Got an order last night and the chicken balls were still pink in the middle

Picked up a cheeky takeaway after work tonight Wish on the whole I hadn't bothered. Not my scene, very generic

Wow I’m highly impressed with this place. Thought people were exaggerating but this place is 10/10. I’m really fussy when it comes to ordering take away but this place exceeded my expectations. Will be ordering again :) cheers guys.

Usually a good experience. Food is good. However, if you're going to change the opening times and the "rules" about card payment etc, please reflect this on your website so customers know what to expect.

Ordered five spiced spare ribs - used to have them when I lived in the area about 20 years ago and they were delicious - and they still are! Not as many greens but still lovely. Also ordered the crispy aromatic duck which was also great! But the chicken curry and the chicken chow mein, my goodness - clearly straight out of the freezer and microwaved. Really disappointed that they made an effort with some dishes and none with others.

We've been looking for a decent chinese takeaway for over a year after moving to the area. 10 out of 10. We finally found our regular. Thank you!

I think this is the best Chinese takeaway in town. Good for price and portion size, never had bad food and it's always very busy!

After a fair few recommendations we tried Jade Garden.. my Hong Kong chicken was inedible the chicken was tough and super chewy and with a very bland sauce. The chow mein chicken was also strange had to spit out some pieces of meat!

Everything was lovely and fresh!! 8/10 ..rice wasn’t fried .. it should be come on bih

This was my first time going here and the food was very good. The boiled rice wasn't impressive, but not bad by any means. Decent price and good portion size too. Will definitely be going again

Decades ago I always used Jade Garden for our Chinese food. Then after a period when we just didn't buy take aways, we were introduced to another place. Their food was good and reasonably priced. It's still good but most definitely not reasonably priced. Jade Garden food is excellent, service is good, and prices are fair, especially given the quality. I recommended Jade Garden to friends and they said "Best they'd ever tasted!" No need to say more.

There was absolutely no beef in this dish all it was was a hardened batter in red sweet sauce. Other dishes i the he ordered were better but not great. Will not be ordering from here again.

Really disappointing this time round

Lovely food as always its a shame my delivery took an hour I've just received it and it's cold!!

Hot tasty food. Good prices. I telephone order so ready when I get there to collect. Visited again last weekend all still as above. Was glad to see all staff including chefs wearing face masks.

This was a superb meal. I ordered 7 different dishes, all were hot, delicious and well presented. It came within the time slot I chose. Highly recommended. A very enjoyable meal xxx

I have always had takeaways from Jade Garden, but last night's was the best. My friend had the beef curry and I had the shrimp curry....wow it was fab & well worth the wait. Thank you

They make a brilliant Singapore Chow Mein

This has to be the worse Chinese takeaway that I have ever had, by far. The vegatable Singapore rice noddles was inedible as the only flavouring used was a heap of strong curry powder (after ordering mild spices) and the vegetables were hard to find. I had to take it back and got my money back. Truly, this has been the worst takeaway ever!!!

Says their open Sunday’s, but no answer...

During lockdown all I could think about was a chinese take away ( I was persistent and called 28 times) I got through!! I was told delivery time was 2.5hrs... normally I’d pass but I waited! What I wait, I could have eaten my right arm but boy was it worth it. The delivery guy came wearing gloves and a ‘Micheal Jackson’ mask! The FOOD was AMAZING! Hats off and a huge thank you, you made my Saturday normal! #lovechinese

Absolutely shocking food! First and last visit from me. I wouldn't feed my dog the food they gave us.

The food just wasn't nice, it was my first time grabbing a takeaway from here and unfortunately it'll be my last. My kids absolutely love chinese food but they couldn't eat this. One of my kids in particular loves chow mein and will eat a whole portion himself if given the opportunity but he actually spat them out and refused to eat anymore. The only chinese worth going to is old town Chinese and we won't be going anywhere else from now on.

First time ordered on Christmas Eve, everything was lovely very happy with my order and will now be my go to chinese take away.

We thought we would try jade garden as our usual chinese is lucky star which is closed Tuesday. Wish we hadn't bothered I can honestly say it's the worst chinese I've ever had everything was over cooked badly. So if you use this place check your chicken balls ain't like bullets same with chips . I'd be ashamed to give that to any customer . Stay away at all costs and go to lucky star near pear tree pub never had a bad meal from there in years .

The sweet and sour chicken balls tasted like they had been reheated, were chewy and dry. The sauce was very vinagery. The chicken chow mien was the same, chicken was chewy and dry. The chicken with bamboo and mushrooms tasted fishy. We also had the chicken with cashews, tasted the same as the chicken with bamboo but with cashew nuts mixed in. Overall was awful. A complete waste of money.

Really good value for money. Our favourites are the chow mein and you get loads! Sweet and sour chicken was nice, beef in oyster sauce was good. Prawn crackers are good too. Had a few things, always seems to be decent. Never had the chips. Seem to cook things very quickly. I usually wait so not tried the delivery.

Really nice Chinese food. We had chicken balls, duck and pork chow mein, ribs, house rice, house noodles, and two spring rolls. Everything hot and tasted authentic. Really good value for money. Definitely one of the better takeaways in Stevenage. Not sure what went wrong on the negative reviews but our meal was lovely.

Absolutely disgusting food and vile customer service the lady was so rude when we called politely and said we aren’t happy with the food can we have a refund she said no then she said said you. Can’t have a refund because we have tried the food ! Of course we have tried the food this is how we knew it’s rank never Ordering again only ordered as our main Chinese was closed rude staff sort it out

Have now tried to order food for delivery on four separate occasions and they just take the phone off the hook when I drive to the shop the phone hardly rings I did eventually get through on one occasion to be told that there minimum order was now raised to £16 and had to order food I didn’t want to get it over this limit for delivery use another take away

I've been using this place for years without a problem. Over the past 3 months both me and my wife had upset stomach after eating from this place 3 times now. Last night was the last time I ever order from this place.

The most terrible Chinese in Stevenage. I have had food posioning since eating from here which was two nights ago. The chicken balls were undercooked and the chicken dish I also ordered had clearly been defrosted so this was left as it was. Never again

Our usual Chinese takeaway in Stevenage was closed so we diverted to the Jade garden, what a mistake to make, £26.00 down the drain. The Duck in the Duck & Pineapple was fatty, with a thick skin that was soft, not att crispy. Additionally I found a foreign body in mine, a piece of what looks like thin metal. The sweet and sour sauce was a thin runny sugary sauce, not in the least like sweet and sour. The chicken balls were overcooked and a dark brown colour so hard they were difficult to cut. The best item was the prawn crackers. I rang the shop to complain but they were not interested, the excuse was the owner speaks so little English he won't understand you. I contacted the local EHO's office this morning and I hope they carry out a visit. As for the Jade Garden, we won''t be going there again.

Food mostly good, but never had curry flavoured singapore noodles before, good job I like curry flavour.

I showed them all of it was boxed back up and they deducted £5 from the refund saying it was for the delivery drivers and the boss didnt want to refund it!...I will absolutely never order from them again and you will be crazy if you do or you will end up money down the drain and eating cereal like I am now 2 1/2 hours after I placed the order! Shocking food, shocking service.

The sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style was inedible. The dish seemed jelly like and not crisp; there was hardly any sweet and sour sauce as was the case last time we had a take away. The chicken in the special fried rice tasted stale and like it came from a supermarket packet. The 5 spice prawns had far too much batter and so did the chicken. The crispy duck was fairly good but the Hoi sin sauce seemed watered down. Wished we hadn't bothered to get this. A waste of money and calories.

Food is really good. The delivery is fast and the food is hot. The drivers are also nice. Its a good take away.

Have been using this takeaway only restaurant for 10 or 15 years once every two or three months. Has always been the best Chinese takeaway in the town to my knowledge. Lately they seem to have been slightly off their game, I think they may have a new chef, can anyone confirm? Good delivery service, they always seem very busy indeed.

Been going here for my chineses for 3 years now, never had a bad meal or service! I highly recommended her (: only chinese that actually does a spicey curry sauce!!!!

Good food. Service good and staff friendly. Last time we had a takeaway the chicken balls were over cooked so had to persuade my husband to go back again. Thank fully this time they were lovely. All good tasted hot and was fresh.

We tend to visit here regularly, normally on a sunday night. The food is always freshly cooked and the service friendly. Waiting times are reasonable and if necessary they do deliver.

Just take your time to cook it and drain it before u tip into the take away pots cold rice with hardly any egg

We are regular visitors to the Jade Garden for Sunday lunch. Incredible value for money, nice food and excellent service. I strongly recommend them.

My wife and I went to Jade lunchtime yesterday for there Buffet Lunch there was 2 adults with 2 children we went to where the buffet was and every dish was nearly empty. I spoke to the other male adult at the buffet and said not much on the table his reply was there was not much served up. I asked one of the servers to top up the food and after 5 mins one dish came out on a small plate this was 12.45 it opened at 11.00 and closes at 14.00 really not worth going there at lunch time. Never been there in the evening.

The food was quite good, but they messed up the order and when I rang back to let them know, the staff were very rude and wouldn't accept they had made a mistake.Mistakes,Attitude and rudeness means I wouldn't order from this restaurant again.

Waited over 2.5hours for meal when we were told an hour.... When I phoned and asked where it was the lady casually told me it would be another hour!! Avoid!! Night with family ruined!! No apology they could of rang to tell us of the delay or given us a gift card for future but no once I asked to cancel the meal she slammed the phone down!! Great customer service NOT!!

Love getting the odd takeaway from here...never had any problems and food is always delicious.My favourites are their Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style and Special Fried Rice.Highly recommended!

Managed to lose my wallet last night, the lovely staff at Jades had found it and contacted me to say they had it. Really very grateful to them. Turns out I left it there after ordering my take away. Really nice food too, thanks for being so honest and returning my wallet and credit cards etc to me :)

we love this place it's the best in Stevenage or so we think, the food is always fresh hot and plentiful occasional slip up but not surprised as they are always so busy. Staff friendly and always helpful I won't use any where else

This evening I 'treated' the family to a meal from Jade Gardens in Bedwell, Stevenage. After waiting about half hour my food was bought out and I left looking forward to eating it. However when I got home my order was wrong and I was missing an item. Rang to see if I could get the correct order delivered as one family member had no food. This seemed to be a problem for the staff there who were not interested in rectifying it. I spoke to 2 members of staff, was blamed for the order being wrong and then they only wanted to give a credit on my next order. Anyway eventually they said the food would be delivered about an hour later. The delivery finally arrived and I handed back the incorrect item and went to take delivery of my correct order only to be told the expected to receive a further payment from me!!! Needless to say I sent the delivery driver back with all the food! Disgusting I think! One family member didn't get food and a birthday dinner is ruined thank you jade gardens. The food I did consume was nearly inedible, I will not be going back there. Their ribs are like rocks on stick, the chips had been fried more than once and the king prawnballs resembled shrimps in a ton of batter!! Waste of nearly £30

Went with the wife on the 1st of October 2013. With a set price for as much as you can eat. Came away feeling happy and had a good meal
