Woodman in Rotherham

The pub was cold but the landlord did whatever he could to accommodate including giving hot water bottles to customers and was very polite and apologetic towards me and my family, I would 100% recommend this pub, excellent service.

Chloe served me at the bar and she made good chat and had a really lovely chat. Izzy served me and she was really nice and accommodating.

I visited here with my family for tea The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food arrived promptly and was very nice. The children's menu was great value. I will definitely recommend to family and friends and look forward to visiting again soon.

A great family place, food was great and service was pleasant, would highly recommend.

I never expect much from these places as there's only so much you can do with a microwave and a boiled bag, so I opted for the mixed grill expecting at least a freshly fried egg. 2 Sausages: One looked almost cremated the other barely cooked. Chicken: Looked like a dry poached egg and greyish in colour. Steak: Like rubber. Gammon: Edible. Chips: Tasteless and hollow. Peas: Like bullets. Egg: Freshly fried egg - with a solid yolk. All in all the worst pub meal I've ever had.

Once again great staff great food spotless well done all will be back

Came for nephews 30th . I had heard mixed reviews from people about food and service . Service i can’t fault but ordered food . Steak and ale pie was fine and mixed grill was ok a little over cooked on the gammon and chicken was a little dry . But for two chicken kebabs to come out on plates that were hot but for chicken on both kebabs to be cold and raw not good . Was quickly taken and returned with fresh this time cooked chicken .

Wish I could give 6 stars! My experience at the Woodman was outstanding. Place was spotless, food was great value for money and most importantly, delicious! Scott and his team went above and beyond in every aspect of the hospitality business. Our first time visiting but we now live at Woodlaithes so we will certainly return.

Good vibes, decently priced drinks, over priced food. We went on a quiz night, the food was dry, as if it's been left under a food lamp for a long while.

Excellent service, nice staff and all in all a great place/environment to be.

Staff wasn't friendly and it was too loud and messy

As a person who lives in the local area, The Woodman is the place to be! The atmosphere is amazing, as well as the staff and the food. The events that they also have on are fantastic for young and old, everyone is friendly and welcoming and it creates a great environment to be in.

Really good food and nice and relaxing place better if good from an app the website Marsden when ordered is a joke . Ordered drinks from marsden app and had a email to say they received order which did not arrive but still charged

The food was terrible. I ordered mixed grill and was so disappointed. The steak wasn't cooked to my liking and was bloody. The gammon fat was black and burnt. The peas were like bullets and there was no fried egg present. Although the staff were good and offered a partial refund and provided a fried egg, it has put me off coming again. My husband ordered Hunter's Chicken and his chicken was hard to cut.

Very nice food the pizza and chips were beautifully cooked and the J20 orange juice was very refreshing and delicious 🤤 and the popcorn chicken and the chicken strips were very tasty the only problem was the rocket salad 🥗 it came very greasy and not fresh enough for me I usually like to have fresh ingredients it’s not the best salad I’ve ever had I’ve seen better salad than that very poor service though as we asked for our starter first but they have given us the main course by mistake will not be returning here again but the food is very good so well done to the chefs who made it for me

Just had my retirement do here and it was amazing. The buffet was excellent n so much choice. Would highly recommended it!!!

Lovely meal really friendly staff

Scott has arranged breakfasts on a Saturday morning. It was cooked by Shaz the head chef, the breakfast was a large one and excellent, was value for money. All came out hot, laid out well on plate and comes with toast. Would recommend and saves cooking.

Tasty food but only a small portion of sausage and mash served on my husband's plate, expensive for the amount given. He was a little disappointed as it was for Father's day

I visited this pub earlier this year as the food was always good. Unfortunately we had not a great experience. So this weekend we thought we would give it another try. Disappointing again. We ordered our food only to be told 10mins after ordering one of the dishes had sold Out! I ordered another dish.unfortunately my friend's dish came out 10mins before mine so she had eaten hers before mine was even served.

Ordered the large burger and chips on Saturday, still waiting for the rest of it!! And I'm sorry I don't really want to call the pub. It should have been better in the first place.

Me and my husband nipped in here for a couple of drinks and some food the other day and to say the least it was an extremely pleasant experience. Staff were so lovely, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great! I’d recommend the woodman to anyone👍

Awful service, not busy inside for food so no excuse. Both children’s portions of scampi were tiny considering they are for bigger appetites and only contained 4 pieces instead of 6. Burgers overcooked, onion rings didn’t turn up until we had almost finished our meal. No apologies. Waitress looked miserable and clearly had no customer service training. Coke Zero served from a 2 litre bottle being passed off as Pepsi Max. We eat out a lot and haven’t been this disappointed with a meal for a long time.

Had my daughters first birthday at the woodman today and it was absolutely amazing the staff are so lovely and the food was great there was nothing that we asked for that was too much for Scot and his team would definitely recommend if you have any upcoming events!

We have been a few times in the past to the Woodman in Woodlaithes, and they haven't been the best experience. However, we visited today for a little date celebration, and it was wonderful! Everything down from the service to the food! The man behind the bar (Deputy Manager) was extremely welcoming and kind, we felt very taken care of. The food was really tasty, we had two Roast Dinners, and we'll definitely be coming back for more! Lovely & spacious place! Really nice atmosphere! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had booked a table 2 days before but no table ready on arrival. Long waits for service at the bar. Having said that 6 of us had a meal and we were all very pleased with the food.

We came as a group on 4th March, mixture of adults and children. We all enjoyed our meals, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the man, who I would say was in a management role, nothing was too much trouble.

Visited here with my family for a birthday meal. The service was fast and the food was really nice. There is a play area outside for the kids to go on if the weather is nice as well

We take our grandson to the Woodman when he comes to visit and he really enjoys it . Very family friendly oriented environment, with lovely staff and nice food . The inclusion of the dog friendly area is an amazing idea .... our bull dogs favourite venue x

Great staff, really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Turned up too early, Paul and Sylvia could have easily turned me away yet chose to welcome me and were really lovely. Would definitely recommend but maybe I'll come during opening hours next time!

Little bit of an hiccup on our order with the ultimate burgers and had to request a reorder, but I tell you what, the 2 that came out after were BANGIN! 2 Beautiful plates of food, and wonderful customer service regarding the whole matter.

Whilst previous visits to the Woodman last year we enjoyed, this time our lunch meal with friends and experience was very poor. Initially till/receipt issues, long delay before getting our food (despite very few people in), mix up and wrong dishes brought to the table at first, small and poor quality of food, had to ask for our table to be cleared and afters brought to us, puddings paid for then "not available", and in total it took over two and a half hours to have our meal. Not sure if it is due to change of owners or staff and supplier issues but sorry Woodman we wont be back.

Iv always enjoyed our food here , we even had Christmas Day lunch which was great , but today , waited 30mins for our mixed grills , when it came it was awfull , egg was burnt at the bottom , chips cooked too much & steak was full of fat , other people were complaining so I just left

Absolutely disastrous. Waiting 40 minutes for meal and it looked like it had been waiting to be served then forgotten about and then microwave

The tables were full of dirty plates, the staff were invisible, long queues at the bar.. staff miserable… customer service was absent.. Cheese on the floor.. On the whole I was VERY disappointed with service, atmosphere, attitude of staff, cleanliness of establishment. This is definitely NOT the standard that is acceptable please have an overhaul.. the establishment has so much potential.

Awful. Gone way down hill in recent months. No way did a qualified cook/chef prepare that food! Everything burnt. Total waste of money. I complained but had no replies. Even the management don't care.

Cracking night out, especially as it midweek. Fantastic quiz and great food. Can not wait to go back on Saturday for my birthday.

Why are The Woodman sending out 30% Vouchers on All Main Meals, then when you go to order a steak at bar turn you away and say you can't use voucher , when it states on voucher All Mains , so surley this is False Advertizing on Woodmans part, Why is this ?

Visit the woodman often friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and great food had the burger and drink 9.95 with apple crumble desert. Service was very good
