Jade Village in Isle of Anglesey

We visited this restaurant and had booked a table for 7. We arrived on time and told to wait for our table. The waitress kept walking away from us and in the end i said where is our table we booked. She said people we at the table but should finish shortly. I said but we booked it for 7pm so it should be ready. She kept saying it would be ready in a minute. After 25 minutes still waiting we left. There was a lot of other people who had booked the same time still waiting. The queue for the restaurant was out the door and a lot of people hadn't booked. Don't know what time they would have eaten. Total shambles and no apologies. Will not be visiting again. All they are interested in is getting as much money as they can and not worry about the customers. It doesnt seem to matter whether or not you book a table.

They’re were rude and there child ruihan is completely bullying me in school I tried being friends with him but he just bully me and calling me slurs

Just had a lovely Chinese banquet at Jade village. Staff were friendly, and very attentive taking a drinks order promptly. They left enough time for use to review the menu before then taking our orders of 2 banquet A and 2 vegetarian banquets. The food that was brought out was both hot and tasty. We couldn’t fault it! A really good variety of food with good portion sizes. We were so full! Then came desert and coffee. The restaurant was quite busy with majority of the tables taken, that said we still experienced excellent service and there was someone overseeing the restaurant checking everyone had everything they needed. All in all a lovely family meal for myself, husband and 2 teens. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

We ate here on Sat night We were booked for 5.30 as we had children with us Even so early it was busy and got worse There was 2 large tables for a 40 th birthday and they were being put under pressure to hurry up and leave as there were people waiting . As time went by more and more people were waiting for tables getting angry as they had booked Our staters came , hot plates arrived then after 25 mins our main courses arrived but some we hadn’t ordered and some we had ordered missing ,My prawns weren’t cooked and were raw and had to go back . No word of apology ! Staff were totally overwhelmed by the number of people at tables and waiting . People were angry as some had booked birthday meals and were told the booked time meant nothing Sadly many just left

Food was way to salty, but nowhere near as salty as the waiters attitude, he was probably the owner, as there's no way anyone would actually emply him to work in their restaurant. He dropped a used spoon into my friends half full drink while he wasn't there, he just took it out and carried on as if it never happened. Guinness with a dash of Cantonese, yum yum. He did rectify this but only after someone pulled him up on it. The food was average at best, the receipt was in Chinese so good luck checking if it is correct.

What a great place to eat. Such friendly service, extensive menu, tasty food in big portions ! Every time we end up with bringing some home.

This restaurant used to be lovely a few years back but since it has switched hands, what a shambles. We have dined in twice, both times have been poor with the staff forgetting items. Inside the restaurant has changed as well, you no longer see smartly dressed waiting on staff, but the staff now just wear their casual jogging pants with branded t-shirts hanging out. We noticed that the main boss was often telling off the younger ones. Also, when we dined in one time, they were letting their own children just run around the place. Awful. I recently went for a take away and yes it was New Years Eve but I had phoned it in earlier that day to be ready for a certain time… and it wasn’t. When I arrived the queue was out the door with people who had done the same and were still waiting, even though their pick up time was before mine. There was NO order. People were pushing by to get to the restaurant, they didn’t bother separating the ones who had already ordered from the ones who wanted to place an order. Surely two rows would have been better and dealt with quicker. They didn’t care, everyone was stood outside in the rain. The order was 25 minutes late. I had told another restaurant I was picking up a take away at a certain time and the fact that Jade Village were late messed up the whole nights plans. The food itself was also very poor… the fact they were rushing this night showed in the quality in the food. Also glancing over to the restaurant you could see the manager shouting at the younger (messily dressed) staff. I definitely wouldn’t want to see that if I was dining in!! I keep saying I won’t come again, but this time I mean it. Also last time we dined in, they had sellotaped A4 pieces of paper to the walls near each table with the numbers (for the staff) and it’s only a small restaurant so this shows how “professional” they are. It just looks tacky now. Especially if you sit in the room up the ramp. Stay away!

Wow, best takeaway in a long long while. I would even say I would probably travel to Jade Village next time we want a takeaway (we live around 35 minutes away but were staying locally the night we picked up the takeaway)

My wife picked up a takeaway for dinner. I asked sweet and sour chicken when I opened the container all the chicken was welded together and was overcooked and dry,what sauce there was lay in the bottom of the container not even coating the chicken. We ordered side dishes which one was sticky spare ribs I think.The container consisted of 5 ribs resting on a small amount of runny syrup and the ribs were overcooked and dry..What has happened to this restaurant and its takeout meals they always used to be very good. Will definitely not be using this restaurant again in the future.

Ordered a takeaway from here, the service was so fast, friendly staff and the food was amazing. We had the beef curry and a special chowmein, the best around. From ordering my food go collection took around 10 minutes, fantastic place

We dined here for a family gathering, we were separated on 2 tables, one of our tables was forgotten, we waited a very long time for our food approx 1 hour! Even when asked, there was no sign, people that arrived after us had their meals before our table!. I have to say on the positive the food was lovely but the service was extremely poor, this has happened on two occasions now so won't be returning

I have been here before, some years ago. Booked a table and we arrived and were promptly taken to our table, the staff were very efficient and polite. Three of us ordered the banquet, I had the hot and our soup, one of my all time favourite, just wished I could make it. Then came the starters, loved it, but I always avoid the seaweed, its always difficult to eat, but the rest was brilliant, The duck came and I asked for the hot chili sauce, which they provided, loved it. Main course, was lovely, I loved the peppered beef, the only issue was that there was simply too much food and most of it we took home. I must admit, I did have the banana fritters, too good to miss. Confession, I have been to mainland China and am able to say the odd word in Cantonese , but never enough to have any conversation. Where I live there are very few Chinese restaurants, they have either closed or only offer takeaways. I’m am back in late September and will make an effort to visit and sample the food again… Well done..

Popular. Needed a change from mega hot Indian that I find difficulty eating. Fish suppers and the like seem to a thing only our grandparents remember before prices went stupid. A bit too much on the plate. I don't like leaving food behind. Taste ok. Main thing was meet up with family. Young servers didn't quite understand everything I said outside of the menu. Owners didn't know if it was OK to park outside without paying or not since I assumed it was part of the resteraunts property. It isn't. Just so you know.

Take away Chinese food to an excellent standard. Barbacue spare ribs, meaty, tender, generous portion, very tasty. Sweet and sour king prawn, delicious. Fried beef ,bamboo shoots and water chestnuts, tasty and delicious. It was pretty busy on a Friday evening, and having eaten their delicously tasty food served promptly and professionally, I can see why. Many thanks 😊

Great food, fast service and lovely staff. Food was all worth the price, we got starters, a main dish each and split a rice and chow mien between the 3 of us and it was plenty to eat and felt very full afterwards! would definitely recommend as it is one of the nicest chinese restaurants in the area

Best Chinese food provider in the area, for dining and take-away. Slightly on the higher end price wise but the quality and quantity of food is definitely worth it. It is well worth the drive from Pwllheli area on a Friday night to get food from here. We have never had to book but usually eat at varying times - would recommend booking just to ensure you have a table on busy nights.

I hadn’t been here in years and decided to go with family, the meal was beautiful, fresh and plenty to eat, the staff where very pleasant and accommodating, won’t leave it so long next time.

Had the full duck to share between 4 and the starter combo (ribs to die for) this was brilliant and a great sharing combo. However, we ordered the chow mein which is a classic and it was so plain and had that glossy sauce on it to make it shiny which tasted of nothing. Had to throw away.

Went for a staff night out. 16 of us. The owner recognised me as soon as I went in, I had arrived earlier than my colleagues. Wonderful service. The food was amazing and we had a great evening. Very attentive staff. It was as though nothing was too much trouble. It's great for couples and families as well. Be back soon.

I visited here with my family, had an amazing experience with the set menu B had so much food and was able to change some of the dishes to my liking the portion was really big and I ended up taking some food home. The staff were really attentive and really looked after us. I highly recommend eating here and booking to avoid disappointment on weekends. Keep up the good work.

A very cold and inhospitable restaurant where the staff were unfriendly with little or no engagement with us as customers. Stark and very grimy surroundings which haven’t been updated in years. Food was just okay and, in our view, very over-priced for what we had. Very bland in taste and all served on cold plates. When compared with the other meals we have had on our holiday simply cannot be compared or recommended.

Since retirement 25 years ago, we spend All the summer at Glan Conwy at our Caravan. Always eat at least once a week at the Jade Village taking advantage of the wonderful special lunch on offer. Superb food, never varies.

One of the nicest Chinese meals I've ever had!

Nice food, great service however they have a fish tank at the entrance and it is so sad! The tank is completely empty, absolutely nothing in there to entertain them ( no gravel, toys ect)

Went for food for my mums birthday, food was nice, very busy place to eat in and takeaways. At the end before we left they surprised her with a sorbet and candle and played happy birthday.

Second visit and again delighted by choice, quality and value for money. Recommended

Check your bill and change before you leave, it"s very important because you have no comebacks once you have gone outside .

Booked a table last minute on a Thursday night before Xmas and had not visited for a few years but was not disappointed. Very busy and were offered a choice of 2 tables- opted for the conservatory. Excellent service and very tasty food, fillet steak rolls as one of our starters which was a new one for us (very tasty and had a kick to it) Mains again very tasty and plenty of it, will definitely call again.

We wanted to try jade village as heard lots about it. The food prices were expensive for what you got the staff were lovely but I hated being watched whilst I eat as every 2 minutes a older Chinese gentleman kept walking to the table look at us then walk away it was like they wanted us to finish quickly and get out The food wasn’t the best one of the party had sweet sour and sauce tasted like tomato ketchup the sharing combination plater had so much honey drizzled on it couldn’t taste the food the rice we order 5 potty and wasn’t enough to feed 5 very young kids let alone 4 adults and a teenager. Don’t think we will be returning shame as in a lovely location

The food was nice but the takeaway menu prices are £5 more cheaper than the sit in menu …….how can that be ??? The set meat for 2 is £28 the sit in set meal for 2 is £26 per head that is crazy . The same food is still being cooked the difference is if it put on a plate and you eat in is a lot more expensive Or you order it to takeaway and it’s £5 cheaper .

A delicious meal with lovely staff and very good service. Had a banquet meal and everyone enjoyed it. It was very busy on a Saturday evening but we could not fault the food, I would definitely recommend.

Food was good but a bit on the pricey side but most places are expensive nowadays. Not too long a wait for food once we'd ordered. What let's it down is the decor, it's probably been the same for the last 20 years so could definitely do with being modernised.

I have been a regular at this takeaway for many years. However, the last two orders have let them down. Price is 25% more- that is in line with what's going on everywhere. However, the food quality has deteriorated significantly - skimping on almost meatless ribs (used to be lovely) and no visible evidence of chicken in soup (again - it used to be very good). Pretty tasteless food. Won't be returning.

We were really looking forward to our family meal here, but we’re very disappointed , firstly when we arrived we were shown to our table which we had to squeeze past other chairs to get to. Then after waiting for 15 minutes for someone to come and take a drinks order we had to ask someone to take our order. Another 20 minutes of sat waiting for drinks. After putting in our food order we waited another 20 minutes for the starters to come out. In the mean time we had ordered more drinks which were delivered by a lady chewing gum, the food is over priced , the service is shocking and the staff need training. The girl who brought our plates was reaching across the table to put the plates down instead of walking round the table to put them in front of us. The staff are not attentive and are rude and we will never be back.

Having experienced the jam packed eateries in town, each with similar fayre with chips for lunch and dinner, we yearned for something different. So we headed to The Jade Village, by the bridge in Menai, 5 mins away. We hadn't booked so we were relieved to be accommodated. Service and the food were faultless. The meals were hot, tasty, and authentic Chinese cookery which we thoroughly enjoyed. Parking outside is a bonus.

We came as a walk in and not a problem for a table of 4. Lots of people waiting for take away orders in reception which was a good sign. Staff were efficient and polite. Food came quickly and was delicious. My children had the chow mein (noodles) and I had crispy beef and my partner had the chicken with pickled ginger and pineapple. Good sized portions and reasonably priced. I would definitely come here again. We parked in the car park for 2 hours at £1.50. We had half an hour to spare and walked down the path to Church Island and had an explore in the church yard and took in the views. Lovely place!

The manager if he is that needs retraining, he’s not personable, rude, abrupt and 3 times we had to ask for cutlery I’m not sure what he doing but makes himself look busy. Other staff are lovely and food was nice but took over 1.5 hrs to get to the table we asked twice how long it would be. Parking is easy. The carpet had snail trails around the outside near table 9 does need a good clean

We popped in after our walk instead of our usual lunch stop, the Anglesey Arms, we decided to try the Jade Village. beautiful restaurant, friendly staff. Offered the set lunch menu £13-50. Chicken and sweetcorn soup. A little bland but passable. Followed by Spring Rolls. I picked the sweet & sour pork, egg fried rice. Absolutely beautiful, very tasty. My wife went for the Chicken Cantonese which was also delicious. We even paid extra for a dessert, pineapple fritter & ice cream, wife had lychee. We will certainly be returning on our next visit to Menai Bridge

Came along with friends for an 80th birthday dinner. Friendly and attentive staff, a good menu and reasonably priced drinks. We opted for 3 x buffet platters plus a couple of extra dishes (this was for 4 of us) and suggested we might order more if not enough - well, it was MORE than enough and in fact we took a doggy bag home. Really delicious and tasty food, and the best banana fritters EVER. Really lovely evening!

As soon as we arrived there was one of the staff manager or whatever he was just destroyed the evening with his attitude for all 15 of us rest of the staff were excellent

Went after climbing Snowdon to refuel and it was amazing. Great portion sizes and really good prawn toast, nice and thick and tasted great. Same with chicken Yuk Sung, great food!

Very good Chinese food, that has a lot of variety, quality and for a really good price. We ordered for takeaway for 5 people, and they had all the food nicely packed in a big box, so it was very easy to carry. We ordered many different dishes, including some sharing menus, and every dish was excellent.

Nice chineese to eat in or take away

We were there with other friends. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I and my husband ordered the chicken in blackbean sauce which was excellent. I had the Flake icecream dessert which was delicious. What spoiled the night? A group of about 20 people there celebrating! The noise they made was unbelievable! I'm all for people enjoying their celebrations but they really were OTT! If i go again I will ask the restaurant in advance if they have any big groups there! These people spoiled our night out.

We were 2 family 4 adults and 5 Kids booked promptly via Facebook message. Foods were served quickly and what an amazing Cantonese food. This is the best Chinese food I have enjoyed and atmosphere was so nice. Topped up our perfect holiday with Dinner on our last day in Wales. Definitely recommend you to visit and thank you for great service.

Very busy, very difficult to keep track of everything one has ordered especially with a party of 12 etc.

First time visitor to Angelsey. Jade Village is a short walk, about 100m, if that, from the hotel that I was staying. The food was fantastic, very tasty. Service great and all staff very friendly. Will definitely be visiting again when next on the island.
