pedimos 8 comidas que en general estaban bien, aparte de la carne y hongos que era sosa y grasienta. Quizás tuvimos suerte, pero cuando he estado de viaje y con hambre puede ser muy decepcionante.

Great Chinese takeaway, best in town, best special Curry I've had.

Tonight I ordered the Cantonese roast pork and duck fried rice, which to put it lightly, was horrendous. The "meat" (gristle and fat) was dry, chewy and tasted like it had been sitting for a few hours, as well as there being very little sauce to make it taste any better. The fried rice, was in fact not fried at all, but instead just eggy boiled rice. The spring roll I had ordered as a side, was black on the inside and wasn't edible. It took less than five minutes to get home and open and by that point it was already stone cold and had to be microwaved, and on top of that, they charged me more than the advertised menu prices. I understand that it was busy, but that shouldn't detract from the quality of the food, which was the worst Chinese meal I have ever eaten.

This is the better of the two local chinese takeaways. It is spotlessly clean and equipped with TV and newspapers for waiting customers. The food is excellent and I have never had a complaint with it.

Good food but the Chips are always soggy

Mientras en nuestra caravana en la zona decidimos probar la comida para llevar China local. Había unos pocos para elegir, sin embargo, decidimos al final de la Perla Casa como elegir el menú parecía bastante bueno. Había tres de nosotros 2 adultos y un niño, y compartimos el siguiente, probamos el nasi goreng arroz frito (como una picante singapur arroz frito) algunas sencillas chow mein, una porción de patatas fritas, salsa de curry de gambas y algunas galletas saladas. La cuenta fue de 12 libras, que era muy razonable. Nos pareció que era bastante buena como la comida para llevar que normalmente no están de vacaciones realmente auténtica, este es gracias

Personal amable, servicio rápido, pero la comida es en el mejor de los indiferentes. Grasa pesada y las salsas son paquetes gloop. Dejar a solidificar cuando vayan frío para ver lo que me refiero. La salsa de curry más gruesas de la piel se pone un si más se enfría antes de comer. El preparado patatas fritas bien, menos grasienta que la mayoría de las tartas y chip. Dulce y agria es una rosa más en bits combinado con dulces. Las costillas son buenas y crackers de gambas están bien si están cocinados en nuevo día de grasa. De lo contrario, son de color oscuro y sabor horrible. Yo deseo que era mejor. Podría ser con nuevas ideas donde en el menú, y menos dependencia de las salsas de paquetes.

We had a takeaway today while on holiday in the area. Most of the food was ok but the chow mien was rather tasteless. It wasn't horrible and the children enjoyed it - would use again if in the area.

Been using lucky house in amlwch for years but were left disappointed by our last takeaway so we tried pearl house, we ordered our usual takeaway of chicken balls, egg fried rice, noodles with bean sprouts and onions, chips and barbecue sauce, must say it was very nice and we enjoyed the food, the staff were also friendly and the cost of the food was reasonable, so overall we were pleased with our takeaway.

The food here was okay but could've done with a little more flavour. We had a substantial takeaway for 6 people and some of the dishes lacked flavour.

Been using tis one when I visit Amlwch.Its clean, the staff are friendly, the food is fast and fresh. Never had a bad meal...

People have to be realistic about this place. You are not eating from a take away which has competition. And let's not forget where it is; Amlwch.Taking all the above into consideration it's OK. I had the chicken balls in BBQ sauce and they were really good. Rice was OK but the chips dreadful. If you are in the area it's not too bad. Suck it and see.

I'm not usually a fan of Asian food but having had takeaways from the Pearl House on three occasions so far I can not fault the food. Despite having a 10 mile round trip, I prefer to order and wait rather than phone in ahead as the food has been cooked fresh to order and piping hot. The prices are very reasonable and the food is good as is the service. What more could one ask for? Off for another takeaway this evening.

Whilst on Holiday in the area we called at Pearl House for a chinese treat on Saturday 15th. This was our first ever visit to Pearl House. We ordered Chicken Chow Mein, Kung Po Beef, Egg Fried Rice, Pancake Rolls and Prawn Crackers. We drove a few miles back to the campsite and sat down to eat. What a treat! not. The rice had no egg in it and was bright yellow (possibly made with egg powder!) but did taste ok as did the pancake rolls (just). The rest was just a gloopy mess with too much MSG, dusky pink food colouring (Kung Po Beef) and not much flavour. Seriously my mouth watered when it was being dished out but not watering as in excited taste buds!!! The Prawn crackers tasted mostly of oil or cooking fat. The worst chinese takaway we have ever had. The shop was very clean and inviting and it was busy. Sorry Guys.

Thought I'd try the local Chinese it was ok I enjoyed it but I don't know why but it tasted. Little iffy and I had the most terrible stomach ache. I did not enjoy that. Can not explain the feeling.

We had a range of starters and chow mein and all were really tasty. The chicken and sweetcorn soup, prawn toasts, pancake rolls, BBQ ribs were all really good. At one time takeaways used to give prawn crackers free?

Looking for a takeaway we stumbled on this one by chance and what a find! Immaculately clean shop frontage, large menu (though not much vegetarian choice), very reasonable prices, quick service and the food was so hot it was almost too hot to eat after a 18 minute drive back to the holiday cottage. I usually expect the worst from takeaways but the food was wonderful. Can't recommend it enough!
