Lovely fresh fish a great size and well cooked. Nice crispy batter and a good portion of chips. The fishcake was also a good size and tasty. I would say they are good price as well. Would definitely call again 😊

These have to be the best fish and chips I have ever had, taste just like they should and cooked to perfection. I got a small portion but there was plenty for a lunchtime meal.

They went above and beyond to make me 20, Yorkshire fish cakes,an freeze them all(they made it back frozen, thank you,I'm a Yorkshire lass,now living in Devon they call a parsley cake a fish cake,they don't know what there missing,,well done can't wait to have one as they had sold out in the shop on the night I went in to order these

Lovely friendly shop. Staff are always pleasant and eager to please. A massive portion of chips could have fed 4 ppl easily, too many really. Obviously that would be a plus for some. Good fish.

Amazing best fish n chips I've had in a long time

Lovely Sausage, chips and gravy! And yes all the good reviews are true. Chips were freshly cooked and nicely crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, Sausage was tasty and the gravy spot on. Good value too. Rare to find a chippy open at 2pm - owner/server nice chap too. Will be back

It’s over an hour round trip but it’s worth it, best chippy in Leeds with no close second. The people that run it are lovely and always accommodate for my spaniel with a bowl of a water and sometimes a sausage. 10/10

Just had the most delicious fish and chips for tea. Lightly battered fish and tasty chips with a few scraps and mushy peas. Perfect. Lovely and friendly staff.

This fish shop sells the best fish & chips in Yorkshire and possibly beyond! They are definitely ‘traditional’, the chips are a lovely golden brown (not pale like some chippies) and the fish are to die for with lovely white flakes of fish and crispy batter. Andy and his staff are really friendly and the shop is always clean and inviting, I would highly recommend a visit to anyone - keep up the good work Andy! 😋

Got some chips for lunch. Been before and no issues. This time the chips were mix of old ones re-fried (really dry) and new ones that were cooked in old oil that made them taste off, I ended up chucking it out after tasting them I am certainly not returning anytime soon. Which is a shame because we've been before and it was good.

Really affordable tasty food, huge portions and friendly staff. A children's meal can easily feed an adult! They also have a garden with benches and tables behind the building.

I turned up near half 7 and they were pretty much closed. Even though they had started cleaning and emptying the fryers they still said they would serve me which I thought was nice. To top of the friendly staff we had really nice fish and chips. I will be returning again soon.

Having lived in allerton bywater for the past 22yrs I've seen lot's of different people run woodend fish shop ,but nobody has done such a superb job as Andy who runs it now ,so we'll done to you Andy 👍 the best fish 'n' chips, and excellent portion size none of the 50 chips for ya 2 quid this bloke give ya plenty 👍 superb fresh fish and friendly service from the girls .....

Well we're do I start with this place we've been going since we could firing the pandemic every Wednesday tea time Staff Andy chip fryer and owner great person nothing too much trouble The serving wench lovely lady can be sarcastic but in fun takes as good as she gives All in all excellent atmosphere the shop Now the food price excellent value Variety excellent and cooked to perfection and wrapped to maintain the j Heat in your choice. Only complaint wish we lived more locally

Where do we start…the fish was cooked to perfection: crisp, thick and flavoursome. Above average food came with above average prices, ‘you’ve gotta spend a bit more dosh to make yourself feel posh’. The crispy exterior of the sausage perfectly lived in harmony with the melt in the mouth meat, this was accommodated by a vast amount of beautifully cooked chips. Finally this was typified by the lushes lashes of the curry sauce. Would we come again? Yes

I've often riden past this gem of a fish shop whilst out on supported guided rides of the lines way. We arrived before opening time but the friendly staff opened up and fried us some chips to keep us going. Not only were the chips amazingly fried but the portions are huge and to top it off they have a suntrap yard with picnic tables. I'd highly recommend a stop off whilst riding through. I for one will definitely be stopping here again in the future.

Stopped off for a bit of lunch on a cycle from St Aidens, along the Lines and back to Temple Newsam. We got one fish and chips to share and it was more than enough. Freshly cooked and super tasty. Will definitely plan it in on another cycle ride.

Wow. Brown chips, a very rare sight from the fish and chip shops I have visited, always pale white chips and the time you get them home are like mashed potatoe.. Fish is spot on aswell also plenty of smiley faces from staff. Very good fish and chip takeaway...Its the only fish and chip shop we go to in the area...
