XO Cafe in Newham

This is the second time I go to this place and I will never come back. Super rude service, they don't look at you, they barely speak, it feels awful. Quite a miracle they still have customers with such dreadful service.

Very nice shop with amazingly rude staff. They don't even wear face covering.

Terrible service...maybe unless you’re white? My wife and I had a terrible experience (Saturday morning). The person taking orders was very unfriendly to us and demonstrated not just poor customer service, but a level of animosity, maybe even racism. We made an order that we were informed would take 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, the order wasn’t ready and the person taking orders didn’t seem to care. When asked about the order being late, she casually inquired from the kitchen. We were informed that the order would take even longer and since we were in a rush, we had to cancel the order. It was a waste of our time - our first and last trip there.

Not bad for a local spot to meet for a coffee or anything else drinkwise you might fancy. Few things on the menu to eat, needs a bit more variety though. Staff could be a little bit more friendlier, faces always sour, smile once in a while it goes a long way!

Not a big selection of food but ok

This is not only a cafe, as the name might suggest, but an extremely well stocked Eastern European (mostly Lithuanian and Polish) food shop as well. They also seem to have some beers on tap and a decent selection of wine. If you crave some home food that is the place to go! I would give it five stars for a great selection of produce, unfortunately as it’s usually the case in Eastern European businesses the staff are totally uninterested and dismissive of customers. Oh well ;-)
