Wu's family in Stevenage

This best not thought of as a restaurant but rather a loud noisy room attached to a takeaway. Food very average, super noisy as room tiles so everything echos. Patron vaping as they eat. You get what you pay for, mains are about £7

Went here for my birthday with family, it was a weekday so as usual the takeaway was busy but as dining in this did not take away anything from the experience. We were served by a lovely lady called Claire (apologies if I have spelt your name wrong)who made my evening. She was attentive to us and really made everybody at the table feel comfortable and welcome. We ordered a variety of dishes (all of which were spot on and included some traditional style alongside western favourites) and the portion sizes were very generous. They were all delicious and the food we couldn’t eat we were able to take home. Very reasonably priced and highly recommended if you have never visited before.

Where do I start? The food was very 'average', but plenty of it. That's the best bit.... The service was diabolical - very under staffed. We had booked and it was clear that the take away service, that never seemed to stop, was the high priority for the business; eat in diners were a very poor second place. It took an age for the drink order to be taken and over half an hour for starters to appear, and that was only after we said we'd pay for the drinks and leave. The staff were apologetic for the delays, but at the end of the day, they definitely serve the take away orders ahead of the booked diners. The restaurant was very austere, totally lacking atmosphere and physically cold to sit in. Overall, such a disappointment and we will not be back.

Good size portions, lovely tasty dishes. Very fresh tasting. The quality of the food was excellent, the quantity very plentiful and the price very reasonable and Lovely food hot fresh and not to greasy.

There seemed to be mainly takeaways being made in the busy kitchen with a few diners in the restaurant, which is large and a little soulless, the back half towards the toilets seems like a bit of a storage area. The food came quickly and was good - not amazing but very solid Chinese and the price was excellent.

I have visited this restaurant multiple times whilst on business in Stevenage and have never had a bad meal. It’s cost competitive in what they charge, food is always served piping hot and good portion size too so it all makes for a decent meal experience.

Delivery driver was extremely rude & obnoxious, driving the wrong way around a one way island in the street, nearly causing an accident! Incredibly disrespectful & full of arrogance. Shocking behaviour.

We usually get takeaways from Wu's, but I had the chance to dine there in person prior to meeting friends for a drink. I was pleased to see several apparently ethnically East Asian families dining there when I went in; usually an indication of authentic Chinese cuisine. It was lunchtime and I was offered the set lunch menu; this looked interesting and good value, but I already had an idea what I fancied, so ordered a la carte. I began with Chicken Satay sticks (which IS on the Set Menu, ) This was moist and very tasty, although probably better if sharing, as it's a good sixed portion. For Main, I ordered spicy Kung Po Chicken with a portion of Singapore Vermicelli Noodles. The chicken was, again, nicely cooked and reasonably spiced, whilst the noodles, which could serve as a meal in themselves, were well-seasoned and contained good range of meats and prawns. The service was attentive, without becoming intrusive (I was asked, after my starter, if I was ready for them to prepare the Mains). I was too full for a dessert, so left satisfied. The restaurant looked clean, the service was friendly and the food was very good. We will continue to order Takeaways and dine there in person when we can; I would definitely recommend WU's Family restaurant. PS. I would recommend the Mongolian Chicken from the Starters Menu; salty and spicy, this could easily serve as a main.

Have previously dined at this establishment and the meals were mediocre. However on my recent visit this restaurant has declined in their presentation of meals/taste and customer service. Not recommended !!!

I ate in here tonight after reading the great reviews and the food is great really fast, fresh, tasty and prompt staff, first impressions when you enter is not a flash restaurant but it s plain simple decor and tables etc but it is great food and really good value, I will visit here again for sure

Last Wednesday we ordered a family takeaway from here and asked them to deliver to us in Symonds Green. The Oder was prepared promptly and delivered quickly. It came to around £50 something so i counted out what I thought was £55 to give the delivery guy. My son in law paid and we sat to eat. A few minutes later there was a knock at the door and the delivery guy returned with a £20 note in his hand. I’d given 75 not 55. We gave him a £5 tip for being so honest. Nice people. Nice food.

Have dined at Wu's Family on numerous occasions since Mavis and Paul took over and has completely transformed the restaurant. The a la carte menu is second to none, wonderful staff whom are friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Well done to the management of Wu's Family.

Mavis provided a fantastic service lovely lunch set menu best Chinese restaurant in Stevenage ! The food come so hot and veryvfresh.

The food in my opinion was lovely but a little expensive for the size of the portion and the service was excellent we were well looked after and the food arrived very hot and quite quick compared to other places we eaten

We always get out Chinese takeaway from Wu’s. The food is always so fresh and hot and very reasonable delivery times. Really delicious food! Highly recommend.

We tried here this Saturday and were not disappointed. It’s fresh tasty good and reasonable. For starters we had the mixed starters, the prawn toast were nice, the spare ribs superb, the pancake rolls tasty. Some shared Hong Kong style sweet and sour and chicken with cashews whereas I had chicken with bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and red chilli. The vegetables looked so fresh and were really tasty. The red chilli looked freshly chopped and carried a ‘kick’. It was hot and on time and delivered via Let’s Eat.

Tried for the first time as takeaway (only option in tier 4) and will definitely return to support this business. Excellent quality ingredients, very tasty, good portions and fair price. Thanks for working so hard in these difficult times to give us a brilliant meal at home.

First takeaway from here and it was delicious. The prawn starter we had was scrumptious. Arrived hot and on time.

I’m originally from Australia and I grew up eating really delicious Chinese food. Since I’ve been living in the UK the only good Chinese I have found has been in Chinatown in London. But Wu’s Family’s food is INCREDIBLE! Better than in Chinatown. I love the King Prawn with mixed vegetables, sweet and sour chicken and prawn wan ton soup. This is by far the best Chinese food I’ve had in the UK and very reasonably priced as well. Thank you Wu’s Family for being my favourite restaurant!!!

We can't get enough of the food from Wus family! Every order is tasty, High quality and hot! Just delicious! Our favourites are the vermicelli noodles, pork dumplings and won ton soup 🥟🥟🥟🥟
