Happy House in Isle of Anglesey

After reading other reviews I was hoping that people were being over critical but honestly our takeaway was just acceptable. Food was bland, I had the char siu chowmein and the meat didn't look or taste good. Most of our meals went in the bin.

Sadly this was the worst Chinese we've had. It was a busy evening so we waited 1.5 hours and customers in store even said it was worth the wait. We decided to order and when it arrived it tasted of nothing including the noodles, rice, satay sauce and vegetables. The chips were okay but not great. Wouldn't go back

The food from Happy House was extremely good, not overly salty like some. It's not expensive and the service was excellent, and really friendly!

I have always found the staff to be friendly and polite and most of all the food was lovely

Great food, not expensive at all and a lot of options. We ordered a special chow mein with sauce, salt & pepper chips and beef san juan (spicy), everything was delicious!

Food looks nice, but it's the taste that counts. rice was like couscous the curry was not nice it was not a usual colour and watery, poor food all together the little that I did eat due to the food not being nice made me sick. Never wasting money there again.

Majorly underrated- it doesn’t look much from the outside. However, I have just had the best salt n pepper chicken, virmicelli noodles and prawn crackers I have had in a long time. I had no idea it was there. Great find.

Takeaway only. Tucked away so you will need to seek to find it but well worth the time and effort. Food is freshly cooked, bursting with flavour, and beats the overpriced competition by a country mile. The young lady taking orders is really helpful and happy to explain dishes. Hidden gem.

Food was "OK", the 40 minute wait for food was not, seemingly staffing issues although the command of English in the shop not the best (wouldn't have liked to have taken my chances with a phone order.) Shop is like going back into the 70s. Have included a picture of the back of the menu, front of the menu was posted by someone a few weeks back.

Delicious take away nice and hot.

From the outside, its difficult to tell its actually a takeaway . There is no sign anywhere, not even an 'Open' sign. Food was average, portions were good but we had the strangest 'Salt 'n' Pepper' chicken ever, not recommended. In side it looks like something from a 60's movie, so old fashioned and grubby looking. I doubt if we would order again. 🤔

wonderfull meal! our takeaway for 4 adults and 2 children only came to just over £40 for which there was outstanding quality and great portion sizes for each dish. would highly recommend!

Great chinese food. Come here every time we are in Beaumaris, and it never disappoints. Amazing value, always tasty, fresh and hot. Mum doesn’t eat rice etc, but gets the chicken maryland from here, and absolutely loves it every time!!

I always have good food from there. It's a take away only, the lady who takes the order and brings the food is always friendly. I asked about the differences between certain dishes and she happily explained.

I visit this place every September with my brother in law when we go on a fishing and camping trip. As others have said, it is not always easy to find , hidden away in the backstreets, but don’t let this stop you ! Great value for money with good, tasty portions . Keep it up .

Ordered for a family of 6. 1stly, it was cheap, the order only came to £50. But the food we found very hit and miss, we gave them the following ratings 5/5 Hot and sour soup Chicken and sweetcorn soup 4/5 Chicken foo yung 3/5 Chicken fried rice Schzechuan beef (not spicey even when labelled hot) 2/5 Sweet and sour Chicken (no flavour in the sauce at all) Deep fried beef in chilli sauce (not spicey even when labelled hot) We generally found the food bland. The sweet and sour sauce had no flavour and the hot spicey dishes needed a lot more heat. However, it was fresh, hot and generous with the meat and veg in the dishes which is why we didn't go below 2 out of 5. It just needed a little bit more flavour in most of the dishes and we would have returned. Sadly. We won't.

Decent enough Chinese takeaway, almost obscured from public view with no real signage. Food was hot, tasty though lacking in heat as I'd expect from chilli and Szechuan dishes. If you can't find the place, just follow the sounds of Iron Maiden as the chef plays them on loop as he cooks! 😂

Just in case, like I did, you think it's no longer here. It is !! It's still tiny and the outside is white now. Ordered for me and th'ubby tonight when we walked past and realised they are still here (after not finding them on internet 😕) Fifteen minutes later we had hot, delicious food, reasonably priced and big portions. Happy House = Happy Tums

Me and my boyfriend came here whilst on holiday, we really enjoyed the food, my boyfriend even went back to get some more lol. They’re super lovely in there and were super fast with the food, we went back home and waited 15 minutes and it was ready by the time we went back. Would definitely recommend this place!

I think the negative reviews are quite outdated.... We're on holiday here, just had a large meal from this Chinese and it was lovely. I'd recommend giving it a go and would happily order again next time I'm in Beaumaris!

Pop in every time I'm in Beaumaris, had several dishes, all good size portions and enjoyable, will be back again.

I strongly feel the need to right this review after all the negative comments! Wayne is the best there is, cooks a mean chicken ball and the best chicken fried rice you’ve ever tasted, it’s out of this world! Literally! Wish I could have his gravy recipe 😍 also the cheapest you’ll find for miles around unlike other takeaways.

Always good portions cheap prices can be a hit and miss but iv always enjoyed wat iv ordered onions in a sauce portion of noodles and partner has salt pepper chicken and chop suey roll u get two large ones in one portion for 1.80 which we share ...only thing im not to keen on is the rice

I have ordered here 3 times now, and it’s not been good. Tonight was so bad I took the order back; to be fair, the man who served me was nice and offered to change for another dish. Sadly, the replacement wasn’t good either, and much of it went in the bin. If you can, drive 10 minutes to Menai Bridge for better Chinese food.

We’ve actually been twice - goodness knows why - we thought first time may have just been an off day for them....but no....2nd time was still absolutely awful. The food is disgusting, chewy and slimy. We enjoy Chinese food a lot but here most of what we ordered was bizarrely different from any other Chinese we’ve ever had. I ordered fried rice thinking it’d be safe - but they’d poured some jellied gravy like sauce all over top, the sweet and sour sauce was runny and tasted oddly like watered down ketchup. Even the prawn crackers were bad - we shouldn’t be able to fold our prawn crackers in half. We’ve had bad takeaways before but never one we’ve completely not been able to eat. Would avoid!! To be fair chips weren’t too bad - just touch soggy - so I’d only order chips. Plain chips.

I ordered sweet&sour tofu but when i got home it was battered king prawns. The sweet and sour was more like ketchup too. Im vegeterian so i had to give the meal to a family member and dig in the kitchen for something else

I travel from Bethesda to beaumaris for my Chinese food I absolutely love this take away I have been to different take aways but non of them beat this one. Yes you get some hot and miss like the "bad" reviews say but don't you everywhere you eat! Wayne is a star always giving me my extra sauce with my food! Honestly been going here for the past 8years and nowhere tops it, well worth travelling 13miles for

Flicked a coin on Chinese or Indian , we wish we’d had Indian . Missing items, half the menu removed, soup was like water with minimal chicken and sweet corn, duck in plum sauce was just fat in some watery sauce, chilli chicken was from frozen strips, very disappointed, with Beaumaris on the way up on the food line this place really has no place in the town . Shame really !!!

Ordered the chicken chow mien, I counted 5 small pieces of chicken, the beansprouts tasted out of date. Very messy building, scratched graffiti on the walls inside. And behind the counter looks like a car boot sale. I would NOT recommend eating from here.

just popped in for curry and chips as I was still hungry but yes it was nice was going to have a meal one night but never got back

Oh dear. The worst Chinese take away I've ever had. Absolute rubbish. Partly my fault for not reading the reviews first. Most of it went into the food waste recycling box. If I had a dog I wouldn't have given it what was left.

Absolutely the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten (or left most of). In fact, possibly some of the worst food of any kind I have ever eaten.

Arrived late and it was only across the road. After that it all went down hill. Chicken was like the pre-cooked frozen stuff you get from Aldi. First and last visit.

La comida era insípida y poco atractivos. Sí, los precios son baratos pero era la única comida para llevar chino que se podía encontrar en Beaumaris! También nos decepcionó cuando llegamos la bolsa casa para encontrar que uno de los tapas del envase no había sido puesto en líquido acuoso correctamente dejando todo el lugar. Primera y última visita a China la peor comida para llevar que hemos tenido.

The food was bland and looked unappealing, the take away was scruffy and felt a bit grimy, would not recommend.

This was a hit and miss place. Went there for a takeaway one day and it was excellent went again and it was not so good. Would we go again yes I think so

Este es un restaurante chino situado en la cima de Rosemary Lane. Parece una casa normal pintada de amarillo brillante. Teníamos dos comida para llevar durante nuestras vacaciones y disfrutamos de ambos. El pollo con precios muy razonables, es decir, 3,80 libras y cajú pero el arroz tiene un coste adicional de £1 huevos duros. Un lugar bastante nostalgia para mí, ya que es muy tradicional chino con faroles colgantes y las figuras - me recuerda de comida para llevar de mis jóvenes días! Personal cortés.

he examinado unos pocos restaurantes en nuestra localidad y más lejanos ... sin embargo los "niños" ahora 35 y 42 años dicho POR QUÉ no Te REVISAR nuestro "capricho"llevar en Beaumaris.

We stumbled upon this takeaway by chance and weren't disappointed. The food was lovely with generous portion sizes, but what was most impressive was the cost. To feed four adults and one child (with left overs) we paid just £21.00! Unbelievable when we're used to paying that for two adults.
