WOK STAR Fish & Chips, Chinese Takeaway in Manchester

Food arrived quickly. We had ordered for 7 people and we all had different dishes. Good portion sizes and tasty. One connent was although it said spicy, the szechuan wasn't as spicy as expected. Would order again

The ribs wasn’t even ribs no meat on them , there was more sweet and sour sauce than chips and chicken the chow mien was okay just a bit too much but deffo won’t be ordering the ribs again they was just poor quality

Starters were all pastry with little filling, ribs were overcooked and dry, dipping sauce was watered down! Satay was nice and seaweed also. Got fed up and didn’t try the spring rolls. The salt and pepper chips and chips got a thumbs up from my daughter

I got the chicken chow mein and it was gorgeous, very well seasoned. the prawn toast was amazing and the prawn and broccoli was so nice. Food came very hot, which was also a win. Thanks :)

This is my local go to for a quick noodle dish, they are friendly the food is generous but fairly average. The choices locally are fairly limited but Wok Star is consistent and I know what I am getting when I oder here. The family who run it are lovely.

By far the worst takeaway I have ever had! Salt and pepper chicken wings burnt. Thai red curry = nothing Thai about it. I was looking forward to this after a long shift at work as well. Money wasted

food arrived early, rice and chips were cooked lovely. The main dishes all had a very large amount of msg or equivalent and were extraordinarily gloopy and translucent. Although the flavours were good the gloopiness really took away from the dishes. They wouldnt even come off the spoon. Also no veg at all in the duck and orange sauce.

Food was ready for collection in 15 minutes and was absolutely delicious! portions were huge, definitely recommend

The S&P pizza box was generous but probably wouldn't order again. Ribs weren't normal S&P ones but barbecue ones and were tiny and grisly. The chips weren't nice, quite stale and dry. Everything else was pretty good but overall too salty.

Delivered quickly and food arrived hot. The char sui chow mien was a bit bland and soggy but the sweet and sour chicken balls were nice.

The Restaurant were very accommodating to dietary needs and gave great service :) the food was great - I loved the salt and pepper mushrooms and my partner says the Thai green curry was great! Thank you and all the best for the new year.

Food is usually great but this time the chips were hard and dry and the curry sauce was lukewarm and lumpy. It’s pretty expensive too

arrived early but don't know what was in that food, it's been 2h since I've had the food and the pain in my stomach is abnormal, never had Chinese and ended up in such pain!

The food was very tasty, however the amount of veg in the mixed veg chow Mein was disappointing. I would order again, but order something different.

Delivery driver polite & courteous. The food is not very nice. Ordered salt & pepper chips absolutely shocking!!! How any restraunt could send this type of food to customers is beyond me , hard as bullets & weirdly dry cardboard taste , the sweet & sour chicken was hard, it was as dry as the Sahara dessert, didn't even bother to taste the rest, didn't look appetising went in the bin please please don't waste money on this place you will be disappointed!!! Chips were definitely reheated. The SALT AND PEPPER CHICKEN had no salt and pepper at all. The chicken was so so dry. Never again

I ordered a salt and pepper munch box - my usual order for a Chinese. I have been here before and it had not usually tasted like this, it was like they had accidentally dropped a full tub of salt into the box i had to get rid of it all as was inedible

Food fantastic, delivery experience was uncomfortable. Driver took a long & difficult phone call to find location, then was talking to me by shouting non-stop, even as he handed me my food. Probably woke up some neighbours.

I live in a high rise apartment building on the seventh floor and got problems with my legs and it’s puts me in a lot of pain the delivery driver rang me up and he was expecting me to go down to him as I also paid a delivery fee I was not expecting to him and I told him I was still waiting for him to come 10 minutes later and I ended up whilst I was in pain and when I paid £5 delivery and pain i think then need to get rid of this guy

Some parts, the vermacelli and the chicken were nice, but almost everything else was overly gloopy and covered in too rich sauce. Most sent in the bin

I don't like leaving bad reviews but man... the food, smell and taste was just awful. Tasted just like the oil fish n chips is cooked in. Batter was burnt, prawn toasts were burnt and greasy, duck was just fat n bone. Sorry guys, and for the prices too... its a nope from me

The quality of the food was good, I had the salt and pepper chicken with egg friend rice. The portion size was good and the chicken itself was really tasty however it was incredibly salty, more salty than anything that it overpowered the rest of the flavour. The curry sauce was really salty as well and it’s left me feeling really dehydrated for hours afterwards. Unfortunately this let the whole meal down.

I recently ordered from this Chinese takeaway and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. The crispy rainbow shredded beef was absolutely delicious - the flavors were spot on and the beef was cooked to perfection. The texture was amazing - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The king prawn fried rice was also a standout dish. The prawns were large and succulent, and the rice was cooked to the perfect consistency - not too dry and not too wet. The overall flavor of the dish was well balanced and very tasty. I highly recommend this Chinese takeaway. The food was top-notch and the service was excellent. I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future.

Usually have no problems and the food is lovely but tonight was just awful!! Everything was overcook/brunt , the wings and the shredded beef tasted like they’d been reheated & the fried rice had two small bits of meat in. Very disappointed.
