Dined out on may 3rd around 8pm and had a wonderful meal and lovely service! Good price for the quality, and lovely polite and kind staff. Was a really nice time out! No wait for a table and food came out fast.

I had an amazing dining experience at Y Cerrig Glas! From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was inviting and cozy, with a lovely mix of traditional pub charm and modern touches. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home throughout our meal. The food was exceptional – every dish was made from high-quality, fresh ingredients. The menu had a great variety of options, and it was hard to choose! I went for the steak and it was cooked perfectly, tender and full of flavour. Definitely a place to enjoy delicious, hearty meals. The setting is ideal for both a casual night out and a special occasion. Great service, great food, and a wonderful atmosphere – I’ll definitely be coming back! Waiting staff were moody, food took over 50 minutes for what I would consider simple meals(burgers). Burgers were dry and overcooked, other meals OK.

Beth and Alan were really friendly and approachable. They were funny and made us feel comfortable even when it was busy around the bar.

Grandchildren choose y cerrig glas as its there favourite place to eat as the staff are nice.

Had been visiting my uncle in hospital, we stopped off to get some food before a 2 hr drive home. It was a Monday at 16.30. Place lovely and clean and we were greeted by a lovely lady! We were told our table number but not shown to it! Ordering food was a challenge. She was clearly inexperienced but never the less the order was finally done. There were 5 of us! The food arrived in drips and drabs, we had ordered steak, the pie deal, loaded katsu chicken fries, loaded chilli fries and chilli nachos as mains. When arrived they brought us 2 chilli fries instead of the nachos. When we explained we ordered 1 lot of nachos instead of loaded fries we were looked at as if we were aliens. He was non verbal until we asked for it to go back then he replied with ‘I’m just hear to bring it out’ not what you’d want a member your staff to be like I can imagine. The loaded chilli fries were cold so they were also returned and we heard a loud frustrated yell from the kitchen. As you can gather this was scary and un professional. The chilli fries were brought back and had clearly just been put in an oven to reheat up. The jalapeños were wrinkled and the kidney beans had burst open. I was too afraid to complain again due to the last reaction from staff. My relatives enjoyed their meals, the pie was hot and steak cooked to preference. I don’t think we will return.

Very pleased with everything this evening. Great food, excellent value for money. Good gluten free menu. Brilliant customer service and a special mention for Beth, who went the extra mile to look after us and ensure everything was spot on.

Food availability not great, didn’t have most of the foods we asked for, didn’t have milk to be able to have a coffee, no ingredients to make a mocktail

Had an amazing night with Tony and Beth's service made me and my date very welcome with a smile and a laugh everytime we interacted with them the food was amazing even with my specialist diet requirements would definitely recommend eating here if your in the area thank you for such a great night

Shocking.. Came here 3 years ago and was great, came today and I will not be coming back. Staff were swearing and didn't even check if we was happy with our meal or if we needed anything. My gammon was burnt, chips were soggy, my peas were dry, pineapple was full of fat, egg will no comment on it. The best bit was my grilled tomato but even that was tasteless. Plate full of grease..

Great value for money food especially when they have offers on

Wonderful time had here. Visited as a family of four and there was a great choice for everyone. Kids really enjoyed their meals and the whole place was warm and inviting. Staff were welcoming and friendly and really made our visit. We are looking forward to returning next time we are in the area

Not enough staff working . No one behind the bar . People waiting to be served and getting angry when they weren’t . Tense atmosphere . 2 staff who were working were running around trying to maintain some semblance of service !

We visited on Mother day evening, despite it being a very busy day in this venue all staff made us feel welcome and valued. They all worked extremely hard while we were there and despite being busy food and drink came out in a timely manor. The team at this site are a real credit to your company.

Mothering Sunday, beautiful food including a Sunday roast which had fresh vegetables. There was optimism before we arrived as we knew it would be busy. In past visits during busy times, food quality and service had dropped, not today though. Only thing I can fault is I like pouring cream, non available! Personal taste I know, but the apple crumble was overflowing with sugar, there was no tarte and sugar balance.

Went as there was an offer on. I will say it is great that you can now order and use a discount code online from your table and order directly. The food was delivered quickly and was very pleasant and tasty. All round good experience, will certainly visit again

Really hit or miss with both service and food quality. My most recent venture to this chain was really disappointing. Yes the place was slightly busier than usual but it wasn’t rammed. The service reflected inexperienced or unmotivated staff. I ordered the roast chicken and it was super dry. Nobody asked how my meal was and I couldn’t be bothered to go out of my way to make a complaint and embarrass my girlfriend. Really off putting with the chicken as sometimes it’s incredible but the inconsistency is a big turn off for a chain restaurant. Disappointing

Ordered food across 3 transactions, including starters. Starters didn't turn up at all, it came out piecemeal, so 2 of us had basically eaten our meals before any food came out. The server was unaware of the location of our table and was walking around before finding us. Salad was unwashed and was obviously old and past best, both burger and steak was dry and well over done. We also ordered items 3 times, for a server to come over and tell us that it wasn't available and we had to change the order. We witnessed other tables walk in and order after us, being served before us. We had guests visiting and thought this place was a good option as we've been in before. Won't be coming back again after this meal, very very disappointed. Had to ask for refunds on 2 meals.

Food was good. But service was off. Waiting at the bar. Staff member facing me but on the laptop. Didn't look up and say I'll just be a minute. They just ignored me. Then same happened again with two at the coffee machine. One was making coffee the other just stood to watch. Acknowledge the customer would make a huge difference.

Always had a lovely meal. The one time my chicken was a bit over cooked (very overcooked) they were so apologetic and replaced it straight away. Love tge meals here and so reasonable

Marsdens cerrig Y glass staff are amazing helpful even supplied us with crayons and coloring book along with good food and banter with Beth and Gina the manager I highly recommend .. last order for food is at 8:30 so get your orders in quick 🤣

The staff where welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious and cooked perfectly to our liking. The atmosphere was chilled and felt like there was no rush to vacate our table. All in all a very enjoyable evening to celebrate my son's birthday

We have been here over 100 times over the last 7yrs for most family occasions always been met with friendly staff and mostly good food (quality has been going down but staff made up for it) We will never return again your assistant manager(I've not met her before) had a problem with me from the start she said you have never done tabs I've always paid at the end of our meals especially as there are normally 10 plus people so this was a lie she said I was wrong and I've never had a tab, the children's meals were OK there were 7 as my daughters birthday but the starter chicken wings were not great the chicken nuggets are different not great, didn't ask for discount as it was eaten, the desserts were great simple and good value. My sons indian onion bar were burnt but again he still ate them just put it down to bad experience don't ask for refunds as this just looks like your trying to get out of paying, my friends nachos were awful she didn't finish them at all and we the adults did not order food after the starters my Sons big burger was OK came with cheese thou even thou I said no cheese or sauce, the staff have changed too not friendly didn't help me with the 11 pints of Pepsi Max I have MS and I struggle to walk so didn't order anymore drinks we haven't got out much in the last 7months as I've been in hospital so this was a celebration that I'm out and about again, it's ashame it's gone downhill so much, the staff could have saved the mediocre food but they should not be in customer service it was like I had done something wrong by asking for a tab and being called a liar ever thou we have done it 100times before. But the 3 cheese things I had were superb but was better before with the chilli sauce not the bbq but was still really good, children 8 of them had, starter, main and pudding, 1 adult had starter and main, I just had a starter and we all had 1 large Pepsi max just because I didn't want to go up to the empty bar where 3 staff were serving a handful of tables it wasn't busy at 4 when we got there where someone could have helped me with our drinks. Sad it's the end for us coming here

First time I have ordered from the table using phone. Easy enough, but I did find the lack of human interaction odd. Text confirmation of order placed would be better than email imho. Food was good, service was pretty quick.

After visiting a few times for lunch or just a coffee , we asked about Sunday lunch and Leon was very helpful and said it was fantastic, true to his words it was and will definitely be back again. Quick service and all staff were very attentive and friendly.

I’m vegan and always have the salad with buffalo wings with a side of vegan strips I really enjoy this. However there is little choice anyway. Disappointingly. There were no Sunday lunches at 4 pm. However I guess lunchtime is over by then? The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Was about ok for food. Service was apparently non about. Short staff. We requested extra gravy and they had either forgot or couldn't be bothered to get us some. The front of house was only interested in getting people sat. The listening skills of these staff is shocking. We went to ask about the extra gravy with another staff member and that person didn't know anything about the extra gravy. We had informed 3 individual staff people to ask for gravy and where it had got to. Soon as we thought we were and made that decision to giving up to find it.

Update Dec 2024: Excruciatingly slow service and not welcoming- had to walk out as nobody was behind the bar for at least 10 minutes. I asked for someone to come and still nobody did. Yes, they may have been busy somewhere, but it's terrible to leave customers at the bar that long an apology would have helped from the lad I spoke to. Awful- I thought I'd give it a 2nd chance a few years apart, but still terrible service. £5.80 a Peroni- you can keep it! You can get a pint for £2 cheaper at any pub up the road. Food isn't all that either!

Booked for the 3 course festive menu and the food was absolutely delicious, couldn't fault anything. The staff we're also friendly and accommodating, especially as we had to make some slight last minute changes to our booking. Will definitely book again next year. Thankyou for a lovely evening.

The server was non-talkative and very non interactive. Food came out after a long time after the starter and had been sat on a hot plate for far too long as the food was dry. The majority of both meals have been left and when the plates were collected we were asked if there was a problem and we said yes. The reply was if you want to go to the bar and see if we can give you a free drink. We declined and left.. this is absolutely disgraceful.

What’s happening here? You used to serve a delicious salad with chicken & bacon topping but the past few times we’ve been with you, the chicken was completely dried out, also the bacon was very easy forgettable. The beer was undrinkable, very cloudy & Rancid. Very disappointed. Yet I’ve been with you many times before & we couldn’t fault you. We are really considering whether to return back to you.

This is our local restaurant, and we have always been here when visiting family, before we moved here permanently. The booking system was really easy to use to book our time slot, it’s really helpful that they provide a text to confirm your table. We have always found that the staff here are all very friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food came quickly and it was very tasty, great flavour and nicely cooked to perfection. A great selection of food and drinks available and plenty of tables, so no need to worry about getting a table. We’ve always visited on a weekday, so can’t comment on weekends. The bar staff are great to chat too and have good banter, which I feel makes the place feel more welcoming. Always good to have some good conversations. The prices are really good for the quality of food and better than other restaurants that we’ve been to over the years. We would definitely recommend Carrig Glas for your special occasion or with family and friends for a good meal out. Thank you all, carry on the good work and thanks again.

I don't like to leave negative reviews so this one is a neutral one based on personal experience. Yours may differ. My wife and I went for a date night and yes it was a Friday but early. She had the steak and I had the hunters chicken. Her steak was cold and overcooked. I think they forgotten about it and it sat waiting for a food runner. It took forever to get the food and when it arrived it was not good. To put it into perspective we could of had three drinks before it arrived and then when we wanted to say something it also took forever for a server to come over unless we flagged someone down. The young guy when we told him looked like a deer in headlights. My meal was done but hers since it was cold and tuff we just didn't want it and thus sent if back with no worries to remake since I was done. The guy never came back nor did any one come to our table at all and we sat there for quite a while disappointed. No one came to ask us how was our meal or anything, nothing at all. We just got up paid the full bill and left to mark this place off as not again. Shame as we did like this place and did like the guy who greets ya but on this day he wasn't there. Our date night experience here was a little more than 2 hours and it was all waiting for the food then waiting for anyone. it wasn't like we were not in a non noticeable spot but by the front near the bar. I think they dropped the ball for food runners and or servers. They could of made good money on more drinks and or desserts buy asking how our meal was but no one came over to our table. I would have definitely ordered more drinks but was just disappointed and frustrated in the situation. We also sent a support email to the parent company website to help raise the bar but never heard back. Shame as it was a nice place.

We eat there about 3 times per month at about 1200 .It was nice and warm on a very wet day and quite busy. As usual the staff were bright and friendly, the service was prompt and the meal was excellent both in quality and taste. Great value at £20 for two.

This place would be much better if the food quality was much higher, as unfortunately the quality in food just isn't there.
